Just so you know, it is very worthwhile to get yourself an EZ-pass and stick it on your windshield. While they will send you a bill without one, the amount you will pay will be significantly higher than with an EZ-pass. Love your videos. All the best.
I would go all the way through - stopping at 3:30 wouldn't do it for me if I only had 3 or 4 hours to go. Heck, if I had 5+ hours left at 3:30 I would keep driving! Home sweet home!!!
That was an absolutely epic journey! You two are amazingly energetic adventurers and I really enjoy the way you vibe together. You're like best buds! Thank you for sharing your travels with us. I hope you'll do meetups at some point so we can meet you in person! Blessings to you and yours.✝️🕊️
Welcome home. Nicely done (I enjoyed the mellow music). I've made many weeks-long road trips myself (just got back to Texas from Canada), and enjoyed sharing your journey.
Love that you are wearing a South Haven, MI, t-shirt! I second the EZ-Pass option for the East Coast and I80/90. Doesn't work in Southern states like OK and KS. Thanks for the vid!
If I might suggest for traveling is going to Trader Joe's and picking up a bunch of frozen entrees that just heat and eat. They have Mexican, Indian, and Chinese food that is usually healthy and reasonable. Our Travato has a huge separate freezer that holds a lot for extended trips where they are no good restaurants around. Better than sandwiches.
Back in the day (I'm talking 30 - 35 years ago), we used to drive like that. We have a few years (decades?) on you and spend more time enjoying an area and less time eating up miles these days. We recently traded our motorhome for another Class B, so we're thinking we'll be changing our traveling style... but, 250 - 300 miles a day works for us. This past summer we went from Phoenix to Maggie Valley, North Carolina, and took 10 days to do that 2,000 mile trip. I mentioned in a comment on a previous video, that when we went to Maine, we spent 10 days in the Acadia/Bar Harbor area, then a couple days to get to the DC area, where we spent another week, then about a month to meander our way back to Texas (our previous home state). Being retired and having no work schedule to get back to has its advantages. Hope you get plenty of rest before you get back to the workin' world. Thanks for taking us along. (Captain Jim and the Blonde)
Yes I too would have driven home if I was that close and had been gone for that long of a period! I recently found your channel so I have a lot of catching up to do! Thanks for taking us along!
Love your Canadian ‘toque’, Hilary. I’m a Canadian living in Texas and Bucee’s is our absolute favorite place to stop…we also buy lots of Xmas presents there for friends & family! Really enjoyed your epic journey to the east coast! Thanks for taking us along!
Merry Christmas ⛄🎁🦌🎄 and Happy New Year 🎊 to you both. Happy that you got home safely. My favorite state that you went to is New Mexico. Was also in Arizona,Utah, Colorado on a tour with my sister in 1990.
Jersey Shore! GSP used to have baskets, at the tolls. The game was to drive through without stopping and throw the money in and hope it made the basket. That road on a weekend in the summer is nuts.
Thanks for taking us along. My question would be…do you need another Owl box for Hillary’s shopping? Kidding…. What one van upgrade did you find SO worth it on the trip?
WELCOME HOME! 🏠 ❤ Great adventure you guys. Thanks for taking us along. 🙏 I was amazed at how much ground you covered coming home and still kept smiling. Impressive. The tolls reminded me of living in NJ for high school and using the Garden State Pkwy. No transponders back then. We would make a game of how fast you could go through the booth, hit the basket with a quarter and not ring the toll violator bell on your way out. 😂 🪙 Now I have an EZ Pass transponder for east coast trips. It covers 19 states and reduces the rates. 👍🏼💪🏼 Thanks again!!
: ) WOW ! Great job, trip and share ! I HAD to LOL at Texas IS a 2 day state, and I used to ride my Moto there, and no joke at the speed limits of 75, 80 etc, on 2 wheels is a little more than un-nerving :( Glad you made it Home and rest, enjoy, and ALL the BEST ! ! ! Cheers : )
As much as I have enjoyed my RV travels over the years, it is ALWAYS good to be back home! I assume your fridge is 12 volt, as it was working even though you had no propane. I am a big advocate of 12 volt compressor fridges as they cool much faster and better and they don't have to be dead level to work properly.
I loved this! I've wanted to drive from Cleveland, OH to Scottsdale where my godson lives by way of Fort Worth where one of my friends live. But at that 34:38 mark when you were talking about going downhill and it was windy, I don't know if I could handle that! It seemed kinda scary. The last 6 hours I would have split it it out but you drove the whole way. This was a wonderful video!
We drove from Casa Grande to NYC and back in 36 days with long stays in DC and NYC. Going we took Interstate 10 to Tallahassee then north through Savanna and Charleston on the way to NYC. On the way home, we drove south to Durham, picked up Interstate 40 to Flagstaff and south 17 back home. Trip was awesome. Would do it again. Welcome home. S
You were 15 minutes from my house when you crossed into Georgia. I’m tired just watching, and yes I would have pushed that last day just to be in my bed.
