The only original member onstage is the FOREIGNER logo. Pretty decent cover band. They may as well have three or four different versions of Foreigner and they can tour different parts of the world all at the same time. It's just a licensing thing at this point. More money can be made for the license holder.

Without Thom Gimbel saxophone it doesn't really sound like "Urgent". Do appreciate Michael Bluestein efforts but that is different... Thom,we miss you!
The trouble being the sad fact that Lou hasn't sounded like himself since his brain tumor surgery so when I saw the new lineup in June '05 for the first time which was only their second show performing in concert I came away thoroughly impressed. Let me state beforehand that Lou has always been my favorite rock vocalist and that will NEVER change but facts are facts and Lou simply wasn't getting it done post-surgery. I saw them 20 times during the '99, 00, and '02 tours and kept waiting for the big breakthrough in his vocals which never happened...and the shows suffered for it. He's no Lou Gramm in his prime but Kelly has the vocal chops to make it work and the (then) new rhythm section with Jeff Pilson and Jason Bonham gave the shows new life. They kicked butt but I will admit I felt a little dirty during their show as I felt like I was cheating on Lou or something..just felt wrong. My wife likes Foreigner but she's not a diehard fan like I am and only one minute into their show she turned to me and said they sound great. It was a BIG improvement when compared to when Lou was fronting the band post-surgery. I saw the new lineup in concert a handful of times but I stopped going after the '07 tour when the setlist was getting stale...same songs in the exact same order show after show after show....not to mention the greatest hits setlist which I find boring as a day-one fan. Now with Tom retired and Mick sometimes isn't out there at all and when he does perform it's on a limited amount of minutes...no thanks. And I consider it almost criminal for them to tour without an instrumentalist who can play a mean sax...not with songs like Urgent in their setlist.

I agree on the sax.That is the best part of the song, just check out their videos on "URGENT ", you see the sax playing for a long, long time, the C D also ,it is totally kick ass.To me it was like they was in a hurry to get the f#$ k out of there.What was they thinking that no one would notice that.GO OUT AND GET A DAMN SAXAPHONE PLAYER,hell bill Clinton could even play a kick ass sax.I will not go back and see that B/S again.The band from Florida was better than foreigner, kelly you and your promoter ,tour manager whatever it is better wake up ,don't trick us with that whatever was supposed to be like a sax.SMH.

It is what it is though. Their farewell tour kicks off this year and ends next year.

If you never saw the original band with a sax playing in this song u would think this was done just fine. If your going to try and duplicate a band do it right with all the instruments in the song. It’s already a water down version of the song as it is so why water it down even further with no sax?
