an oily cotton ball surrounded by a hot metal wire being fed electricity with no fuse or high temp cut out sealed within a metal can. I love this so much and Ill be making these for all the noisy neighbors in my neighborhood right away.

Actually, nichrome wire is known as resistance wire.
By ur logic then, when u switch on the light at home ur making a sort of short circuit only!!😂😂😂 Short circuit happens when resistance is close to zero and so really high amt. of current flows through the circuit.
Chumban Shukla I mean you're kind of right and mostly wrong. This guy is a complete and utter pleb. LEARN HOW TO USE OHMS LAW. It's not that hard, there are calculators online. Find out the the resistance of your coil, then adjust your wattage and voltage accordingly. Don't just stick a random coil onto a 5v USB cable. You're asking for your house to be burnt down. Your coil could burn out because your wattage is too high.
And dont use regular wire.
See now you've brought out the philosophers. here: targeted Resistance = circuit - unintended or no resistance = short.

Instead of cotton that was used the nichrome wire can be immersed in silicone oil which is not flammable. The fragrance oil can be put on a small container on top the oil filled contraption.
Please try and show all the tools and supplies you use during your experiment in the beginning. Some of them you did but I noticed there were other items you used in the video that weren't shown in the beginning. Thanks.
Hey Roman, I'm a metalcrafter, I make ornamental hand forged steel art. I'm planning on incorporating a custom difuser based on this design on an even smaller scale to fit into some of my table top arrangements. I'm currently working on a 100% hand forged & fabricated Lily of the Valley plant with a diffuser in the base. I was wondering what gauge wire your nichrome wire is that you used for the amp rating of the USB cable. Too thin... too hot, too thick... not hot enough. I intend to insulate my resevoir & wire with Kaowool (3000* ceramic wool commonly used in forge liningsl) instead of normal wool, for electrical and heat resistive durability reasons. Redundancy is the key when working with custom products.... Thanks for the info if you are up to sharing and I appreciate you taking the time to make the video. Excellent creativity. +1

My 250mm of nichrome measured 3.3 ohms. At 5V, that might draw 1.5A. Give or take for change in resistance due to heating. Sure enough, it drew 1.3A from my bench supply when voltage limited to 5V and hit over 200 degrees. So, if it doesn't destroy your PSU, it'll destroy your home insurance.
could you explain please? How would it destroy, is that not a usable amount of amperage to pull consistently?

Quick question, how hot does the bottom of the steel can get? Does it get hot enough to where you need to have like a ceramic tile underneath it? :P
I have a suggestion if you able to generate the required frequency you can use an 1:1 transformer arrangement to create clean sinusoidal wave.

Remove the USB cable. If you plug it into your computer you may damage it. A computer USB port can supply only 500mA while your "gadget" is absorbing at least 1.5A. Probably also your wall USB charger will get damaged in few days. You should use a lab power supply to verify the current absorption before using a USB cable!
Andrea Gavioli the voltage on the usb port will drop down to guarantee a power consumption of 500 milliamps.

I made one, similar to this. Remember that you wont be able to put lower coils in this case, due to the amp provided by the charger. In my case I've used a PSU from a pc.

Because of how the coil is made and what liquid is used, you don't vape concentrated oils haha.

Well, there is no risk of fire because there isn't enough air, speaking of wich, there are no air intakes, so if you try to vape that thing you'll probably get instantaneous lung cancer because of burned cotton

a spring could also work but it may be more than 2 amp from the powersupply if you could also use a 3 ohm resitor

Man after looking at the gauge of the wire i can tell that it isnt gonna become that much hot with the power supply you are providing it you need to increase the voltage to atleast 24v and current to 5 amps

By Alteration/Modification , which is a very durable long lasting .
So I will make One Bakhoor burner .

Don't plug this into your computer or laptop kids. This will basically kill your computer/laptop and the usb brick might also die out too. This is a basically short which is not the use intended for the brick.

It doesn't matter, as long it's a spring with same thickness, it'll work. My biggest problem is that the cotton becomes a fire and breathing hazard once oil runs out.

Should have incorporated a timer so you can calculate how long it takes for another refill.
This will probably burn because you dont have a thermometer mesuring the temperture of the steel so it wont turn off and will keep on heating.
