The way Snow crystallized the chandelier was designed the same way Cocoon was crystallized in FFXIII. I love the subtlety and hidden concepts.

While i do understand the criticisms of regarding FF13 series and its deviation from the usual JRPG formula that FF series is known for. I do not understand the hate everyone seems to have for the actual story. During my xbox 360 days, i only bought used games and these titles are probably one of the few non-multiplayer i bought at retail. and that was after playing it for 3 hours from gamefly. Loved the series storytelling from beginning to end.
Can't remember any other game that made me cry so much for kicks. It's no Shakespeare, that's true and it does have plot holes littered around the series, but it gets the job done regardless. With each character having their own sense of purpose that moves you while your playing. I've never seen such a cliche premise (save the princess/save the world) told in such a complex mind-fuck kind of way.
May not be for everyone, especially for hardcore FF fanboys, but definitely not a trash series.
Ron Gascon 13 is one of my favorite FF series. I don’t get either way there is much for it. I loved this one and XV.

I liked the ff13 series as well I've been a final fantasy fan since I was a kid this game ain't so bad but hey that my opinion. I Ain changing my mind I like ff15 too but one of my favorite final fantasy games would be 7 .
The two main reasons against FF13 I got so far were either:
1. The gameplay is too linear.
2. ITS SHIT, RAGH FF RUINED CHILDHOOD RUINED DIE SQUARE ENIX AND EVERYONE WHO LIKES FF13!!!!
I can see why pople dislike the linear gameplay of FFXIII-I but the others seem to be unreasonable haters who don't like female protagonists ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
God I wish the trilogy had a remaster for ps4 and PS5. Because back then it was running in 720p. Which isn't bad but I'd wish they remastered it. They can improve so much from these games. I've seen ps3 remasters to ps4 and I have to say there is so much improvement. They can even make more grass in the original game. Make the game more alive. And update the character models to be more sharper and detailed.
I want this so badly to happen, I miss playing the trilogy. I need a remaster now!!

vibha jain the distinct different between fiction of US(marvell dc) and japanese is the character built...US implies us as normal human with ego,darkside,emotion,etc...while japanese is almost always IDEALISTIC..which is not bad...everybody loves an ideal hero/heroine..it gave us HOPE...literally...
FFXIII sold 6.71 million copies making it Square-Enix's 4th best selling game of all time. That sure soumds like a success to me. Also none of the FFVII prequels or sequels even got close to 6 million copies sold. Which makes FFXIII more successful than the FFVII prequels and sequels. From these numbers it sure seems like whatever they were doing worked.

But I’ll bite, FFV Advanced and FFXIII have the same critic rating on metacritic, so I’m sure you can agree, who cares what “all reviewers” think. XIII isn’t even my favorite FF game, it’s VI if you were wondering, I just don’t think it’s as bad as people make it out to be.

Asadul Usud I mean it’s all just personal preference, it’s okay to not like FFXIII. I personally like FFXIII because I had fun playing it, particularly the later part of the game where it opens up. Would I say it’s on the same level as VII? Probably not, but it’s been too long since I played both. All I know is, I had fun playing both games and like them for different reasons. I can’t speak for XIII as a whole trilogy though since I played like an hour of Lighting Returns lol. XIII-2 was okay, but I don’t think I liked it as much as XIII.

To me XIII was almost fine to play and almost masterpiece but when 2 and Returns came out it make me lost the first feels that I have with XIII.

Let's get down to business, to defeat the Huns The original game had at least five pre rendered cutscenes. I can list a couple off the top of my head. Opening, fireworks festival, serah’s capture, the groups branding, arrival on pulse, pulse vs cocoon carnival play, sazh flying the airship, ending

This is my FAVORITE FFXIII game out of the other two!
This scene took me all the way back to my childhood where heroes are always the champions, saving the days, and saving the lives of the innocents! An epic journey! And this is the perfect scene!
I LOVE this scene and everything about it! It gives off a heroic atmosphere as the epic music plays, and Lightning and my FAVORITE outfit, the Equilibrium (I also created my own Equilibrium! That outfit is the best outfit I've ever seen! She is like a hero that came straight out of a comic book!)) that truly suits her powers, fought the Anubys enemies with sheer will and speed faster than the eyes can see!

