Was lucky enough to get to see Charlap in his trio a few years ago at Ronnie Scotts here in London; had a really good seat close to the piano. What a beautiful set that was. I refer to Bill as the 'man with the magic fingers'... Wonderful playing, and great be able to actually see the magic in the score.
He swings so hard and has such a command of the time ,there are not too many people that I can think of that are on his level, at least not that are alive today.He's one of my favorite pianists for sure.

Sheet music is right there, it's not at all a difficult sight read, I play through about half of it with no problems.

This is awesome. Amazing dynamics. But it's also kind of sad when you have transcribed solo for a head, and it's not even your own.
