I'm not even a drummer, I literally know nothing about drumming. I'm here cuz I like to watch you play drums, especially like watching the faces you make while you play. I mean that in the least creepy way possible
Just set up my drums like this, except cheaper! Total cost about $20 Converted my bass pedal (cheap PDP) using a set of Hex wrenches. Built the remote hi hat stand using an old stand and a bicycle shift cable.
I'm left hand and have only started learning, and this video has helped inspire some much-needed changes to my set up. Thanks a bunch for a couple years later.
Left handed drummer and play open handed on a “right handed” kit. I honestly think this is the correct way to play. It is awesome to play with no crossing of hands. Add a floor tom to the left of the snare and you’re in business. I also play a “right handed” guitar and bass, again it seemed more natural to me, chord hand is my strong hand, strumming hand my weak hand. Makes sense to me.(edited per comment below)
I know this left handed guitarist who plays a right handed guitar. Dude can sweep the metal like no one else in our town, and I think a lot of it is that his dominant hand is on the fretboard.
Yeah, I'm right-handed but I've got my kit set up "lefty". Either foot ought to be able to kick just fine. May as well have my right foot control the thing my right hand is hitting 🤷
New to this but as a lefty my kit is setup right handed although I play the hi hat with my left and the snare is in between my legs, this feels very natural to me. I then actually lead the toms with my left and just play generally the left side of the kit with my left hand and the right side of the kit with my right hand. Snare pedal and bass pedals are at about 11 & 1 o’clock feels great to me.
Im a right handed drummer and play open handed on a right handed kit . Ive been playing since my adolescence and no one could get me to play cross handed it just feels more natural open handed
Harry...I switched my kit to this set up about 2 months after seeing your first video, only cause for some crazy reason it just makes sense...been playing like this ever since, and it has improved my abilities 10 fold!! Thank you, and I’m so glad your back, you truly keep me inspired!! Crazy or not!! Thanks Dude!!
I'm a left hand dominant individual, but I play open-handed on a basically traditional set-up. it works for me and I don't allow anyone to hinder my ways! keep up the good work
same here, i started off learning right handed but found it just kept me back, since then i just did what felt natural, left hand on hats, i do however also use my ride on the left as opposed to leaving it on the right, although lately i'm trying to play ride patterns on the right with my right hand.....
same, I used to play my right handed brothers kit but I'm left handed it so I naturally played it open, now the kit is mine and I left it set up how it was
Very interesting. When I first started teaching myself in high school, I played open and felt comfortable doing it. A year or so later, I started taking drum lessons and my teacher told me that it would just work better if I played traditional, so I retaught myself and have been traditional ever since. Years later I see that I could have played open and that one of my favs (Carter B) played open too! Kicked myself for sticking to traditional. Traditional is nice to know but I wish I stuck with playing open. Maybe some day I'll go the route of your set up. Thanks for taking the time to explain it.
This is how I would play if I could afford the remote hi-hat and double bass. I’m a right footed left handed lead and the way you have this set up is the way I would set up an e-drum. Thank you for showing this. Glad I’m not the only non-cookie cutter drummer out there.
Dude... Just tested your setup on my electronic drum kit and I freakin' love it! It just opens me up in an awesome way and makes so many new cool playing combinations available. I thought it was going to feel super weird, but it didn't.
This is GREAT! It's one of the most creative drumming videos that I've seen in a long time. It's adds a new definition to the old saying, "Do whatever you gotta do to get up for the game." Thanks for the inspiration!
I've been trying to learn open hand with a conventional setup. I'm still sort of a newbie, so maybe it will take hold, but doesn't not feel as natural as crossed. As I have an extra ride cymbal, going to put one near the hat to try that very cool technique you showed. Love your playing dude. Creative fills and rock solid groove. You are a star in the making for sure.
Oh my after 34 years of playing the drums properly I decided to give you a go and I've seen the light, oh my goodness what a difference, totally love it
You're videos have the perfect blend of comedy and information. For this 'mega groove video' could you play the intro section of Porcupine Tree's 'Blackest Eyes'?
Dude I think it’s awesome that you went back to what felt right to you logically as a new player and made it happen. You have created a style and sound that’s YOU based on your set up and the fact that your a monster player helps too. I wish you all the best and a continuous flow of good luck from the universe 🥁
Thank God I found your video. I'm coming back to playing after not playing for a decade. I set up my kit with the hi-hat on the right side of my kick to play open handed, because it was much more comfortable as a right-handed drummer. Thanks for showing me that I can be weird & wasn't going mad.
