Pretty sad that this is so commonplace. I’ve had multiple leaks in our new Travato from where they put flex vinyl tubing on PEX fittings that weren’t designed for it. Using the warranty is a joke as they can’t get you in for weeks and then it takes another 2 weeks to get things fixed. And after all the waiting, they don’t fix it correctly. Better to just do it yourself so you know it’s right. You’re so right when you say your 2 year old van is probably better that it was new. Thanks for filming your adventures!
@@goldie74 Yep, that’s where I first heard about the RV Flair-it fittings that make it easy to go from PEX to flex. I’ve used several of his tips to fix our leaks.
I tell my nieces, find someone handy!! 😊 I found one too and they are priceless . Although I complain I never get anything new because he fixes everything 😂. Good job on the fix Bob!
These people are doing the Lords work.Everytime i get the urge to buy a ClassB Campervan i watch you guys struggle with yours and it ABSOLUTELY KILLS THE URGE TO BUY.thank you for saving me at least $100k!!!!!
I was lucky enough to buy a 2022 LTV UTB.They just won their 11th quality award in a row. Never had an issue, when you open up panels the quality of work they do is impressive. They actually mark all their wires to the system they belong on. It crazy that manufacturers cut corners.
Bob you are a gem . Plumbing looks like a bunch of teenagers put the system in ! Imagine how much money the average person with no skills would have spent on repairs? Really shoddy work from manufacturers. Very difficult access to this . Makes me happy with my simple 7 gallon container setup in my van . Crude but no problems . Thanks .
4 leaks is wild, but at least over time you have gained the knowledge of how all the systems work in your van. That will serve you well since eventually everything can break at some point due to vibration and wear and tear. Good job Bob!
Very impressed with the water leak detection and fix. I think I would have given up and I know there would have been some cursing involved. Great job Bob. We are still so new to our van life, only used for tailgating thus far. Your east coast trip was amazing. Hope to explore a little bit in the coming months.
I'm not surprised that the screw on water fittings worked loose, you've heard the saying that you are driving rolling earthquake! In my case I now do a thorough check after a long trip or once a year and always find things... recently I've found bolt on or screw on electrical connections loose and have just found my solar panels coming adrift, in time fortunately. We loved your east coast trip. Downunda - FIAT Ducato Class B Owner, Melbourne Australia
Bob I'm sure you hear this all the time that when you think you have the issue fixed, I have to head back to store to get something else. I don't wish this on anyone when your in a groove and almost done but not..."You know"! Good video and hopefully somtime see you both on the road.
Hillary, you are absolutely right! I am very impressed with Bob too! Hope you know how lucky you are to have each other. I'm convinced he could build a whole Mr. Lemon blindfolded! Excited for you and the RV show. Wishing you a very merry Christmas 🎄and a happy new year 🥂🍾
Mr Lemon is lucky to have such a skilled Owner. Proud of you Bob 🎉. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year’s to both of you and your family. Thanks for a fun year ❤
Glad you were able to find them. We removed our filter as it’s to hard to get at in a 20k ( couldn’t get it out to change filter) I have to check out fittings to make sure everything snug as a bug
I did my own build 4 years ago with no experience. I have hot and cold water on both sides of my van, and I have never had a leak. I also have NEVER turned off my water pump. Lol
Cover Mr. Lemon's ears if you read this aloud. With all this leaking, I think Mr. Lemon is trying to make lemonade. 🍋 🤫 😂 Honestly, you guys are role models in the ART of patience. I am afraid I would have driven it through the dealer's showroom window by now. 😮🙄
Don’t forget to properly index your LED headlights so you get maximum illumination without blinding oncoming drivers. We have LED headlights in all our vehicles, the difference is stunning.
Hey Bob. Instead of using 3 inches of braided nylon hose, and most of the existing “brittle” hose, curious why not just replace the whole thing with the braided nylon hose from end to end paired with the appropriate fitting and hose clamps. Seems like the cheap slinky looking hose will eventually break again.
Bob, you are incredibly patient! Oh my! I have seen other van lifers with water leaks. One woman had to remodel her entire van. 2 other ladies just had to remodel their sink area and replace flooring. What a pain in the neck! Not to mention costly. I understand why some people only have water at their kitchen sink, with tubing going into fresh water container and drains into the grey container. It really keeps water damage to a minimum. They also use composting toilets. Of course, they need to find shower facilities. Great job Bob! Merry Christmas to you both!❤❤
I am planning to go. I live in South Florida so I will be driving north. I am so glad that your HOA allows you to have a van my HOA if I cannot fit it into my tiny one car garage.(townhouse). I cannot have it so I am looking at a pop-up camper, called the Aliner Ranger or Scout 10. It’s the only camper that will fit in my garage. If it’s not good I’m going to continue with the tent and only Camp 2-3 months a year at most. Weekends and holidays during the school year because the rest of the year is hot in Florida.
