The double-barrel slug is so different from all the other slug variants that it was a mistake to _not_ include it. For one, it's the only slug without an optical sight, and for another, it's the shotgun with the longest effective range in the game. I've made kills from well over 100 meters with it. It also has the highest damage potential out of all the slug variants; I don't think I've ever had a hitmarker with it below 25 meters. I definitely have with the 10-A Slug.
The sjogren is my favourite. The reload is very quick, and the fire rate, 1 shot kill. Once I hid in objective e on fort de voux and went on a 20 kill streak, it's just such a good gun. Also the best looking and best sounding shotgun, it sounds so loud and terrifying for your enemies. Not the model 10 because you get like a second between kills, or the trench gun because it's harder to kill and has a lengthy reload
Model 1900 slug is better than the 1900 factory. It has more versatility and can get +100 (full kills) from about 50 meters or more with 2 shots. Model 1900 factory is for plebs who rely on widespread in close quarters. I still gotta give respect to this list though, at least you're not a douche running around with a Model 10-A.
Sometimes, but, being a shotgun if your target is still standing after the first shot you’re screwed because of the rate of fire, that’s why I would prefer the trench gun

They must have fixed the sjogen in the ttk because when it first came out it was worse than the 12g auto, you would mag dump into someone and do 0 damage at point blank
I think it was down to them getting rid of the completely random pellet patterns. Gives all the shotguns some consistency that they didn't have before.

Fun fact, the shells for every shotgun uses brass shells instead of paper shells. This is due to paper shells often getting muddied up, rendering them unusable.
The 12g automatic isn't really that bad to me. I'm used to spamming and reloading it a lot like the QBS-09 was from Battlefield 4, which this gun seems to be statistically similar to.

Bowen Gunther I wasn't much of a semi auto shotgun user aside from the QBS and the DAO-12. My most used shotgun (I think) is the Hawk. If you put a full choke on it, it can annoy a TDM lobby easily with its debatably broken range... well as long as you enemies aren't planning on using cover.
It's unfair ranking the 12 G Automatic at last because a one shot kill isn't what you're looking for when you pick a semi auto shotgun. Even with it's two shot kill, it still outdamages the Automatico.
Sjogren was a total beast after the TTK patch because it was bugged and was firing 13 pellets of damage instead of 12 like all the other shotguns after the damage remodel. That extra damage was great! Its been my go to shotgun for a while now, its really forgiving because of its rate of fire. Love your keep it up mate!
Personally, the Model 1900 will always be my favourite, not only because of the gameplay features but also because it just looks, feels and sounds really nice.
For me, M1897 is my favourite, and I have killed more than 1k enemy with it, more than twice as my 2nd best weapon. I admit that M10A has decent power and range, but the rate of fire will put you in a disadvantage while facing multiple enemies. Although Sjogren can one shot kill an enemy with higher rate of fire, sometimes I only deal slightly damange when ADS and shot to an enemy at close range, just like 12g, which is very strange, so I hardly use it.
The 12g extended is honestly a devastating shotgun if you use it correctly. I always felt more comfortable with the 12g extended when I faced off against a crowd of enemies because of the fire rate, and honestly, if you're up close with the shotgun, you can rip people apart