I do the same thing sometimes. Like you said, it leads you away from that tired textbook stuff. Gives you fresh ideas and new sticking options. Entertaining video, and your drums sound fantastic!
It means that he flashes his teeth all the time and it's fuckin weird. I like this channel, I like the great content. But I can't stand looking at this guy. It makes me feel strange. :D PS. And he has annoying voice.
I love his voice. Different people have different things that annoy them. It's impossible to please everyone so if you see something that isn't inherently wrong, just something you don't like, maybe don't comment. Because nothing is liked by everyone, and unconstructive negativity is why the internet is such a shithole.
I came up with this setup years ago after seeing Abe Laboriel Jr. move his bass drum to his left. After doing just that, I also moved the HH to my right on a cable hat as Harry has done and fell in love with this setup. Definite advantages to playing like this !! And he's right...it drives other drummers who sit in crazy. Not to mention sound techs who never have seen setups like this. Nice to see someone else who has the experimental drive in them....thanks Harry...er...Dude.
I love it. I opened up my hands about 15 years ago when I added a remote hat and was amazed at how much it changed my style for the better. I still kept my kit in a more traditional right handed configuration, and kept the old hat stand and pedal on the left. I just added a different enough sounding hat on the right. It's amazing what all you can do when you're opened up and playing in a more natural position.
Hi Dude, first Thanks so much for all the videos, they are always awesome and fun to watch. And second i really wishes that you play the awesome DMB - Sweet Up and Down
DUDE....... i am 43 and been behind a kit since my teenage days cross sticking but have always found it to be easier keeping time on my ride instead of hats. Then i came across this video!!!!! Good news is I already play the pearl demon drive double pedal so $$$ saved there. Just need to order the pearl rh2000 and ax25-l. which is awesome because i love buying gear but the last 5 years i have been financially successful and put together my dream kit. Thank you for posting this dude!!!!
Dude.....my pearl rh2050 came yesterday and the ax25l clamp should be here tomorrow. I had to order them from 2 different places because for some reason musicians friend don't stock the clamp. I will be tearing down my kit and redesigning it for open handed in the next few days. Is there anyway I could get a picture from above of your kit for layout purposes?
I didn't even know this was called open handed drumming but I always found it fascinating watching Billy Cobham! I assumed he was a lefty and just played a right handed kit. There's also a drummer here in Budapest that plays like this and it's so much fun watching his style. Thanks for this explanation, it was very informative.
I've played a messed up lefty/righty setup since I got my first kit back in the late 80s. It's nice to see that at least *someone* gets the fun of it! I finally got another kit after being benched with a brain injury since 2009 and my musician kids just look at it and chuckle. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Thanks for bringing such great energy to the throne Harry!
Oh man, I just got goosebumps. I've been wanting to pick up open handed playing ever since the joy of watching Carter Beaufort was seared into my retina. Thank you for this guide - it may just be the inspiration to finally dive in :)
I'm a beginner, I'm functionally ambidextrous but right hand dominant with writing. So learning to set up my kit to feel right, and finding out that I, in fact, do not have to play cross-handed, is such a relief. I feel like I am doing it all wrong and experienced drummers are going to make fun of me for it. After watching your left-handed setup being played right-handed, I'm definitely going to have to give that a try. You're awesome! :)
I simultaneously love and hate your setup haha XD As for my dream kit, I really want to have two hi-hats...one on the right and one on the left. Also, you deserve more views. It doesn't matter what you upload, I always enjoy your videos! Keep it up dude
Thank you so much. I've been playing the traditional way my whole life and I need a change. It's not like I haven't been aware of the limitations for years. It's that I've never put aside the time to do something about it. I have a Pearl remote hi hat stand sitting on the shelf. Time to take it down.
Dude, speaking of left and right, could you not pan your audio 100% to one side at times. Some of us rock sennheiser shitty phone headphones, with broken left earpiece! Think of us lowlives!
I've been playing drums for the past 18 years and you finally gave me an explanation as to why I play the way I do: I'm left handed, but I'm right footed. So, I play open, but my hh is still on the left side. It's just the natural way I started playing when I was 12. Thanks for solving this 18 yr old mystery that I didn't realize even had a real explanation.
