I have carried and trained with my GX4 and now GX4XL both since release and I have never accidentally dropped a mag. Egros are designed so it is easy to use on purpose but very hard to squeeze by accident.
I've sat it a chair or squatted down and dropped the mag out of my gx4. It doesn't happen often but it's happened more than once or twice. Been trying to figure out if it's a gun problem or holster problem
Taurus had issues dating back to at least 1997, there's just been too many control issues in the past. Latest of those recalls was in May 2023 with some of their GX4 pistols. The built quality of the the GX4 carry frame chassis looks similar to the Taurus TS9 and better than the Taurus G3. Another plus for Taurus? The GX4 Carry comes with Mec-Gar magazines and it's about time. First time racking the slide back was surprised how easy it was, thought I was going to rip the slide off the frame. Fired 200 rounds without any issues. It won't be a part of my EDC but it will make a good home defense gun.
I was all set to buy a GX4 Carry, but upon inspection at the shop, the mag release button was far too light, and the salesman agreed. I tried a regular GX4 model and it was the same, too light. I prefer a stiff mag release button so as not to drop mags when carrying or firing. I also like some white dots or lines on the rear sight instead of a blacked out rear sight. The sights can be swapped, but it appears that there is no easy fix for the weak mag release button. Sorry, but I had to pass. Make sure you test the mag release at the shop before buying. Taurus needs to fix this.

So if I want a 507k c will I have to remove the pins on the slide?
