As a Taiwanese, I am really happy that more and more people watch this movie. This movie made many people remind the first love or the important person engraved in our mind. It really made me cry. It's a touched movie. Although it's not a HE,I think its purpose is to let everyone be nice to gay people. Now, most of Taiwanese has a open mind to this group and get along with them. Hope your society will be nicer to gay people.
Bridy was a brave person and he was never afraid of accepting himself. You could tell from the scene where he helped the bullied younger schoolmate out of the toilet. Birdy had realized long ago that he was what they called "a freak". Of course he had the courage to confess his love for Ahan but he refused to do that. Because he didn't want Ahan to be treated differently by others or even bullied for their relationship. He tried his best to hid his love and ignored Ahan in order to protect him. At the time being gay was extremely hard. Birdy didn't want to get Ahan involved. He did all that as he thought Ahan could have a "normal life" without him.
What stood out to me in the movie was the scene with the ex-wife near the end. By not being true to himself, he wasted his life, his friends life, the woman's life, and the kids life. All this time, every one of them could be happy with someone else, but they all end up miserable due to a personal '' choice' due to fear of society. They could have jst went under the radar and stayed together in secret. And the open ending...i felt like Birdy still wasn't 'brave' enough... *sigh*
I noticed how in all other things birdy was the brave one, he boycotts the school staff/authority, he want to protect the protester on the bridge, etc. being the vocal one. However, when it comes to their relationship, he was not courageous at all. Ah Han was always the one that kissed Birdy.

It is so sad to see almost all gay couple content creators or even the singles ones need to cover their faces to avoid identification. But Im glad that at least unlike the your past vids your vids are now showing parts of your faces.

In one scene, A-Han and Birdy see Chi protesting against sexual orientation discrimination on the streets of Taipei with a sign that says “homosexuality is not a disease,” before police swarm toward him. “We wanted to put that segment into the film to pay tribute to what he has done all these years,” Liu says. In fact, he says the production crew met with Chi lao-shi-Liu uses the honorific term referring to a teacher-and discussed his portrayal in the movie. One of Chi’s iconic protest looks was an outfit made of condoms, and this is the attire he’s wearing when A-Han and Birdy see him. “Our costume designer simply replicated the outfit,” Liu said, “and the character actually protested on the site where he protested in the past.”
Im asexual which in China im considered selfish and shameful. Its hard hiding the fact that i cant be sexually attracted to either gender. When theres a time to walk in public i tend to where fake glasses because as an asexual myself i have this tendency to stare at couple for a long time, sometimes i even blame myself asking why i cant just simply feel what a couple feels. Its really exhausting living in China and so emotionally and mentally draining just simply for being in the lgbtq+..

these films raised during the quarantine days in 2020, if you look in the past there were always films with gay subjects. But they were always on the side line. Now they get to get the recognition they deserve and that makes the QuarantineCovid 19 time so positive just in that way..... so you both are also very cute, wish you guys happiness in the world and a good life.... Omg I am obsessed with this movie recently and now I see my fav cp reacted to this yayyyy. The plot is normal but the 2 actors were so good at acting. I also advise you to watch the Thai film "Dew", it is so incredible that I still haven't recovered from it 😭 otherwise there is also "Life ~ Love on the line" which is Japanese and "Where Your Eyes Linger "which is Korean but not the film version because they do not put the thoughts of the characters but rather the version of the 8 episodes.
I loved this movie. I could relate so much with the struggle of accepting yourself and even fight against others opinions. I watched call me by your name too, but the difference is, elio (the main character) didn't question himself at all, he just already knew what he wanted. In this movie we can feel the frustration the character is going through. And also the love story is so heartbreaking. It just seemed so real, i could literally feel their feelings as if they were mine.
Watched the movie on Netflix, it was so emotional, I'm not gay but just want to say Love is Love and you should not be defined by ,"Who you Love". To all of you in same sex relationships be true to yourself, be brave, be proud, keep loving. My country was the first in the world to accept gay marriages. Kay so I'm a little late to the party but yes, this movie was beautiful. Your name engraved herein - it made me cry cause everything is so painfully true and relatable. It reminds me of how I felt watching the thai mini show - I told sunset about you. Its 5 episodes long and I swear I cried beginning to end. I binged it in one night and I only bear praise for this show. As a queer Asian myself it felt so real to me. It was also gorgeously directed, written, acted...absolute perfection. I highly recommend you check it out if you haven't yet.

I was so shocked because in my country the movie is only 13+, and when I watched it I was cluesless. Besides that, I think It was a really good movie, its very touching and sad, I cried a lot. I'm really happy that there is more representation in the media. As a person who is figuring out labels, this made me think a lot. Some people complained about the end but I really liked it.
Try watching Gaya sa Pelikula on Netflix also. It’s loosely based on the real life of the writer. Idk these days i tend to watch movies and series based on the makers lives... i feel like the angst is much more well delivered everytime.

Good video. It's nice to see your reactions to various things. You're right. If there wasn't so much oppression towards homosexuals back then, maybe main characters could've ended up together. I saw the movie and the one that saddened me that they had not been together because of the repression that occurred in those years, they looked so cute but they fell in love in the wrong year that they could not be together as they wanted :(

Kay so I'm a little late to the party but yes, this movie was beautiful. Your name engraved herein - it made me cry cause everything is so painfully true and relatable. It reminds me of how I felt watching the thai mini show - I told sunset about you. Its 5 episodes long and I swear I cried beginning to end. I binged it in one night and I only bear praise for this show. As a queer Asian myself it felt so real to me. It was also gorgeously directed, written, acted...absolute perfection. I highly recommend you check it out if you haven't yet.
I cried so much too, cuz we not brave enough to be different, we do not like to be in the spotlight when It comes to our secrets. 😭😭

I was so shocked because in my country the movie is only 13+, and when I watched it I was cluesless. Besides that, I think It was a really good movie, its very touching and sad, I cried a lot.

You're right. If there wasn't so much oppression towards homosexuals back then, maybe main characters could've ended up together. In scenarios like this there are many factors to take into consideration. It's a movie to watch, for sure.
I'm glad Dia found it interesting, even without explicit (or more revealing) bed scenes. Haha
I felt sad that they expressed well the era when homosexuality got surppressed.
So, lt makes me think a lot.

I saw the movie and the one that saddened me that they had not been together because of the repression that occurred in those years, they looked so cute but they fell in love in the wrong year that they could not be together as they wanted :(
