The Rambler Rating System is the best I've seen too. I HATED the 5 star system before so when they explained and announced their method it was a completely "Oh hell yes!" Moment for me. A 5 star review system that's quantified and makes sense?! About bloody time!
I don't think I'll be getting close to Sun Eater anytime soon. After the recommendations for Red Rising didn't live up to my expectations, my reading took a different direction. I read Elsie Silver and it was fun, I'm flying through the Wheel of Time, I have a book where a character is high on cocaine and E and then gets hit by a car (the book is a quick read). Besides those two books, I have another one that has the BDSM tag but I haven't seen anything related to that, more like power play.
@@iSamwise oh man that's super tough to narrow it to 5 lol. In no particular order... right now my favorite is probably Kam Patterson, huge fan of Louis CK, Shane Gillis, Nikki Glaser, Chris Distefano, older Tom Segura, Theo Von, Matteo Lane, Sam Jay... I guess that's more than 5 already huh 😂
I'm just thinking in regards to lingo used in SA5, I haven't read it yet but, it seems to me this could be a problem when you're writing in a universe where different series can range from medieval to urban fantasy, or non cosmere projects being straight up sci fi. Because in Mistborn era 2, it's urban fantasy, so the kind of lingo being described in sa5 could be a lot more plausible with society on scadrial being like potentially two to three hundred years ahead of stormlight. So I am wondering how much of the secret novellas/skyward etc, has seeped into SA5 when Brandon was writing it. And we see where he's going with this, how everything is going towards and is essentially the foundations for that sci fi finale of the cosmere, and we're seeing that kind of set up with the technology and whatnot. And so I wonder if it's because Brandon knows where he's going with this, and having already written books in that setting that he's kind of getting ahead of himself in terms of what people expect from Stormlight specifically. Because when we get to Mistborn Era 4, at that point whatever lingo is used is justifiable right, gen z lingo is 2000's so what is the 4000's equivalent gonna look like?
@@KIRI77 yeah that's possible! Some more modern language coming in makes total sense if it's being used by a certain character who realistically would use those words, it's just a shame to see it not held consistent within SA, at least the characters contained within that timeline of roshar
Fun chat! Austin wanting to spite chat and not talk about books might be why he isn’t included in the favorites of the chat. Just maybe. lol 😂 Might also be why he’s one of my favorites. He can kinda be funny, sometimes, maybe. lol.
Lets gooo! 2toramble are amazing cause not only do they actually do book reviews, but they make long ones. GOAT

@@radudumanovschi3387 I'm sorry red rising didn't work for you! Glad you're enjoying some other things though :)
@@NerdLevelRising You have nothing to feel sorry for. In terms of science fiction, I prefer Jules Verne and Edgar Rice Burroughs.