I really appreciate your time and dedication to this volatile subject within our matched grip and traditional world. I decided to move my left hand over back in 1984 mainly because of a double bass kit and Simon Phillips and Billy Cobham. It has opened up a world of expression and freedom, so I applaud you for stepping out to show your softer side. Haters gonna hate.
great, i love originality. sometimes fear stops us from doing something great. this guy just reinvented the wheel in front our very eyes and we don't worship the guy and induct him into the hall of fame. you are in my top 5 drummers b/c of this man. 1-Thomas Lang (drumming scientific method) 2-dave weckl (creativivity, soul, mind and spirit 3- Tommy Igoe (groove essentials) 4- Jared Falk (online drumming father) 5- harry miree ( the chosen DUDE).
Schwiiiiing. I'm coming out of the crossed-hands closet and going open handed tonight. Great vid, perfect explanation and at the end of the day it must be right because Carter does it.
You told me to shut the video off. I said "You're not my REAL dad!" and blatantly disobeyed you. I am glad I did. I decided to flip my Alesis around a bit. And, much to the dismay of the module's wires; it has been amazing. One of the things I love, as a musician, is to have my creativity forced in a direction I am flexible with. My twist on your set-up has done wonders for my fill work. Thank you, dad.
Great channel man! You just made my day. I dont own a drum set but I used to play all the time on my friends kit when we were out gigging. My left foot acts like the "kick" foot, while my right acted like the one for the hi-hat (I think this is because I practiced in my car) - I wasnt sure if there was a configuration that would work, so i could "switch feet" but you answered my question. Great video!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I am a lifelong guitarist who by necessity went to bass guitar, and I am now moving to drums, again out of necessity, I am naturally left handed but I play guitar right handed. So Im all mixed up, dont know what to do, and this helped immensely.
Guitarist/bassist/mandolinist who just took up drums. I've always thought about open hand set ups ever since I first snuck behind my drummers set as a teen when they were in the restroom. Really tempted to buy a remote. Tnanks.
Dude. As a non-drummer subscriber and fan this video makes me want to try picking up the drums again. What you went through in your head when you designed this setup is exactly what I went through in my head during the few drum lessons i've received, where I left thinking, dude, that's so stupid, i think i'll just keep playing guitar.
I absolutely love your videos. I don't know if you write anything down ahead. Or if all this is off the cuff. Funny, articulate, informative and "snarky". And if your kit does look like a bathroom? It would have to be one in the Waldorf Astoria. Thanks for sharing!
The awkward moment when you're so beginner that you initially though this was the right way to play... Can cheap electronic drums become as custom as your configuration?
Excellent question dude sir. The short answer: it doesn't! I just keep it to the left because it at least creates the illusion of a more traditional kit (with a kick that appears centered relative to the rest o' the gear), which (1) helps me fit on drum risers and (2) helps my bosses feel like they've hired a real drummer and not some goober who doesn't know how to make drums look like they looked on MTV when we were kids. Make it your own though, dude! Thanks for the query \m/
I’m a leftie who learnt to play right handed. I use backline quite a bit and so glad I play right handed...that set up is so unorthodox, but as u said, can give u a unique approach👍
hingeslevers that is an interesting argument. May I play devils advocate and say there are many different techniques that are considered “correct” on drums? I agree with you that there is no ONE right ways to play, but there are certainly many techniques that are better than others.
I have never heard of "academically correct" drumming, however there are standardized methods and some gigs require they be met. For instance when I was in the Army and auditioned for the post Army band, I was rejected because I didn't have the proper "drum corp" type training although I had played in a High School marching band. It was a small school and we worked out our own routines and arrangements, and we sounded good enough to win some city wide awards. However, we were not "taught or trained" to the approved methods the U.S. Army requires. Mind you that lack of training never kept me from making money as a drummer for live performance or recordings, just the Army! So take that for what it's worth!
Wow! I'm not a freak after all. Learned drumming from watching drummers on TV at age 6 (1960) so I played like a lefty on a right handed kit. . I;ve always played that way and have been made fun of for 60 years. LOL! One positive though. Back in the late 1960s when every other local drummer was falling off their thrown trying to learn how to keep their balance while learning double base , I was way ahead of them balance wise. It came so natural. Love your channel man!
This is still such a wild choice to me. I'm a lefty drummer that plays open on a right handed kit because my first teacher didn't want to switch his kit around just for my lesson. It's always been a pain to connect my dominant hand with my non-dominant foot, plus having to lead with my right hand on my ride and most fills. But I think overall it's made me a better drummer. Fun video!