My favourite is double barrel slug. Since I upgraded my PC and can play with high FPS, I go on super high octane streaks with double barrel slug. If you constanly move, have good aim and fast reaction time, you can kill 2 people before they even see you, run, reload and repeat. Great video as always.
No. A lack of rifling does no equate to more drop. The rate of drop on literally everything (discounting air resistance, which in most cases, is negligible) is 9.8m/s^2 all bullets fall the same distance in the same amount of time, the only thing that effects the felt/seen effects of the drop is velocity. For example, a .45 acp bullet travels around 850 feet per second (259 meters) and 12g slug travels at around 1600 feet per second (487 meters) or nearly double the .45 acp If both are shot at a target 100 meters away without compensating for drop, the slug would fall just under .2 meters where as the .45 would fall just over .7 meters, despite being shot out of a rifled barrel.
The model 10a slug is easily one of the most fun of all of them with how insane its hip fire accuracy can be. Pair that with a close range map like argonne and 30-40 kill games are a breeze
Carrying the Model 1900 forces me to close the distance and REALLY puts me in to the action and I love it because of that! It tends to make you feel like you're playing Doom (Also I love the fact that I have to move differently in order to make it effective)
I know that nobody probably cares or will read this but here we go:( I researched this) The M95 Trench shotgun in battlefield one has a very bad range because it has no chokes. It had a somewhat innovative design but lacked the ability to use chokes.For those of you who don't know a choke makes the end of the barrel smaller therefore adding range but limiting the spread of the pellets up close.
My favorite shotgun in bf1 is the trench gun, SPECIFICALLY THE HUNTER variant. I just like it theres no exact reason by i like it because it has the damage, almost, as a pump action but the speed of, almost a semi auto. its just good. Its the ¨Jack of all trades¨ in my opinion.
The Winchester is nice, the slam fire action allows you to empty quickly and I tend to tense up and get a little shaky so my aim might be a bit off on for say the Model 10 or Model 1900, but I still roll with both.
I recently tried to play with shotguns and man it is fun...managed like 50 kills on 2 games. Ill try the rest of them since im still stick with the Hellfighter for now. The ultimate chad weapon.
Model 10-A Slug is my go to when I need to go after vehicles with the assault class, while still having good medium infantry reach. The damage drop off is a bit steep though and you may need 3-4 shots at distance to do 100% damage, which is kind of ridiculous. But I understand why Dice wanted to balance the gun and basically not allow assault players to run toe to toe with scouts. That said, taking out snipers with shotgun slugs is just insanely satisfying :)
Thot Destroyer Yeah there are many people that own it. It was the first inertial shotgun and its design is one of the best ones. It never failed in my hands and I just love the glamour around it haha
Model 1900 slug has been my recent favorite shotgun. It isn't the most effective but I find it pretty fun to use. Sjogren inertial has been my favorite shotgun if I want to get up close and personal and really put out damage.
Quite personally I like the 12g simply because it's a shotgun that can minimise certain errors such as hitreg and lag, meaning it does not have to rely (And shouldn't) on kill or die situation. Another reason is the fact that it has an incredible DPS when spamming like a pistol. In other terms, it dumps a lot of pellets in little time.
Model 10 A is the worst shotgun, only effective a close range with medium rate of fire and many hitmarkers and most players that use it are hide noobs camper......but i take them down with my m97, THE REAL BEST SHOTGUN.......for me😂😉
Knuckles Sonic actually it has the best range and damage paired with the m1900 Let me guess you always miss with it or hit a just 2 pellets so you want a faster fire rate
The french shotgun is my favourite shotguns in battlefield games are never consistent so the french shotgun gives u a fast follow up shot. I can’t wait for the slug variant to come out
I personally love the 12g automatic because it’s really fun to spam shotgun shells in tight spaces so that even if I miss the first shot, I can keep blasting repeatedly.
I also pair it with one of your least favorite pistols, the gasser m1870, since it’s better at medium ranges compared to other pistols since for close range engagements, I use the shotgun.
The hellfighter trench gun is most likely a factory variant since it doesn’t have any choke on it, which means the hellfighter dlc actually gives players a new weapon.
The Sjogren Factory and the M97 Trench Gun Hunter are my most beloved shotguns. In fact, I do plan to get 100 SS stars with the Trench Gun Hunter: it actively promotes to keep pushing towards the objective.

The damage drop off is a bit steep though and you may need 3-4 shots at distance to do 100% damage, which is kind of ridiculous. But I understand why Dice wanted to balance the gun and basically not allow assault players to run toe to toe with scouts. That said, taking out snipers with shotgun slugs is just insanely satisfying :)

1900 is so good to use. Nothing feels better than killing a group of 4 guys on a corner with two shells and squad wiping them. So good :)

Model 1900 slug has been my recent favorite shotgun. It isn't the most effective but I find it pretty fun to use. Sjogren inertial has been my favorite shotgun if I want to get up close and personal and really put out damage.

Quite personally I like the 12g simply because it's a shotgun that can minimise certain errors such as hitreg and lag, meaning it does not have to rely (And shouldn't) on kill or die situation. Another reason is the fact that it has an incredible DPS when spamming like a pistol. In other terms, it dumps a lot of pellets in little time.
Model 10 A is the worst shotgun, only effective a close range with medium rate of fire and many hitmarkers and most players that use it are hide noobs camper......but i take them down with my m97, THE REAL BEST SHOTGUN.......for me😂😉

The double barrel is probably my favourite because of the doom fire. It plays like the blunderbuss in cod ww2 which i loved.
The 10a slug is so much fun on Monte Grappa in operations. So many areas have just the right range to make it absolutely killer.
The problem with the Model 10-A is that if you miss one shot and the enemy sees you, you're dead, because you don't have time for a second shot

The french shotgun is my favourite shotguns in battlefield games are never consistent so the french shotgun gives u a fast follow up shot. I can’t wait for the slug variant to come out

I personally love the 12g automatic because it’s really fun to spam shotgun shells in tight spaces so that even if I miss the first shot, I can keep blasting repeatedly.
I also pair it with one of your least favorite pistols, the gasser m1870, since it’s better at medium ranges compared to other pistols since for close range engagements, I use the shotgun.

I feel like the trench gun is WILDLY miss-ranked here, as the hunter variant absolutely shreds as well as the shotgun having slam fire.
The hellfighter trench gun is most likely a factory variant since it doesn’t have any choke on it, which means the hellfighter dlc actually gives players a new weapon.
The Sjogren Factory and the M97 Trench Gun Hunter are my most beloved shotguns.
In fact, I do plan to get 100 SS stars with the Trench Gun Hunter: it actively promotes to keep pushing towards the objective.
I LOVE the model 1900 based off pure fun, it is so satisfying to shoot and kill with, but from a competitive standpoint, it’s merely ok