I love how these issues don't seem to lessen your enthusiasm for adventure - and as much as i would love a class b van from a manufacturer you guys are making a great argument for a do it yourself van build! Sadly I'm sure Thor isn't concerned in the slighest that the quality of their product is trash. Have a great holiday season!
In all my years of RV’ing, leaks have always been one of my major concerns. We’ve had to replace entire systems over the years, including tanks. Never fun but you did a great job. Thanks for the video
I've been RVing since 1984. I don't think I've ever had a water leak until I bought a Dynamax. 2nd most expensive RV I've owned with more issues than all the other combined.
Wow Bob you never cease to amaze me with your handyman prowess! Are you a mechanic? Meet ups??? Where and when? The Florida supershow has always been on my list. Supposed to be terrific. Pretty new hair color Hillary. Does Bob like it? Merry Christmas.
Very impressed with the abilities you have, not to mention your patience! That said, I cannot believe the lack of ethics on Thor's part. It seems they cheaped out on materials and construction for the entire RV, having a lack of integrity seemingly without limit. Shame on them. Your frustration is evident, but your resolve demonstrates the strength of character you possess. May the next year give you the positive experiences of travel you both deserve. Be seeing you!
Thank you so much for showing all your trips , tricks and repairs. I just bought a Sequence 20A which looks an awful lot like your Mr. Lemon (love the name). I look forward to watching your next video. 😊
Nicely done Bob, we are so impressed with your skills. I would have placed a five gallon can of gas inside the van along with two flares. Works every time. But seriously, very expensive buddy. Hope to see you guys in Quartzsite.
I have a 2023 Tellaro and just had my first service but each time i picked it up something else had stopped working. 3 water clamps, a propane leak, the awning stopped working, the inverter gauge wasnt working. 4 trips to pick it up and each time i tested everything something else was broken! Up until now not one problem with it so i think i got a good one. I guess it was just time for needed maintenance. You two have so much patience when Mr Lemon acts up. You are saints! I look forward to seeing more of your adventures. I always learn a lot from your videos!
Impressive fix. Chasing down water leaks sure takes lots of keen detective work. Congrats to you both for having the desire and ability to fix four water leaks in such a difficult area to work in!
We have a 2018 Travato K. In the summer of 2023 I took my then 8 year old granddaughter on a trip up the coast of California. Well two days out just like you my carpet was wet. But our bath is in the back and so it was the back corner on the driver side. Anyway, like you we didn’t use the water and that was a pain in that you know what. And when I got back, my husband had to take that mirror off that’s in the back and pull that wall and it barely pulled out enough to where he could get his hand back there. And anyway to make a long story short, it was three months before he finally got that fixed and figured out what was leaking and we called Winnebago and they did send us all the schematics for the plumbing on the Travato K. So we do have that now. So I really understand watching this video what you went through. And like you, he learned a lot too. Now I can’t find where you guys always say. we’ll leave it in the description below. Where is that here on TH-cam? How do I get to that? Because I’d like to see that part that you used and maybe write down the information just in case we ever need something like that. Thank you guys. You do a great job on your videos. I’ve been watching you for quite a while now geez so I hope your channel is growing cause it should be.
My last car needed three wire latches to be flipped to access the air filter. The current one requires SIX special screws to be removed and replaced. I'd like to have a brief discussion with the been counter who decided "If we use screws, we can save over a dollar!"
This shows why there’s an advantage to buying a well maintained van vs a new one - especially from Thor. I’ve found the same loose fittings on our water system - Sanctuary 19P. Haven’t checked the pressure reducer or gravity full line yet. Always great tips and learn a lot from your posts!
That looked exhausting! Great job Bob! Glad you caught it before any real damage was done! If I’m done building our van we might make it to Florida to meet you guys. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Nice detective work you two. Winnebago has the same shoddy work inside the walls unfortunately. Here’s to many more miles with no issues 🎉 hope to see you at an event in 2025
Sure looks like that was a pain, but hopefully, it is good to go. I can't believe how tight they made the gravity fill line.... Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I'll be in Tampa RV Show. It'll be awesome to meet you, I also have a few trips planned for PHX in January, so let's plan the collab filming we talked about soon 😊
I'm in the process of buying a new 2025 Winnebago Solis Pocket 36A. No shower, hot water or flush toilet. 20 gallons of fresh water and a 20 gallon grey tank all integrated on the passenger side. I'm hoping to not have any water troubles.
I have had a Tellaro 20A for nearly a year. I have never had a water leak. Whenever I connect to city water, I always use an inline pressure regulator on the end of the connection hose. In addition, I only turn on the water pump when using the kitchen sink, flushing the toilet, or using the shower from the van's water tank. As soon as I'm done, the pump gets turned off.
