Thank you, Scott, for this really interesting demo. I am a hand builder at heart, though I am trying to keep at least a basic ability to throw on the wheel.
The vast majority of pottery videos on TH-cam are wheel throwing, as I’m sure you know. So I am particularly pleased to see this whole new direction for hand builders. Bravo! 👍🤓

Very instructive - a great, creative way of adding interest to slab building. I thought I was going to skip through this long video, but I watched the whole thing

Please can you hold detailed pieces of the processes and texture designs, close to the camera for a few seconds so we on TH-cam can see properly, thanks. Couldn’t see your first mugs for your wedding either, it was moved as soon as you placed it, ‘in shot’. Your work techniques and ideas are soo amazing, incredible, thankyoooooo.

This is a terrific video full of great hand-building ideas. I am a pretty good potter, but this was definitely an educational leg up for me.
Would like to see more videos of you at work. Thanks.

With really soft clay, water works fine. For leather-hard pieces, a vinegar slip works best because it does NOT puff out the clay in the slip, so you avoid cracks at joints when drying.

This is only loosely related to the vid (even though I DID learn some things to try too!) there's one shot of the clay on a back shelf with what looks like a half dozen Gary bags in one area. Instantly reminded me of Fallout 3 and 'The Gary Vault'. 👍😁

You are a great teacher! however, since your video is meant also for viewers that are not your students - you need to show what you did also IN FRONT OF YOU, or to get the camera follow it. Great work.

Hi Scott. The textured drawer liner you mentioned with small dots might be from IKEA. I have something like that in my kitchen drawers, from IKEA’s Variera range.

Whoever was filming this needed to raise the camera. I was unable to see the very top of some of the form he was working on, when he raised it up off the banding wheel, because it was off camera at the top of the visual field.
