Who would have thought the guys behind Joe Danger would have made such an epic game like this....Wow!
I will feel like Christopher Columbus and all the other European explorers who risked their lives to go out and explore the unknown.Not risking life and limb but the thought that you can go to any planet in which even the devs don't even know what is in it brings in that feeling or exploration.The thought that this is coming from an Indie team of like 5 people is astounding and better than most triple A titles.I will be picking this up when it comes out :D

We don't really know what "kind" the player would be in No Man's Sky, or if it'd be the exact same as every other player.

MB5490 No it won't. Even if it does come at some point it will be years later. They already said their committed to the PS4 and the PC version is coming next. And that they have no plans for an Xbox One version. So I wouldn't hold your breath.

it shows it at the logo, the floating no mans sky triangle because under it is the same big light seen when you are in galaxy mode.

I like the game, though my predictions are as follows: The game will recieve roughly 7/8 out of tens, with words like "ambitious" and "small team" used to justify why the concept of the game doesn't hold up to the hype that we're all experiencing now. But that it's still a "worthwhile experience" even if it isn't as good as we thought it was going to be. And that the game is a "step in the right direction" for gaming. This guy may be an indie developer, but he is marketing this shit like a pro!

I AM BEYOND HYPE FOR THIS GAME! Curiosity is what drives me. To never know what you may encounter next is unbelievable! How big this game is amazes me. I honestly don't think i could stop until I reach the center of the Galaxy. Hello Games, I can't wait to explore what you have created.

This guy is great, his passion for sci-fi and this game are really captivating and make me all the more excited for No Man's Sky. I know there are people who will be disappointed, but name a single game where that has not been the case. For me, just give me the game. In some ways it reminds me of Journey, I have an idea of what to expect from the game, but really I just want to experience what it has to offer.
I'm too damn excited for this. This is the game I've always wanted as a kid!! What I really want to know is, what's up with those buildings in some of the planets? They look manmade. Maybe it's either from a player, or a dinosaur with opposable thumbs. Shit, maybe they're built by motherfucking aliens!!!

Technically, every creature, be them humanoid or animal, in this game is an alien. Relative to us Earthlings, that is. To them, _we're_ aliens.

I can't deny that I'm excited about No Man's Sky for it endless universe, but also I'm afraid that the game play will be mostly around exploration and wandering those endless galaxies and planets.

This is how i felt when i played the first mass effect :) and i would happily say, that this game will be essentially the same as being next Mass Effect game series :)
I think the best way to approach the wait for this game is to not have expectations. I'm just going to let it arrive and hit me with what it's got. I'm sure they aren't telling us a lot which I completely understand and support. I cannot wait to see what this game has in store.

This looks great. There is lots of big up coming space exploration games that I am looking forward to on PC, No Man's Sky, Elite Dangerous and of course Star Citizen.
Then there's Star Fox for WiiU which I want also.

This game could go two ways: Either it wil blow everyones mind and bring revolution to gaming, or it could suck hairy balls and be forgotten about it a matter of weeks. Either way, I love the creativity and the fact that they dare to do something extraordinary. Wether it'll be great of bad, I respect their courage :)
The first Playstation had a game where you could fly from outer space down to the planet's surface. The map seemed huge but it wasn't. If you flew to the edge of the map, you would come out on the other side of the map. Does anyone remember that title?
a good idea would be if everyone was heading to the center of the universe they would surely meet so there should be a city planet or like a multiplayer hub where you unlock a lot of multiplayer abilities to chat and warp to friends positions
would open up a whole new reason to play if you fancied it

I like the idea but its hard to keep the idea of constant searching and a new frontier going since your planets will just end up random numbers, explored, or similar to EVE but if they get constant community updates might help constant ideas will keep it alive.
I wish everyone would stop saying how revolutionary this game is. Im very excited for it,and I think it will be an amazing experience. But procedurally generated sci fi planets and space has been done by David Brabens Frontier,which was made in 1991

