This is a very old j10.(J10a) .. The current j10's (j10c) have more powerful ws10 domestic engines, AESA radar and use Pl15 BVR missiles among many other critical upgrades. J10c is a very cool plane.
This is exactly the stuff I like to see on your channel. BVR is how almost all future air combat will be fought, and the fact that most of the DCS content focuses on WVR dogfighting gives many people false impressions. I would love to see more of similar scenarios to this, especially with mixed 5th and 4th gen teams like we'll most likely be seeing in future air combat.
I'm admittedly no expert on this, but I imagine BVR is how specifically American aircraft prefer operate in ideal conditions. I don't think that necessarily applies to all airforces in the world, nor does it apply under all circumstances. Imagine for example fighting over mountainous terrain, fighting in heavily-contested air space or fighting under EMCON.
@@halzan7467 well, MOP-II bombs hurt Godzilla pretty badly in _Shin Godzilla_ , so they could probably kill Kong. I kinda doubt that they could hit Kong if he’s monke flipping all over the place, though. He also has the advantage of monke.
It makes me think that's what wingman drones will be good for. He got 2 hits but got splashed cause he was still at altitude taking shots. Maybe we'll do the same one day sacrificing drones to take the risky shots.

But what if we have pilots/controllers make the decisions and have the AI execute them? AI have far more precision and endurance than any pilot, and early AI stupidity and predictability can be offset by human decisions. The horror of AI going stupid though...
Superb footage as always GS. Loved the camera flying into the air intake on the runway. I ONLY play against AI (bad anxiety problem around humans) and I've noticed the AI's behavior is a bit weird with commands. If you say "Engage Bandits" they will check their Radar and if they don't see anything they don't respond. What I find works better is to lock up a single-target and say "Attack my Target" and then switch to another target right after. AI wingman can be anywhere on the map and somehow he will know who to engage. Cheers!

IAI Lavi has design similarities with J-10, but the thing is, IAI Lavi didn't pass the testing stage and never entered production, while the J-10 was mass produced by the Chinese...

The PLAAF engages in regular simulated excercises with the RTAF, meaning that China can get data from NATO equipment while Thailand does the same with Russian/Chinese hardware

Those J-10s are J-10A that entered service in 2004, I wanna see the latest Chinese J-10C that entered service in 2018 with AESA radar and divertless supersonic inlet.
They would simply outclass these F-15s by launching their longer range PL-15 missiles so wouldn't be fun to watch that one sided contest. 4 J-10C carrying standard 4 PL-15 missiles load and 2 PL-10 each. It would make a total of 16 PL-15 missiles to hunt down just 2 F-15s 🤔😳

For example, the book "Lavi: The United States, Israel, and a Controversial Fighter Jet" by John Golan, lists the relative sizing and positioning of canards of the Lavi and many other delta-canards, including the J-10, and calculates the aerodynamic interaction between wing and canard. The Lavi's close-coupled canard was designed to have strong interaction with the wing to reduce it's induced drag, and the book shows a 34% increase in its Oswald efficiency (meaning a 25% reduction in induced drag). For the J-10 this is 13% increase in O.E. (11.5% reduction in induced drag).
These J-10A didn't have AESA radar but pulse Doppler radar. It's J-10B and J-10C which have AESA capable radars and J-10C now supports PL-15 missile with greater range and active AESA seeker head which would make that missile virtually immune to jamming and great ECCM capabilities.
hey can u maybe put some kind of notification or like a small symbol on screen to let us know when ur flaring and using countermeasures? I can see and follow along when you do manouvres but dont know when your flaring, this could really help.
You cant even find enough data to make a J10A sim. B and C are highly classified, especially J10C, since it likely has many technology also used on J20, like AESA radar, and PL15 missiles. Both are way too OP in DCS anyway.
@@qiyuxuan9437 the C variant is just better electronics and has a vector thrust engine. B is just A with better thrust due to 2 engines and has a secondary pliot.
@@lolasdm6959 B is still single seat. Unlike U.S where they use B and D for dual seat models, China use S, such as J10S, or J11BS, those are 2 seat model, which mostly used for training.
The newly upgraded version of J-10C (J-10CE specifically designed for the Pakistan Air Force to counter the Indian Air Force Rafale) is a more deadly thing. It has multiple upgraded features like lower weight, new China-built engine (WS-10B), IIR and missiles specifically designed for it.
Good video Sir thank you for the info about the J-10A Mod nice really nice now I was trying to fix one little issue the A/G weapons pylons that hold them for some reason they don't show I was trying to fix it but has soon has I change the lua in any way the MOD doesn't work no more other than that is an awesome MOD thanks and take care.
They wont do that any time soon. DCS is a hardcore flight simulator and if someone want to do a F-15EX for that sim, he needs access to the real world manuals which are, for the f15ex, all classified. But there is a F-15E currently in development for dcs.

You cant even find enough data to make a J10A sim. B and C are highly classified, especially J10C, since it likely has many technology also used on J20, like AESA radar, and PL15 missiles. Both are way too OP in DCS anyway.

B is just A with better thrust due to 2 engines and has a secondary pliot.
@@lolasdm6959 B is still single seat. Unlike U.S where they use B and D for dual seat models, China use S, such as J10S, or J11BS, those are 2 seat model, which mostly used for training.

The newly upgraded version of J-10C (J-10CE specifically designed for the Pakistan Air Force to counter the Indian Air Force Rafale) is a more deadly thing. It has multiple upgraded features like lower weight, new China-built engine (WS-10B), IIR and missiles specifically designed for it.

Good video Sir thank you for the info about the J-10A Mod nice really nice now I was trying to fix one little issue the A/G weapons pylons that hold them for some reason they don't show I was trying to fix it but has soon has I change the lua in any way the MOD doesn't work no more other than that is an awesome MOD thanks and take care.

Hoping that DCS will add the new F-15 EX or the Eagle II soon.
They wont do that any time soon. DCS is a hardcore flight simulator and if someone want to do a F-15EX for that sim, he needs access to the real world manuals which are, for the f15ex, all classified. But there is a F-15E currently in development for dcs.
It's just awesome to see the Rising Sun on a modern aircraft.
