I’d like to see what they look like on men who wear their hearing aids with hair above their ears. I’ve seen pics but only of women with hair over their ears.

Background music playing over dialogue ( like on this video) is my biggest problem.

How do people with SSD handle finding the right jobs for yourself?

CrowdPleeza it is tough. I work long hours in a noisy call centre environment and go home absolutely exhausted from having to concentrate so hard to hear what is going on. People know I am deaf in one ear but they don't understand that I struggle when there is lots of background noise and sometimes they play music which is just hell. The money is good though so what can I do? Most jobs involve communicating in often noisy environments. I'd love to work in a monastery haha

I was wondering about people with hearing aids trying to get jobs where they wear ear plugs like in most plant and factory jobs? I'm thinking people can't wear their hearing aids and ear plugs at the same time. So do people with hearing aids avoid jobs that provide ear plugs?

CrowdPleeza I left my previous job since leaving my comment. I now work in a much better job for me but I still struggle with hearing.
I had an operation for a BAHA earlier this year though so if I did need to wear earplugs I could (I don’t need to though ).

Good luck with your BAHA. I've been keeping up with the various research being done on finding cures for deafness like gene therapy and some other approaches. They can now regrow damaged hair cells in mice restoring their hearing. Hopefully this will lead to the same for people in the near future.

CrowdPleeza I have SSD and a loud job. My hearing aids have noise reduction.
