Ian McCulloch seemed so ethereal and transcendent when younger - he's like the last rock star I would imagine to end up all Shane MacGowan / Shaun Ryder

One doesn't recognize here his voice on The Cutter, it sounds like someone imitating him. his voice is strained, hearing him hitting notes with difficulty is painful. They sound like Oasis playing Bunnymen repertoire. Big mouth was just 46 in 2005 !

Bad idea for professional singers to chain smoke for decades

Love Gordie Goudie. The Bunnymen's loss was The Minds' gain

The film director has a thing for the chick backstage who was probably McCulloch's young girlfriend at the time

La voz de Ian no tiene nada que ver con la que fue un día, está totalmente estropeada y rota, una pena.

Ya know, I’m so bloody sick of the discourse over someone’s voice. I love the Bunnymen so much and I have to read all this crap every time I watch one of these videos and it’s ridiculous. Ian sounds quite good here and people just always want to say something about him. I don’t get it. He’s older right and he’s even older now than here and he’s still singing. And touring all the time, you go on and sing for a flippin hour yeah and tell me how it goes. As another singer, I’ll tell ya it’s tiring. Give it a rest already, they’re incredible and important to post punk and new wave. Have some respect. Try to be kind, it won’t kill ya. I adore Mac full stop.

He can't hit the high notes of Never Stop, and people enjoy a singer who is a shadow of himself. Nostalgia, what the young McCulloch in his twenties would have said of a forties singer who sings like that. Sinatra at 70 could still hit all the notes exactly with the same tessutura; difference of class

Sinatra!?? The guy who 'talked' his songs?? Bull and Lol. Plus those old (Sinatra) crooners and 'their' music is going to be 'easy' down the line compared to the type of RnR songs Ian and others created. No singer sounds on stage exactly like a recorded version where you're not dealing with 'outside' elements etc. 'straining' the vocal.
