@blackvan84 The "Pate Swap Meet" is now at the Texas Motor Speedway between Fortworth and Denton TX. In 1998, this famous swap meet moved from the old Pate Museum of Transportation, where it was held for many years, Its BIG!
I was pressing a remote starter button in my hand that was wired to the solenoid. I couldn't make the keyed dash switch work. I had a key for it, just didn't switch on. I sold this car a few weeks after I filmed this. Can't keep'em all, but I had fun with it.
It sold! not for $2000, but less. The buyer does not want me to state what it sold for. I couldn't believe it, there really wasn't much interest in this old T-bird??? For awhile there, I was afraid I might be taking it back home to my already overcrowded back yard, ughhhh!! what a relief, it sold and I'm happy and the guy that bought it is happy. He said he would give X amount if it really would run and when it started up, he shelled out the cash!
Daniel Restodan Dude, as straight and rust free as that body was, and with it moving forward and backward, I say you should have been able to get more than two grand for it right there. But oh well, you did a great job getting it running and driving, albeit it only a few feet, LOL. I know this was years ago, but did you fix the brakes and back up lights before you sold it? Keep up the good work!
We had an old parts cornet w/ a 727. It had no brakes, to move it you had to do the ole foward-reverse trick.. Shift into driver, Move foward, Shift into Reverse, "Chirp" to stop it.
I understand Dan You go lots of work/projects like me. Maybe next car you have to sell I can own. Wish I could buy it/its certainly worth that. It will make a beauty thanks Dan.
Well this old T-bird will sell for 2k because I would buy it for that no talk downs but the only draw back is that I live in VA. there is no way I can go to another state and bring it back but if it was local here I would have it setting in my garage right now up on jacks starting the restore project. I have restored some cars like you have in the backyard a 67 Dodge Dart ,73 VW bug simi automatic ,72 ford pickup long bed. 68 Dodge Polara 500, 75 Crysler Cordoba and a 80 Citation.
@restodan How about we all send you some parts $ just so we can watch you restore this ole girl ? I'd rather see you ressurect this car than the '63 Imp.. It's a shame this one can't just be on deck for the next project. I understand that you have to be committed to putting your heart & wallet into this old Ford. I woulda just loved to have seen this project continue. Really enjoy your videos, thanks for the entertainment Dan.
I have a 97 Ford Mustang I might so something with I got from a person that owed me some Money well take care keep up the vids. Check out my 68 polara 500 Vid

That's a crazy good deal considering how popular and expensive those cars are.
