    Hey mate really like the videos.
    Were using the same spreader but with centre discs and spread 36m no worries at all.
    In the videos you only show that you drive across the trays once, bu you also drive the runs next to the trays before you check them? The spreaders throws 240ft basically so I'll overlap all the way to your next runline. So youll have to spread 3 runs to get a good result in the trays.
    Hope you're getting some more rain today🤞

    Hey JH great video. Have you ever tried a spreader without that crazy over engineered folding belt system? Our trays are always very even across the spread. I always see more in the centre with that thing of yours from overlap..? Keep up the great work mate from New Zealand.

      Yer it does take a lot of setup to get right, but when you do it is worth it.
      Last time we had a spreader with the spinners in the centre was a very old marsh spreader that didn't do a very good job. We then went to contractors who used the same setup that we have now and was very happy with the result so when it was time for us to get a spreader I went of this option.
      For my next spreader I might go away from them but if you do then you need to have a curtin so that you are able to spread lime and gypsum to 12m evenly

      @@tomsbrookfarm Thanks JH, having spent my working life with centre driven spinners and being the man on the tools in the winter I just cannot see any benefit and/or extra headaches from that thing. We have great back up and service nationwide here in NZ for most brands but I will certainly try for an Unverferth unit with tracks to get the capacity, even spread and get rid of the pitching on the drawbar, we dealt with drawbar drawn equipment and axles towards the rear like that thing and no one could sit in the cab all day. Just throws the tractor around so violently. Why don't these manufacturers just shift the axle forward 12 inches and up rate the axle for extra weight.? Thanks so much for the reply. You do a bloody great job mate. And look after your gear to the highest standard, you're only as good as your workers but their performance is only as good as their instructor/teacher.
      What a great way to see what to buy and what not to buy.

    The go pro from on top of spinners looks like there’s a fair bit of product not going jnto the centre and out the veins. Is that supposed to happen?

    • @tomsbrookfarm
      @tomsbrookfarm  ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest Sam I'm not sure, probably not. But with only spreading to 24m it's ok. If I was to try spreading to 36m then I would need to make sure that it was all going where it is meant to.

      @@tomsbrookfarm I’ve only ever used a contractor so it’s all voodoo to me! I thought these bredal were capable of doing over 40m though.
      We’ll probably end up with a linkage spreader to match 13.5/40.5m trams

    Hi JH. Love the channel. Absolutely newbie here but you mention getting uneven spread and then at about 16min 4 seconds in the slow motion shot you can see maybe 15% hitting the outside of the disk rather than dropping into the middle? Wonder if that leads to too much close to the spreader and too little out wide?

    • @tomsbrookfarm
      @tomsbrookfarm  ปีที่แล้ว

      It would definitely come into play when trying to go out to the bigger spread pattern. That’s why I just stayed at 24m(80 feet) so I didn’t have to mess around with everything 😂

    how reliable is the Liugong loader? i guess urea is still fairly pricey....

    • @tomsbrookfarm
      @tomsbrookfarm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have had a good run with it. Had it for over 10 years and its nearly at 3000hours. Had a few issues with fuel pump and hydraulics leaking every now and then but all and all its a very good loader.
