Buying And Selling Crowns For Gold In ESO

  • One of the most rewarding benefits of being a tryhard trader in ESO and accumulating a large amount of gold is being able to purchase crown items without ever having to spend any of your real-life money. On the other hand, if you're loaded irl and are looking to get gold in ESO ASAP (without breaking the TOS of course), then you can always trade your crowns for gold by effectively "selling" crown store items to interested customers (of which there is an endless supply of).
    This video briefly details how to go about buying and selling crowns in ESO for gold, as well as the role of the broker, how to best avoid scams, and what crown exchange discord servers you should check out!

    I joined your discord this morning. I'm taking very small baby steps to expand my ESO experience which has been 99.9999% solo. I did do one PVP match which I won which surprised the crap out of me. I'm a grown man with a career, probably one of your oldest members and I feel like I'm starting my first day of the job. The reason I joined your discord, you have become my favorite ESO personality. Keep up the great work.

      Congratulations on the nice pvp match! Once you get over the fact that you are going to die a LOT in pvp, you eventually learn to let go of your ego and just have a good time. It's especially nice when you get to pvp with friends :)
      And welcome to our discord server! Thank you very much for your continued support :)

      Don't feel alone. I am 40 with wife and 3 kids. I play solo not interested in playing with annoying people. I have my own teenage children to deal with I don't need anymore. So yeah solo play is normal and being older with career is normal as well. My wife is a engineer and I am in real estate.

    I don't see how anyone can say that buying crows should be against TOS after ZOS changed the crown store to allow you to gift a house. If they were against it, then they would not have made it possible to gift an item worth over $100 IRL.

      Yeah for sure, the devs recognize many ESO crown exchange discord servers as well. If anyone still had any doubts, I figured that they would have surely been squashed when the devs implemented the feature to gift homes!

      Read the End User Licensing Agreement... In the first line it says you do not own any of the software... That means you don't own Gold... That means you don't own Crowns (which are not even "in-game"... Are they awarded in chests, as rewards for killing mobs?? You can't even buy them on the website without being transferred to a third-party...) You are sold ACCESS to ESO's software... I rent a studio... I can't sell it.... You can't sell what you don't own.... Knowing that doesn't require ToS, it requires that your mommy taught you that pre-K...

    Really theres no need to purchase food,drink,or potions. You can just gather the needed ingredients and craft them.Thank you for all this info! I had no idea that we could trade for those two items. Nice to know for future reference. :}

    • @Arttea
      @Arttea  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is true to an extent - depending on how often you raid, it would be difficult to gather enough materials - especially if you use food and potions with expensive ingredients! It’d be much more efficient to just sell your vDLC motifs from pledges or what have you and then buy a whole bunch of perfect roe or dragon rheum as opposed to fishing and killing dragons I’d imagine ;p All depends on how you play the game and how serious or casual you’d like to be I suppose :)

    Isn’t there an option to send an item and it can only be picked up if you fulfil your part of the bargain? Sold a crown item before and thought it worked liked that 🤔 a while ago so can’t really remember, I’m planning on selling more since it stacked so may follow ur advice and go through one of these groups you mentioned. 👍 great vid

    • @Arttea
      @Arttea  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is something like that called "COD", or "Cash-On-Demand". It is where you can mail a player an item and the only way they can accept your mail is if they pay the COD fee (which you can set to be whatever you'd like) that gets sent directly to you. This feature, however, does not work with crowns, since you do not gift crown items in the mail, but rather through the crown store.
      Those crown groups are great, I hope that they can be useful!

    Any insight on trading master writs? Is turnover high enough to make it a reliable source of income? Or is it common for some listings to just never go? And if its a viable revenue source, what's your simple pricing method? Is listing on a guild trader among the best options?
    Any insight would be cool. Im slowly accumulating writs that I don't foresee doing any time soon, if ever

    • @Arttea
      @Arttea  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've definitely seen guildies advertise that they have some master writs for sale that they'd be willing to trade for gold. Usually, the buyer pays a certain amount of gold per voucher, but that value would depend across servers.
      Alchemy master writs sell for a whole lot during xp events, since spamming them is an effective way to earn a lot of xp. On PC NA, I can sell them for upwards of 40k pretty reliably during the first few days of any XP event, so I would hang onto those until then.
      As for the others, if you don't plan on ever doing them, you should just toss them on the guild store whenever. Be mindful of what your guildies are pricing their writs for (gold per voucher) when looking for a reference to price your own. As an aside, I've heard that around 1k per 3 vouchers (at most - 1:1 is ideal!) on PC NA is a solid reference when looking to spend your own vouchers at the master writ vendor, should you have any.

    I'm surprised ESO doesn't have a trade system in place like Puzzle Pirates (Yeah, whole other kind of game) has:
    You have a trade window where you both put in the item and/or gold in the trade. And only when you are both satisfied with what's being traded (you have to click something like accept trade or something), will the trade be executed.
    For example:
    Player A loads the crown crates in the trade window
    Player B loads the 3 million gold in the trade window
    Player A clicks accept
    Player B clicks accept
    Trade is locked.
    Only then does the trade get executed.
    Seems like a much better system.
    That doesn't take into account, of course, people trying to sell crown items for a ridiculous high price or people trying to buy crown items for ridiculously low price....

    New player here. Is this a really fair thing to do? There will always feel like someone has to have crowns that they would sell which cost real life money. is it fair to trade something with a real life monetary value for something that you can just grind up over time?

    • @Arttea
      @Arttea  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of players love selling their crowns as a quick way to make gold. I can't speak on their behalf, since I am not one of those players, but I am sure that they have their reasoning to continue to sell their crowns as often as they do (see: crown selling discords with tens of thousands of people in them). Perhaps they appreciate not having to spend any of their time in-game making gold. But again, I can't speak on their behalf. All I know is that this is an incredibly popular practice.

      @@yarikcreative that makes me wonder about guild trader prices. Alot if the values Arttea has given throughout her videos are higher than Xbox NA. Are they also lower than PC EU, to match the difference in crown prices?

    • @yarikcreative
      @yarikcreative 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@guardianv5846 from what I understand, PC EU is the most expansive server overall (or, more correctly, the server where gold has the least value).
      I can only speculate for the reasons. I think it's because PC EU has the largest amount of "free-to-play"* players from relatively poor countries IRL - Russia, Middle East, Central Asia, India - all are geographically closer to the European server, and PC is way more popular in those countries than consoles. ESO does not have regional prices for crowns (or plus subscription, which also gives crowns), so they can be prohibitively expensive for average person from those regions. Hence, increased demand for crowns for in-game gold. Supply doesn't meet demand, prices go brrrrr...
      * I know ESO is "buy-to-play", not "free-to-play", but by that I mean people who just buy the game once, and don't spend money on crowns / subscriptions.

    Dont buy from lower levels (less than 160cp), big chance its a account that is made to scam multiple people.
    Record and make sure you tell the person you are recording, its less likely a scammer with a higher level account will risk his account scamming someone who is recording x someone who is not recording.
