I was at that game as a callow 14-y-o. What a day. The Huns were favourites because Jinky and Yogi were not available. Step up, George Connelly! ☘️☘️☘️☘️
The night before the game the irrepressible Bertie auld was interviewed and told the reporter “they shouldnae be oan the same park as us”. Wee Bertie. Right as always.
The 4th goal is remarkable as far as you can physically be from the opposite goal, four touches of the ball and Chalmers is in, the simple almost nonchalant finish, most definitely one of the greatest Celtic goals ever
Great memories. I was 12 years old and my dad got tickets for the old north stand - 2nd row from the front. The only problem was that the seat segregation wasn't all that strict and we were surrounded by their supporters. One of my main memories of the day was my dad trying to calm me down when we scored. Mind you it was only a problem during the first half as most of their seats were empty during the second 45 minutes.
Good to see: Always is: good to see, The "rankers": losing and perhaps; even more better/importantly; the Celtic; win_ning!! -M.K.S. -(M.K.S. -Celtic, can!!).
Great day 133 000 won the treble huns were fighting one another at ht and when the fourth goal went in loads off trouble outside ferguson got blame for first goal but perrsson and greigs mistakes for the 2nd and 3nd goals were worse
Yes, it was. He was told to mark McNeill and failed miserably after five minutes. I believe he was in Rangers' third team the following week v Glasgow Corporation Transport, and that was it. Onto Falkirk.
And, as usual, an Irish broacaster for Celtic........................................................................ needless to go further into this one, that's where you lot belong to for yer own self admission.
And here's me thinking the present defenders at Ibrox are the worst ever,,, wrong i could have sworn I saw Tav and Goldson there and Tommy Mclean doing a decent impersonation of Kent.
What a day! They weren’t a bad team, the first Rangers, holding us to just the four! 😂

The first cup final in a Gers shirt with the team crest on the Jersey.

One of John Greig's finest moments. 🤣

"And bingo, it's there!" 😁 love it.
Classic. I enjoyed watching that. Ty.
I was at this game...as usual, after Chalmers scored the 4th... the Huns left
1-0 Billy McNeill (3 min)
2-0 Bobby Lennox (44 min)
3-0 George Connelly (45 min)
4-0 Stevie Chalmers (76 min)
What a player big George was 👏
Best game I ever attended 🤗🇮🇪HH
Yes I was 13 this was my 7 1 my da and uncle were at that
I had a close up colour photo of Greig's face when he gave away the 3rd goal in an old scrapbook I had as a wee tot. Wish I had kept it.
The Celtic End at Hampden held more people than any other football ground in the World at that time I think I read that somewhere
The chances we missed. Even a high ball punted forward was really a controlled pass. Greig was a donkey of a defender.
It's highly unlikely there was any Celtic supporter there that day and were at the previous Scottish Cup Final win over Rangers.
In 1904.
Beat them in 57 65 and 66 league cup finals thou
Brilliant celtic, keep it coming
Not just for treble seasons btw we want ALL seasons.
We never stop!
Brilliant.

What's happened to the BBC/Archie Macpherson commentary of this game? Doesn't seem to be available these days
This is better than listening to that hun mcpherson this guy is Canadian and its on for 70 mins there's only one king billy that's mcneil
George Connolly's goal was majestic but Stevie Chalmers for the 4th? The build up alone. FFS Celtic 🤣💚
Who was the hun that passed to Bobby Lennox? Loves Celtic assists as much as Barasic. 😂
Orjan perrsson
That fourth goal was a peach.
Gotta ask though...did celtic 📺 get Alistair Johnstone to do the commentary 😂
Love this uppa celtics
Always great to beat the rangers hail hail
Who's the commentator?
The year Celtic won all three trophies in the same month.
Yes for some reason the league Cup final was played in April it's usually in Oct the year before
Great day 133 000 won the treble huns were fighting one another at ht and when the fourth goal went in loads off trouble outside ferguson got blame for first goal but perrsson and greigs mistakes for the 2nd and 3nd goals were worse
This not the game the rangers turned against Alex Ferguson forcing him out of their old club?
Yes, it was. He was told to mark McNeill and failed miserably after five minutes. I believe he was in Rangers' third team the following week v Glasgow Corporation Transport, and that was it. Onto Falkirk.
yeah. he's the number 9, first see him 0:20 losing mcneill for the first goal, then getting strong armed here - 0:45.
LOL you can see the other defenders giving him 'The Hairdryer' after the first goal...
They got shot off him cos his wife was a catholic I thot perrsson and greigs mistakes were worse than fergusons
Is that Fergus McCann commentating 😂
Strange highlights before the technology era
Eh cannonball kid bn everywhere way mighty Glasgow celtic 😊😊😊❤him
No VAR penalty for rangers HH
you must have predicted the 2024 league cup final lol
Aye
That fourth goal 😍
And, as usual, an Irish broacaster for Celtic........................................................................ needless to go further into this one, that's where you lot belong to for yer own self admission.