Dude, i just recently set up my electronic kit like this. It doesn't care where the pedals are. I have played for 20 years and this one weird trick seriously doubled my ability in about two days of playing. My left arm is no longer trapped and apparently it is good at stuff. I wasted so much time on baggage held over from mechanical limitations.
I enjoyed this video very much and it is the first one yours I've seen and I thought the disclaimers in the beginning was a good idea! As much as I agree with the idea of setting up and playing one's instrument to their own comfort, it does offer some drawbacks if it requires proprietary equipment not found on most available drum kits! (ie. remote cable driven hi hat, lefty double bass pedals) If one is only comfortable or able to play ONLY their own set up, that reduces their opportunities to jump in and play in any setting, (open mic, guest appearance, impromptu jams, etc.). Can you imagine passing up a once in a lifetime moment because you can't play a traditional setup? I've been drumming with bands since 1969 and I have experimented with all sorts of configurations because I am ambidextrous and wanted to exploit that with a unique set up that people would easily identify as my kit! I used to make hardware that wasn't commercially available to reach that end! After years of experimentations, I found that playing a more traditional lefty kit ( with a few custom pieces) was my best option. The custom pieces however are not deal breakers! Not so important to my set up that they keep me from playing anywhere, anytime, with anyone! And I would strongly suggest that any serious musician should focus on "being able and ready to play with anywhere, anytime with anyone"! Can you imagine much it would suck to have to pass up a once in a lifetime opportunity to play with your musical hero because you couldn't play on a traditional set up? Just the 2 cents of an old geezer that never had to pass up an opportunity to play and blessed to have played with some of my heroes. I hope this helps someone!
I used to play a kit with 4 tom toms stacked above each other plus 2 floor toms, hi-hat was in its traditional spot. When I listen to my demos from that era I played tom patterns and beats I never was able to do when I went to a traditional 5 piece. I definitely can appreciate how a creative drum set-up can enable drum fills and beats you wouldn't normally come up with if using a traditional set-up.
being left footed and right handed has always been a challenge to play a right handed kit. I've wanted to try this setup but wasn't sure how to redo my layout but now I do! Dude-riffic!
LOL! I came here thinking I was going to see a video on the free hand style of frame drumming; but very interesting and video anyway. I officially feel informed, educated, and "in the know".
so, I'm only like 4 years behind, but your setup is almost perfect for me. I'm left handed, play open handed on a righty drumkit. with yours i can play the kick with my right foot, as per usual, and us my left handedness to my advantage with triplets and such.
Great to see you again, Harry! Thx for all the tips on this subject, it's really helpful! If you take requests, I'd really like to hear you play #41. I'm also looking forward to your forthcoming video on e-drums ;-) Keep up the good work mate!
Oh, I almost forgot... I'd really like to hear your version of Limelight by the great Rush and Neil Peart! I'll leave you with that for now. 'til next time...take care dude!
thanks for the detailed suggestions on equipment. I have the pearl stand and couldn't figure out exactly a) how I could best squeeze it in next to kick and b) what kind of clamp I need to actually get to stand up and not bump into other crap. tremendous vid that will surely help other right-handed Carter wannabes like me transition to open-handed
Thanks! Loved the video. I hope to one day open it up. Some say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. In regards to covers, I'm down with whatever you get around to posting (except Polka tunes)...just keep em coming!
I always had a snare in my right hand, playing on a right hand setup. I was thinking I'm a caveman playing like this and it turned out that Billy Cobham plays like this too. My mind was liberated! Thanks Harry for this cool vid.
Open handed feels so natural when you get used to it. Freeing up the left hand from the right really opens new possibilities. Also, you should totally to “Ebony Jam” by Tower of Power. That’d be totally dudedly awesome.
So.... Which cup holder is YOURS at the movies theaters???
As MrSark would say: "BOTH!"

Dante Wilkins left but he picks up and drinks with his right hand

I was here for the cowbell. Thank you for adding it. I am satisfied.

Ah, a talentless bitch that's jealous. Cute.
Same yo. His faces are cool. XD
His drums look like a bathroom literally , the white shells with gold hardware reminds me of sinks, toilets n stuff dunno why
you have gold......in your bathroom??
Just set up my drums like this, except cheaper! Total cost about $20
Converted my bass pedal (cheap PDP) using a set of Hex wrenches.
Built the remote hi hat stand using an old stand and a bicycle shift cable.
6:50 "THIS IS NOT NORMAL, AND I CAN'T DO MY GO-TO RIGHT-HANDED LICK AND I *REJECT* IT"!!! LOL I laughed so hard there.

