    Same as cutting the skive back on an hydraulic hoses and the an standard is the same as our 600 series Feld attachable fittings just made from alloy not steel thanks for the info good to know that you have hoses we can use with E85 👍👍👍

  • @brianm6117
    @brianm6117 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I worked at a shop where we made lots of different hoses mostly for gas and oil, but also smaller hydraulic style as well. The reusable fittings on the cloth hose are stupid simple to use. The ones we used had a reverse thread on the sleeve (B nut), the threaded onto the outside of the hose, then the fitting screwed into it and in the hose. The smaller hoses I could knock out in a few minutes. We also did braided stainless PTFE, but we crimped those. The biggest issue we always had with the PTFE was cutting the hose without the braided cover "flowering" out. We had a few methods we used to prevent it from happening, but some days it just wouldn't cooperate.
    I actually stopped at the shop recently because a friend needed an oil feed line for a car that was sitting on his dyno. The hydraulic shop was busy, so they told me I could make the hose myself if I wanted since I knew where everything was, and I'm still friends with everyone there anyway. I cussed, a lot, while trying to cut the hose. Once I got it though, it went good. Just had to get the crimper dialed in for such a small crimp.

    How about continuing with the e85 segment with maintaining your fuel system, plugs injectors & everything else that comes in contact with these newer fuels

    Great video Doug I was just wondering what is the best line for alcohol blends for the long run. What are your thoughts on hard line? And what metal would be best against the corrosiveness I'm guessing stainless steel.

    What’s your opinion on the EVIL ENERGY PTFE Fuel Line? It’s rated for E85 and is Nylon Braided Fuel Hose kit. Seems like it would be the best of both worlds. Love the content. Very informative. Thank you so much!

    Funny you say PTFE is a "bear" to assemble. I personally find it easier than braided rubber line to assemble. BUT the PTFE line I use doesnt that that coating on the outside so I'm sure the style of PTFE line you use adds to the difficulty.

    Can we get Expert James Taal to chime in on alcohol rotting fuel lines, and the risks of not having fuel filters ;)
    Also, jokes aside: It's worth mentioning that PTFE is TEFLON, not Nylon.