Bob, add a Bore scope to your tools, its good getting in these tight areas for tracking leaks. This is why one needs to be mechanically inclined if you want an RV. The manufacturer screwed this up and probably a dealership service would again. 👍
Is it time to trade Mr. Lemon? Wow that looked like a lot of work to find the leaks and then replace and repair, very nice job! I hope you have no more leaks.😊
Well Bob congrats on finding Mr. Lemons leakage issues. Also I see you picked up a new darker haired chick on your travels across the country. Merry Christmas guys.
get yourself a heat gun and apply a little bit of heat to the water tank feed hose. Give your hose clamps a couple cranks while it's warm. That will set the clamps even better. Personally I would replace that corrugated hose with something smooth too.
Well I sure do hope that is the end of Mr. Lemon leaking all over the place! LOL Remember that driving an RV is like putting your house through a never ending earth quake as you're driving ! Things can simply shake apart! 😵💫.... Merry Christmas to everybody! ☃🎄
The two of you are amazing! Mr Lemon is sadly representative of American craftsmanship within the rv industry, so sad! Silver lining Bob I now who to call to work on an rv, haha. Happy Holidays!
Hi Bob and Hillary! Great show, as usual. We would like to replace our headlight bulbs. The ones on our Coachman Nova/Promaster chassis are worthless. Can you share a link to the replacement bulbs you used?
Thank you so much you two for showing the repair in such detail. I so appreciate it. I will now show my husband. How did you know what parts to get? Like the names to even find the parts. Like your elbow one. How do you even search. Did you go to etrailer? Or just amazon. Would love to know how to get correct parts. We have a promaster solis 59P. So probably different parts since winnebago vs thor. Great job Bob! Very impressive. You will end up having a great van when you are all done. I like mr lemon
Excellent work!!!! Such a job finding the source, then taking the van apart.... but how in the world do you know what all these parts are called so you can find them? And where do you source them ? Are they RV specific or are these generic parts ( besides that one valve)? Another great video that gives a better understanding of these vans. Merry Christmas, guys!
Dry everything really good with a paper towel. Then wrap all your pipes and fittings with paper towels. Come back a few minutes later and see which one is wet and you have found your leak.
Hillary, were you at Costco in Chandler at customer service desk around noon today? If not, you have a twin running around. I would have approached you if I was sure it was you.
My lack of mechanical skills scares the heck out of me to get any kind of RV! Kind of stinks. Maybe I just put a bed in the back of my Denali pickup!! LOL
Love your channel. Been following for a few weeks now. I’ve got a 2022 Jayco swift. Same RAM 3500 chassis. I found the fog lamps you installed online but having issues finding the headlamps. H7 correct? Please let me know the sku if you have a chance . Have a great holiday!
Not sure if this was asked in the thread already, but can you please provide the information on the LED and fog lights? I've been wanting to change those for a while now.
I have a Nova on the 2021 Ram. I HATE the headlights! What did you replace yous with. I saw the fog light replacement I will be ordering those ASAP. Thanks
:) QOQ! Great share, video and you are HOME :) I think the LED Headlight and Fog Light UPGRADE is the BEST to help you see better : ) May have to do same for my MiniVan ! Can you let us know where and how to order them for other vehicles or the ProMaster ? ALL the BEST and Cheers from Soggy PNWest ! ! : )
I enjoy your videos and honestly would have poured gas in it and set it afire long ago. I think your professional training in your jobs make you think more reasonable than me. It takes a very supportive wife and a smart man to listen to her in stressful times. But at the end of the day you always learn something about mister lemon.

Here's hoping 2025 is a problem free year. Fingers crossed.
Yes!!!
I always turn off my water pump on travel days. It reduces the pressure and stress on the pipe joints. Imo
Could you install the clear hose to the outside connection?
Dry everything really good with a paper towel. Then wrap all your pipes and fittings with paper towels. Come back a few minutes later and see which one is wet and you have found your leak.
Hillary, were you at Costco in Chandler at customer service desk around noon today? If not, you have a twin running around. I would have approached you if I was sure it was you.
Yes!!! Next time for sure say hi!
Thanks
Wow! That’s all I can say :)
Well, time to gut the van and do your own build!! Lol orrrrr, Gut it and have noovo redo it for you lol In all seriousness, very impressive Bob!!
You guys have a ‘22 covid build right? I’ve had zero trouble with my 2020 Boldt. Soon you will have solved all your build quality issues
Great job! I’ll be taking a similar trip this spring. Any recommendations of things (meaning parts) I might want to have on hand with me on the trip?
If you have a Thor product, it might be best to have a second one available...
Just kidding...no one should have to have two Thor products...
I enjoy your videos and honestly would have poured gas in it and set it afire long ago. I think your professional training in your jobs make you think more reasonable than me. It takes a very supportive wife and a smart man to listen to her in stressful times. But at the end of the day you always learn something about mister lemon.