I honestly don't understand the hate for the 13 trilogy. Yeah the combat and other game mechanics weren't the best but it's story is what I fell in love with more. Seriously underrated games.
I think they didn't like the story.
The combat, bosses, music and characters are what made me love it. Just a culmination of all of those make it a fun experience every time
The combat mechanics are actually the best from the whole franchise, given that most of the recent FF games have straight up stolen the ATB gimmick.
Lightning and that new FF14 guy are awesome. Love how they teleport and burst trough enemies
And basically the third game is my favorite one... interesting.
Now, I really hate Yoshinori Kitase as a producer. That dude thinks quantity over quality since his appointement as producer. Instead of milking the brand as he does, he should concentrate his effort on making ONE GREAT GAME rather than making a dump load of shitty games. Pretty much everyone agrees that even though the gameplay is somewhat not bad it will never make up for the overall boring story of all the 13s put together. But, he says he expected that kind of critism. Question is: What is the point of releasing a game you know people won't like with characters they have MORE THAN ENOUGH OF. Now that this ''grand project'' that was supposed to be Fabula Nova Crystallis is FINALLY behind, I hope they'll fire his sorry ass for not even starting to fill up the shoes of Hironobu Sakaguchi and making what was the reference for RPG a wannabe money sucking machine and a joke. I also heard somewhere him saying that: ''As remake of FF7 is out of the question as long as they won't release an FF that will leave the same mark on the player.'' The only response I have for that is: Well, I really hope for you 15 will be ''THAT'' game (which would surprise me because 6 years before its release they already started to oversell it so chances are it will NEVER meet the expectations they created) because if 15 sucks as much balls as the 13 compilation and the huge failure of 14, a 7 remake might be the only hope left for them to save an already declining franchise. Maybe it would be for the best and bring them back to their roots of what made them successful in the first place instead of ''trying too hard'' and only think about the money the next game will bag them like they do since 10-2. FF was once a synonym for quality, now it's just one bad game after the other. They've become the Silent Hill of RPGs.

He did just one good job in Final Fantasy 7.
This game could benefit heavily from being remade on a new console with tech that would allow the world and combat to be expanded. I feel as if the series was too heavily hindered by its generation. The first game was divided into three discs, leaving the open areas to the final disc and having a resulting sense of linearity. And this game was simply trying do too much at once. A reboot would do the series justice.

@@La-hora-del-terror Yea I've played both but I remember the third disc beginning on Gran Pulse. So the game only opens up on the final disc, limiting the whole game. Imagine the amount of quests and enemies of the FF13 trilogy but in the massive empty world of FF15.

The battle system was not that different from other Final Fantasies after 4(excluding X-2). The only difference was that you got to chose more than one attack when your ATB gauge filled up.
Lightning is my favorite final fantasy female and Lumina is my second.....so I guess Lighting managed to grab both top spots

I just finished the FFXIII trilogy last month, despite its flaws, I really enjoyed the journey and the ending was satisfying.
Could you tell me why Snow is like this (kinda evil) in lightning returns? I haven't play the game but I always wanted to know why snow wasn't with Serah or worried for her since he always loved her (?)

@@renn9331 at the ending of FFXIII-2 Serah died and so the Goddess, Etro. Because of that people became immortal but not immune to sickness or if got killed. Snow being alive for 500 years breaks him and stored Chaos to protect his people. The bad guy act is more like a facade because he really feels guilty of Serah's deatg

To understand what is truly going on, you do have to play the other two. I've played and beaten both, so I have a great idea of how this has come to be. I'm super excited, and you all should be too. If my hunch is correct, this has the potential to be one of the greatest(if not THE greatest FF storyline ever). If you don't know what happened in the last games, i'll tell you if you want.

It gets less linear in chapter 11. Once you get their you honestly spend more time in Chapter 11 doing the side quest then you do the prior chapters put together.
To this day snow is my favorite final fantasy character.

Now it's a DMC Dante hair do, liked the ice giant hammer but how the fuck did snow turn bad from the days of fight all evil, I'm mr right ???? Graphic wise this would dominate. FF XIII was best. The sequel sucked though. Now if Sephroith came back.......there's a baddie worth the next gen franchise.
My problem with Final Fantasy these days is they try to hard, as dumb as that sounds. it's just brooding characters in a story that is trying so hard to be deep that it becomes confusing and stupid. I didn't despise XIII but XIII-2 made no real sense and should never have existed. Also the battle system sucks, either choose real time or turn based and stick to it. Don't try blend the two.

I'm officially lost when it comes to this story. I thought Snow and Lighting was on the same team? I mean I'm sure once I begin to play the game it will all make sense at some point why the trust was lost everything went bat shit crazy. The PS4 is coming out. I'm not asking for a release in the near future, but even if it took them 3-5 years fans would let them take their time with it until it was ready. And as I stated in another reply, I do not condemn the game as a whole. I just wouldn't have done Cloud's armor as DLC. I grew up on FF7 as others have so it is a bit annoying to me. It's only my opinion, nothing else.

Not a bad fight, but let's face it. This will end 13. It's the only thus far i've thought about picking up, but won't. Why you ask? Because they gave her Cloud's armor and sword as DLC. Proving to me 2 things. 1. They can remake FF7 if they felt like it but they are being lazy about it. And 2. Lightning is alright but she is not deserving of such a legendary armor. It would've been like giving Noel from X-2 Zack's armor. So yeah, Square Enix. Just no. No, no, no.
I can't wait for ffXV to come out, then all you guys who hate FFXIII will see how sucky THAT game is, and you'll complain about its graphics and it's story and all that bull and will be looking forward to FFXI saying FFXV sucks. In the end you put way too much faith in the future games that will never meet your specifications because it wasn't as good as the past games.
Microsoft wouldn't keep having these games made if no one bought them. Obviously it brings in a significant amount of revenue from all the people that buy it, so that's why there are two sequels to XIII. Also, this series isn't a Microsoft exclusive, so in retrospect, they aren't making Square-Enix do anything.