On our summer road trip last day I wanted to stop and do one more night in the tent with my teenagers because Im worried we wont do that type of trip again as they get older. But they wanted to go all the way home. I made them each drive a bit, but ultimately I drove 8/12 hrs the last day and I got them home to their comfy beds. ☺️ i figured you guys would push through. Could tell that once you turned the van around and the sight seeing and shopping lol was done, you were on a mission. 👍 Good job guys. Loved it.
Buc-ee's is the absolute best. We are Canadian. We travel down to Florida in our class A motorhome every year for the past four years and we stop off at for gas food and anything else my wife wants to buy.
I live in Georgia and have a Peach Pass. There are new signs posted along the Peach Pass lanes now saying the EZ Pass is accepted so hopefully you won't get a fine.
Good luck if you have to go through Atlanta 😳 it’s no fun. It’s chaotic having to switch a zillion lanes just to get through the center of Atlanta! Not my favorite to go through
I live in GA, I have a surpass pro which is compatible with EZ Pass. It covers the eastern half of the country. You will get a bill in the mail for the toll.
Be sure to buy a SunPass when you come to Florida, especially for Orlando and South Florida (there is a lot of pay by plate tolls, but will save you money having the pass). It would have worked for you in Georgia too (I think a couple of other states as well). Great video as always, and if you do come to Florida, feel free to DM me (Florida native), would be happy to point you to some favorite places!
I have an allergy to stopping near home at the end of a road trip, but it depends what I am driving. In my van I could stop in a rest area and go sleep in the back for 20 minutes and continue. I have done that in cars where I decide if I keep going I will crash, so I put the seat down and sleep for 20 minutes, so I can go the last 100 miles (which is mountain passes).
What a drive! An unknown water leak is not bad by Mr Lemon standards!🤣Never been to Buccees. Those brisket sandwich’s look good! It’s on my list. The tolls are insane here in Illinois also. I see you guys made it by the Mathers. I can see the miles taking their toll on Bob! Pun intended!🤣 Get some rest.
Getting a bill sent via using an express lane is gonna be a higher bill than while using a transponder usually, also careful about the fine, its been our experience, states that send the violation / fine via mail love to drag out sending them you may get it w/o appropriate time to send it back/pay and granting the charging state even more money generation in penalties atop the fine so keep vigilant. As far as the Buc-ees we have never been to one yet, used to travel from California / Chicago on the regular due to military and visiting family on holidays never saw one, then 22’ getting our STO and still have not had the pleasure, we are hoping torectify that this Christmas trip though, and omg y’all are hitting up Magnolia Market too. Too funny thats on the list of stops also for us this December, Sheila is so excited for it.
Gosh the tolls are maddening. Some are automatic and some are cash. Ugh NY doesn’t send you a bill all the time. Glad you were safe.so did you take 20. I guess you would be more safe from ice and snow. Also is that Daniel island from South Carolina?
What a great trip! I have followed pretty much since the beginning, and this was a great time. I do have one question (maybe just for Bob) how happy were you with the new tires. We kind of have the same travel style here in Germany and the same type of van. Are they louder or less direct than your older "Street" tires on the highway? Ours will probably be ready to change after the 3,5 weeks in Spain over Christmas, and I just like the look! Also the SUMO springs, just a gimmick or are they really good with the OE rim and tire size?
Thanks!!! I’m very happy with the tires. They make such a big difference. They are a little louder but it’s not bad at all. And yes the sumo springs are worth it. We bought our first set the rear springs and then have been gifted the front sumo springs and (we haven’t shown this yet) we just added the super springs. All I’m my opinion worth every penny.
@ I leave for the keys on my maiden voyage in my new to me Travato … can’t wait to escape the cold … but I do go into Delaware first to pick up a long time friend … good to know on the tolls
FYI - Great Video. I’m about done with TH-cam. They are running filthy commercials on your channel. I know you have no control over commercial content but if enough of us complain maybe they will stop. They run this junk on every channel.
So what did you average for mpg and how did the gas prices compare to AZ? Is there a restaurant at the silos? Terrific trip…..glad you made it home safe and sound.
Hey guys did the trip take a full month?Would love to do a similar trip so just curious.Great videos and we love watching and living vicariously through your van-tastic travels🤪🙏
Did you need to pay the toll at the tollbooth? I know on Google maps there is a setting to avoid the toll road and it might be a little longer than the toll road 😰 I have my set to avoid till road and it's good thing we don't have to many here in California but I don't know about the East Coast 😅 the silo I wish I could visit It someday I used to watch the fixer upper show I like the gains couple and is sad to see them stop the show and open the silo at wico how is the place and the food?

