    The snowblower does a great job. Love the flashing strobe lights! I always say, if they are gonna hit me, they're gonna see me first.

    • @maineoutdoors8227
      @maineoutdoors8227  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It sure does. I like all the power it has but it's small enough to get into tight areas. Got a removable cab for it recently which definitely improves the snowblowing experience. The strobe lights were a fun project to work on, which I might redo in the future. Having the cab makes me rethink the location of them.

    I live in Maine, too, but the biggest storm we have had this year was about 7". I never set my blower to blow so high in the air, that's why there is so much blow back. Blowing straight across or just slightly higher than that keeps the snow from coming back on you.

    • @maineoutdoors8227
      @maineoutdoors8227  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Guessing you live near the coast. One side of my driveway has a hill so need to shoot the snow high. I think I can lower it though and still get it to the top. I will try it next storm.

    Nice video. I'm a John Deere person by heart having used a John Deere X595 with a 54" plow for the last 18 years to plow my driveway and the neighbors. I love my John Deere's (318, 445 & X595) but am amazed at how well the Kubota snowblowers blow the snow so far and with so much force and what seems like a very smooth action of the snow coming out of the chute. I don't have a snowblower for my X595 but have watched a lot of videos of both John Deere and Kubota snowblowers and I have to say, the Kubota's have it all over the John Deere's. I love watching them blowing snow. Yes, a cab would be nice but I would also want it removed during the summer. Again, nice video and enjoy your BX2680 and snowblower.
    Curt.

      Front mount blowers are the nicest but I can’t be without my FEL so I just went with the 3 point reverse driving blower. Have a JD1023. That machine looks like it blows further but I’ve never found my setup lacking. Drive is about 450 feet long and the Deere easily went through the 20 inches we had two weeks ago.

  • @smeefamily54
    @smeefamily54 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I installed the chute motor so I can change the deflection angle. Now I just need more snow to try it out better. Everything is melting now.
    Great job with your removal. The machine makes it more fun than running around behind a push blower. Take care: from Petawawa, Ontario.

    Good machine. In windy snow day, you should lower your chute angle, that would prevent lots of snow blowing back at you.

    • @maineoutdoors8227
      @maineoutdoors8227  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agree. The blower I have allows me to control the chute left and right but the chute angle has to be done manually. I angle it high because of the hill on the side of my driveway but think I can angle it down some to help. There is an option to add get an up/down chute control, which in my opinion should be a standard feature.

    Many talk about getting a cab, my dealer wanted 7700for an after market one, wow too much for me so I use my snowmobile suit and a helmet with a visor, pull visor down when snow blowing at me, up rest of time. Stops that gust of snow getting on your face (very cold) rest of time very good, in fact I just purchased the rear blower half price of front one and this works well too. Very pleased with this cause can keep bucket on as well.

    • @maineoutdoors8227

      Snowblowing is the way to go but I am definitely getting a cab! Original tractor cab has one for around 1200 but you cant fold down the ROPS which is a problem for me. So I might suck it up and get the one I really want which is 4500. Its made by ATV Cabs LLC and similar to a Curtis cab. Big difference though is you can remove the cab which I like. I only need it in the winter. Good chance by next winter I will have a video on here showing it. Ive suffered without a cab for too long.

      @@maineoutdoors8227 hello from Northern Ontario. I have the BX2380 with a commercial blower and rear blade and I tried open station for a month and packed that idea away and got a Tektite Cab. It has heat, wiper blade and front and rear flood lights. It’s so much nicer I can’t tell you how much. I can blow into the wind and I’m not bothered at all. I flip the wiper switch and the windshield is clear. Today I blew snow for 3 hours doing neighbours driveways and it was bitter cold outside but I turned the heat on and I was toasty warm inside! I don’t even have to pile on the clothes to stay warm and my glasses never get drenched with snow. I guarantee that a cab will change your life. My Tektite Cab is Roll Over capable and I don’t need the ROPS on. The cab is made in Manitoba, Canada.

    Just wish they would lose that damn treadle pedal. The school district I worked for 35 years bought four of them, and that treadle pedal sucks. My ankle does not bend the way Kubota wants it to. Yes, you can pick your foot up and press down on the back side but it not that comfortable to use. We had a John Deere with the two pedal hydro, and I loved it. Simply leave your heel in one place and pivot your toes left or right as needed. So much easier to use. I will never understand why people like the treadle pedal. And I asked the dealer about it and he said some people like it. I think if they tried a Dohn Deere just once they would be sold.

    Have a good time, you have a good tractor for snow removal, we can only dream of such a technique where I live, can I ask you for a little help? as a single father caring for a disabled daughter, it would be nice for me to get a little help in raising funds for a tractor, as much as I don't mind at least $ 1 and then in the piggy bank. Thank you for a nice video.

    Who's the shaky cam operator? Would have been a good video but camera work was so bad....zoom is not your friend.

      Lol....I know it wasn’t the best quality. My son is running the camera, and it was a little cold that day. I now have a tripod and some tractor mounts for a GoPro, so better quality footage coming.

    The person hand-holding while filming is not very good at it...bouncing and jerking the device around...its rather annoying....it adds not 8:23 hing to the video and it really takes away from the activity.

      Yeah, I found that out on the day I picked it up. Anyone who has ever done some snowblowing knows that is a necessity. I probably will add it at some point but this is the one thing that has irritated me about this purchase.