That part of the video literally played as i read ur comment
Open handed tip number 6, tell that drummer to suck it up cause he's lucky youre letting him borrow your kit.
I'm left hand and have only started learning, and this video has helped inspire some much-needed changes to my set up. Thanks a bunch for a couple years later.

being a lefty drummer, who plays a righty set, this set
up is total ingenuity maximus, way to dude!
Ayyyyy same
I thought I was having a stroke...I'm left handed, tried your set up...hat on right changed my journey...you are tubular dude!
WHY YOU HAVE NO MOAR VIEWS!!?
I do the same thing sometimes. Like you said, it leads you away from that tired textbook stuff. Gives you fresh ideas and new sticking options. Entertaining video, and your drums sound fantastic!
could you please prefocus your video
He could try saying "M" with closed mouth too.

Harry: So I bought a Pearl remote hi-hat stand.
Me: Sounds like a good idea. *checks price*
Me: Nevermind..
I’ve been playing drums my whole life. Traditional. Thanks to you I’m now open handed. And I love it. It frees me to do whatever.

The chorus of Clockwork Angels by Rush has a pretty cool tom groove. Just a suggestion for the mega groove video.

Lots of Tool requests. Ended up with Lateralus. Rock: th-cam.com/video/PiSf-BtOERo/w-d-xo.html
Regő Józsa wait, like a 4 pedal setup or a permanently closed hi hat
@@juno980 We may never know...
I ALWAYS enjoy seeing drummers who maintain a real sense of humor! Well done Harry!
This is not normal and I can’t do my go-to right-handed lick and I reject it!
Yeah this set up is cool but it is about as complicated and confusing as Harry himself. Which is a total compliment
Ilkka Urpi yes same
Genius!!!! Been playing since 70's, and am going to re-configure my kit today!!! Subscribed! Mucho thanks, Harry!!!!
still don’t know which cup holder is mine dude
I've been playing drums for the past 18 years and you finally gave me an explanation as to why I play the way I do: I'm left handed, but I'm right footed. So, I play open, but my hh is still on the left side. It's just the natural way I started playing when I was 12. Thanks for solving this 18 yr old mystery that I didn't realize even had a real explanation.
I think you'd be an awesome guest on Drumeo, just a thought. Maybe I'll see you on there one day 👍
Noice
Dude...soo liberating. I wound up focusing on training my left hand to allow for open playing, but am now inspired to get the cable hat!
What so I’m not weird? I got a prototype Gibraltar wire hat stand and LOVED having my hats on the right. Everyone thought I was weird. Hmm
Harry, would be awesome if you showed us your take on Seven by DMB :)
Man, I am LOVING your videos! Also suffer from the 100 questions a day about my open handed playing!
Hey Harry, can you please do Drive in, Drive out by Dave Matthews Band
YESSS
+MardukFilms i would love to see what Harry will do with 'Drive in, Drive out' on a lefty kit.
I would be especially excited for the last minute of the song :)
great, i love originality. sometimes fear stops us from doing something great. this guy just reinvented the wheel in front our very eyes and we don't worship the guy and induct him into the hall of fame. you are in my top 5 drummers b/c of this man.
1-Thomas Lang (drumming scientific method) 2-dave weckl (creativivity, soul, mind and spirit 3- Tommy Igoe (groove essentials) 4- Jared Falk (online drumming father) 5- harry miree ( the chosen DUDE).
Please play the groove at 2:26 from Dillinger Escape Plan's Highway Robbery!
Dude!
Dude indeed! th-cam.com/video/PiSf-BtOERo/w-d-xo.html
Schwiiiiing. I'm coming out of the crossed-hands closet and going open handed tonight. Great vid, perfect explanation and at the end of the day it must be right because Carter does it.
Dude! How much were your teeth?
You told me to shut the video off. I said "You're not my REAL dad!" and blatantly disobeyed you. I am glad I did. I decided to flip my Alesis around a bit. And, much to the dismay of the module's wires; it has been amazing. One of the things I love, as a musician, is to have my creativity forced in a direction I am flexible with. My twist on your set-up has done wonders for my fill work. Thank you, dad.