All I can say is: I am EXHAUSTED! What an epic journey riding along with you two lovebirds, from start to finish. Congratulations!

Ugh. 12 hours of driving. I can feel your fatigue Bob. Great journey. Now relax and have a blessed and Merry Christmas!!
You guys are awesome! I am enjoying your channel and adventures.😊
Thank you so much! 😊
Welcome to Georgia, we waved as you drove thru. ❤👋
👋 👋👋
Enjoyed your adventures. Glad you are home safe. Rest up ❤🎉
I agree that MS KOA is a great stopover. And that is the roughest road ever! Love your adventures and mine in my Ram ProMaster.
I would go all the way through - stopping at 3:30 wouldn't do it for me if I only had 3 or 4 hours to go. Heck, if I had 5+ hours left at 3:30 I would keep driving! Home sweet home!!!
I loved Magnolia my husband took me for my birthday a couple years ago loved it.
Love you guys travel I am taking notes on safe places to stay.
Great series. Would you ever do this trip again?
Stop somewhere and take a nap, then finish the drive. Home sweet home.

Welcome home. Nicely done (I enjoyed the mellow music). I've made many weeks-long road trips myself (just got back to Texas from Canada), and enjoyed sharing your journey.
For me, the best part was watching Bob’s beard get fuller and fuller over the last three or four days.

I lived in Vicksburg and know I-20 well. MS has what they call yazoo clay in the soil. That’s what makes the roads bad.
Thanks for taking us along. My question would be…do you need another Owl box for Hillary’s shopping? Kidding…. What one van upgrade did you find SO worth it on the trip?

Sorry we missed you in Maryland...and that is how our traffic always is around VA and DC! We stay away from Route 95
Great trip ,I would book it 😄🏎️
We went to Waco last yr and loved Magnolia bakery and Table. Both veey delicious 😋
It's not a roadtrip until we've made a Bucee's stop!
I live outside of Birmingham. You were so close to me. 🙂
Now you too can say you love New York ❤! P.S. There is a toll for everything here.....and when you buy items you must bring your own bags 😅
Haha! Yes! We love New York! And we found out the hard way about the tolls 😂
Stop and enjoy.
Driving through Texas………. The sun has riz, the sun has set, and we ain’t out of Texas yet!

It costs me more in tolls than my gas costs me to NY city and back to Norfolk Va.

Also, let us know what happens with the water leak! Get some rest !
Definitely! Working on that next!
I feel your pain about tolls in New Jersey it cost us about $100.00. Never again
Hi , hope you have a safe trip. Hillary, do you share the driving?
Thanks! I try to. But Bob usually wants to drive.

You practically drove past our house in SC
Hey guys did the trip take a full month?Would love to do a similar trip so just curious.Great videos and we love watching and living vicariously through your van-tastic travels🤪🙏
okay, I'm not too far in, you just left Costco.. couldn't you have gotten an oil change & propane there too?!?
Drive straight thru.Do you guys wish you could live full time in your van?
The governing bodies of New England states are all you need to understand in order for nonstop tolls and taxation to make complete sense.
Just curious why did you not take I40 straight across?
I don't know if I would push a 800 mile day to get home. I think it depends on the time of day and state of mind.
Did you need to pay the toll at the tollbooth? Maybe shoulda taken 40...have to cross Arkansas but the road is good...if boring.
Looks like you went through Atlanta
Have you downloaded the Love's App.... 10 cents off per gallon 👍🏻👍🏻
Did you ever get the Love's app to save 10cents a gallon?
Try a Sunpass
I’ll look it up thanks!

Hahahahaha!!!! I totally agree!
PB and J with Sour Cream and Onion chips? Um...ewwwwww.
Still wearing your tuque I see. “Two K”
You guys drove right by our house (Durham)!
The east coast absolutely, positively sucks when it comes to tolls..
I-85 to I-40. ?
I’d of drove straight home.
Why doesn’t Hillary drive or won’t you let her?
She doesn’t like to drive if he’s around. She drove the first 2 days of this trip and picked him up in a different city on the way up to Maine
Should have looked up Durham crime rate, you would have kept going!
Why did you rush your trip home instead of seeing all the sites.
Because they are still working jobs. They had to get back.
Sound quality on the video it’s not as good as it normally is.

Bob mostly likes to be the driver. But I do drive. I actually love driving our Van. If you ever see drone shots-I’m driving 😂 -H

Of course you pay toll to leave New Jersey.... If you had to pay a toll to get into Jesrey no one would go......Old joke
