I personally love KONE equipment when it’s in a machine room like this. The cars are always well built and the motors and controller are well designed. It’s not like the crappy MRL’s which always have flat cartops and a tiny little motor that’s barley supported. While these motors are well supported. I thought KONE outsourced to other companies for their drives on the MX32 because it’s basically two motors running one sheave. The fact it only has one drive probably means it’s not fast enough for that outsourcing application. However I believe this is only for KONE Alta because they run on a special controller and an Alta I’ve ridden had the MX40 machines make a squeaking noise which means the drives were outsourced. Now MX18’s are cool but MX32’s are cooler. The fact you got to see both in one motor room makes me jealous, because I’ve seen MX18 units before. I’m happy you got to experience these and I give these elevators a 9/10. Edit: I noticed the RPM was 89 for both machines, which was the same RPM for the MX18 I saw which means it goes at a speed of 350 FPM. (2:1 roping) The elevators don't move for very long assuming the mechanic placed calls from top to bottom, meaning this setup is super overkill because it only served a few floors. It's even more overkill that they used an MX32 for a speed of 350 FPM (1.765 m/s) at a capacity of 5,000 lbs. This setup is epic and amazing!
It's a mixed bag... There's the loss of elegance from the forms and curves of the older machine bodies made of cast metals... but there's also a certain sleek beauty in the modularity of the combination of generic frames, sheaves, armatures, brakes, proxy sensors, etc...
at 0:12 it shows a beautiful example of a lazy person also i like how they have mx 18's as passengers and mx 32's as services. Ik this is off topic but does anyone know what motor does that massive american dream mall kone freight that talks has?
This is a certified YOOOOOO moment! I’m very very jelly!! 😭

Seems like KONE now uses KDH drive for MX32 and above.
That sheave is HUGE
How do you tell apart the mx40 and mx32, looking on the internet they look the exact same just maybe slightly different diameters
Kone brakes are LOUD when you right next to them lol. I remember when I was in an MX18 machine room I would jump back lol
Wow! I love seeing a good video of a MX32 machines because I like there MX32 and higher range of motors.
Impressionnant, il y a la même configuration au tribunal de paris au 39 sur 2 Monte-charge.
Great breaks

I agree
El ascensor de tracción tiene un motor de corriente continua llamado motor de CC
Woah, MX32 is really powerful. May I ask what capacity (and speed) is that lift?
5000 lbs
@@Jowevator3219 If it was high speed then that's understandable lol
@@elevator_satellite it’s 350 FPM (1.765 m/s) and looks like it only goes like four stops, same for the MX18 unit.
PERIOD!!!

Shit that is sick
Mx18 and mx 32
Wow the breaks sound like a shotgun fire. please do not put the fingers on the breaks
This brake noise is ruining my peace (penthouse)