I'm literally watching this while doing calculus homework 😂
Great channel man! You just made my day. I dont own a drum set but I used to play all the time on my friends kit when we were out gigging. My left foot acts like the "kick" foot, while my right acted like the one for the hi-hat (I think this is because I practiced in my car) - I wasnt sure if there was a configuration that would work, so i could "switch feet" but you answered my question. Great video!
you didnt tell us which cupholder is yours... cmon dude
Dude. You're awesome. Thanks for keeping professional level drumming fun like a legend
He never said which cup holder in the theater is mine :(
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I am a lifelong guitarist who by necessity went to bass guitar, and I am now moving to drums, again out of necessity, I am naturally left handed but I play guitar right handed. So Im all mixed up, dont know what to do, and this helped immensely.
Just add the AUX hat to the right side? It's cool that you did all that, but why not keep a traditional set-up and add the right sided HH?
PNW Sportbike Life - Or for that matter, put them in the middle so both hands can access them equally
Ah, the Danny Carey way
Exactly what I thought, and did on my setup.
Guitarist/bassist/mandolinist who just took up drums. I've always thought about open hand set ups ever since I first snuck behind my drummers set as a teen when they were in the restroom. Really tempted to buy a remote. Tnanks.
Carter Beauford !!!
Dude. As a non-drummer subscriber and fan this video makes me want to try picking up the drums again. What you went through in your head when you designed this setup is exactly what I went through in my head during the few drum lessons i've received, where I left thinking, dude, that's so stupid, i think i'll just keep playing guitar.
Roasting UAB. Tbh their jazz ensemble is top notch
I absolutely love your videos. I don't know if you write anything down ahead. Or if all this is off the cuff. Funny, articulate, informative and "snarky". And if your kit does look like a bathroom? It would have to be one in the Waldorf Astoria. Thanks for sharing!
As Someone who lives in Alabama and very close to Birmingham, don't go there for music lol.
Whoa! Just switched my kit around and this is so much better!!! Thank you!
Ninja Turtle Band-aid lol
20 year righty here....MIND BLOWN! I have assimilated the format. I am at least 5x more creative because of it. All hail Harry.
The awkward moment when you're so beginner that you initially though this was the right way to play...
Can cheap electronic drums become as custom as your configuration?
I have thought about this setup in the past but never moved on it. Thanks for the inspiration!
But why does the bass drum need to be on the left?
Excellent question dude sir. The short answer: it doesn't! I just keep it to the left because it at least creates the illusion of a more traditional kit (with a kick that appears centered relative to the rest o' the gear), which (1) helps me fit on drum risers and (2) helps my bosses feel like they've hired a real drummer and not some goober who doesn't know how to make drums look like they looked on MTV when we were kids. Make it your own though, dude! Thanks for the query \m/
Add a 26” bassdrum on your right foot! Will look killer!
I’m a leftie who learnt to play right handed. I use backline quite a bit and so glad I play right handed...that set up is so unorthodox, but as u said, can give u a unique approach👍
There is no academically correct way to play drums.
hingeslevers that is an interesting argument.
So take that for what it's worth!
hingeslevers I like the way ü think about that.
Dude thank you so much I swear I'm the only one that plays like this
This is still such a wild choice to me.
(ie. remote cable driven hi hat, lefty double bass pedals)
If one is only comfortable or able to play ONLY their own set up, that reduces their opportunities to jump in and play in any setting, (open mic, guest appearance, impromptu jams, etc.).
I hope one day to find anything that excites me a fraction as much as you seem to enjoy yourself.
Great to see you again, Harry! Thx for all the tips on this subject, it's really helpful! If you take requests, I'd really like to hear you play #41. I'm also looking forward to your forthcoming video on e-drums ;-) Keep up the good work mate!
And... while I'm at it.. I'd love to hear a Harry Miree version of Genesis' Turn it on again. It's in 13/8, which I think is a nice groove! :-)
Oh, I almost forgot... I'd really like to hear your version of Limelight by the great Rush and Neil Peart!
I'll leave you with that for now. 'til next time...take care dude!
7:42 to 7:55 was sooooo catchy dude, a really good utilisation for ur kit set up. Sold me on ur style even tho I’d never use it.
I've been wondering about your kit for AGES. Just stumbled across this, thank you for the explanation. Looks awesome!
thanks for the detailed suggestions on equipment. I have the pearl stand and couldn't figure out exactly a) how I could best squeeze it in next to kick and b) what kind of clamp I need to actually get to stand up and not bump into other crap. tremendous vid that will surely help other right-handed Carter wannabes like me transition to open-handed
Finally, my brain makes sense with what my hands what to do! Why haven’t I found this before, thank you, Sir. You are a gentleman and a scholar!
Dude you look like you're squeezing out a deuce every time your stick touches a drum. You truly love what you do.
