Trail Head?? where in Missouri, nobody ever says where they are, as if Everyone knows where every thing is.?????????????, I'm in Reynolds County and have not a clue where you are.
Jackie, point taken. I maybe should have included a graphic of a map of Missouri showing exactly where Ozark Trail runs and where Pilot Knob, MO is located. Also, you may want to watch the video again and watch for these: Title of video in first few seconds: "Barton Fen TH to Hwy A" Those are the beginning and ending trail heads (TH). 4:05 min mark: Graphic: "Ft. Davidson Hotel in Pilot Knob, MO" That's where we stayed. Pilot Knob is on most MO maps. 5:01: Graphic: "Barton Fen TH to Wolf Pen Hollow" 5:15: Audio says: "Here we are at the Hwy A trailhead" 5:41: "Hwy A TH" 7:01: audio says: " on our way to Barton Fen TH with our driver Mary" 7:05: audio says: "we have arrived at Barton Fen TH" 7:32: audio says: "we are starting from the Barton Fen TH" 18:36: Graphic: "Hwy A TH/Car" 19:04: Graphic: "Back to car @ Hwy A TH" 19:28: Graphic: "Ozark Trail Association: www.ozarktrail.com" I highly recommend the Ozark Trail Association website. Lots of great maps showing precise location of trail, trailheads, planning information, trailhead information, etc. Or you can do a simple Google search for "Ozark Trail, Missouri". I will now take my own advice and do a search for "Reynolds County". Happy hiking!
@@EricREvans have tried to research exactly where the OT crosses the Current river, so far no luck, i was raised close to the Current and have hiked and camped it all my life, Paradice to me . Thank you.
@@jackiesanders489 Check out this link to the "maps" section of Ozark Trail Association. Shows map of entire trail with links to detailed sections of the trail: www.ozarktrail.com/maps/ One of the detail maps is titled "Current River" and might be what you are looking for. Find that at this link: www.ozarktrail.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/current_river_maps.pdf "Current River" section map shows trail crossing Current River at Mo Hwy 106 with "Powder Mill Trailhead" and parking area right by bridge on south side of highway. I have heard and read that Current River area of Ozark Trail is really pretty and great place to hike.
Great video, thanks for sharing. You managed to capture the feel of the Missouri Backcountry well. I gotta say though... I had my doubts when I saw how loaded down your packs were... But you guys did it. Hope to see more adventures in the future.
Thanks for positive feedback. Yes, packs were heavy but we like a lot of 'creature comforts' and took our time; no speed records were set. Volunteers who maintain trail should take a lot of pride in what they have accomplished; OT is great!