I can see this game having a huge momentum like Minecraft.
The concept will change the industry, but its the execution of it that waits to be seem... Really hopeful for this game. It doesnt have to be realistic, i actually like stylization. Just make it believable and dont tell us we can do something that just turns out to be a gimmick.

they have said things about being with friends but this is a galaxy sized galaxy you will never meet anyone unless you can tp to each other so having it set up to keep checking to see if players are in range is a waste of your computers resources

In the center of the galaxy is a Black hole and its a portal to another galaxy... then you start again but harder, and you rejoins all those galaxy... that would be amazing

The lead developper said you will be able to get to the center of the galaxy and for most it will be the end of the game. There is a path to it and you can light speed
No no it would take 500 Billion years to go to all 18 quintillion planets in the game. You can get to the center of the universe in roughly 40 days I think Sean said at one point. But 40 days spread out across everything else you're doing in your life will probably equal several months to possibly a year to complete.
Ugh... Just look ign one on one with the game dev, he said the game take roughtly 40h to complete if you just try to reach the center of the galaxy

Developers said that it's going to be exclusive for ps4 but they would love to have a PC version of the game. As for Xbox one on the other hand its not confirmed

With potentially millions of players, how can their be that many planets? Seems too massive to comprehend.
its a life-sized galaxy... and I think the world can techinically go on forever in any direction because its created from a single seed

Well think about it. There is about 7 billion people just on Earth right? And from what I know these planets are going to be about the same size so I would think there is enough planets :)

So what is the plot? The end goal? As of now all I see is exploration with some ship battles. I hope it has more to offer, because if not this game will become boring rather quickly.
It looks very cool, with a great concept. There just needs to be more meat on the skeleton. It has potential, but I dont know if it will ever be truely great.
Would be cool if they can add to the game something like destney the game.For 80 different kind of aliens with each there own kind of guns with each haveing a City of there own. From 60,80,100 per city and if a city is wiped out a different one replace it in a different location in that planet .100 types of guns would be cool to use throught the planets

Seems amazing. I think everyone is wondering how the actual outcome may be and honestly we may be disappointed. Also what if millions make it to the center?? But anyways.. Even if its awful I think anyone who likes the concept should still purchase it just so the world can see what kind of attention and money it can bring so either they can make another ("no mans sky 2") with thier big $$ lol or possibly a big name company that has a large team can make what were looking forward to.

This looks better than most indie games which just try to be 16 bit sidescrolling platforming pieces of crap. This is what an indie studio should be. Making ambitious pure fun titles.
Some examples include Fez, Super meat boy, Spelunky, etc. All lame half assed, lazy, unfun games that idiots always fall for.
i dont think its meant to be action or anything like a norm game i think its meant to be an experience like that game dust or what ever it was named where you get put in a desert and you try to get to the mounten. its its own game

Its funny, with all the positive and negative comments about this game, no one can understand the scope of the universe Hello Games has created. People talking about planet destroyers and trolls all over the place. Chances are we will only actually see one or two people through out the entire life span of this game (unless they release a dedicated PVP/player interaction destination, which they have hinted at doing). Think about all 7-8 billion inhabitants of Earth. Now imagine throwing every individual out on to one of the billions of stars/solar systems and we'd still have a pretty empty galaxy. Now scale that down to the millions that will play this game (hopefully) in an infinite universe with to-scale planets and interstellar distances. We will never have to worry about things to do, unexplored planets to discover, resources to exploit, species to admire, ships to plunder or protect, etc. The simple fact that we might never be able to truly realize the depth, size, and sheer unpredictability of this game (that includes the Devs) gets me excited and actually giddy to get my hands on the product these passionate people are creating.

If Elite did the impossible in the 80's then I see no reason why NMS can't do the same today.
Personally I look forward to this but I think they are promising more than they can provide but happy to be proven wrong.

well they have said there is an enemy that does something you don't like (this enemy will evolve during development so they wont give us details till the game is almost done) and the predatory animals on planets will try to kill you and in space pirates and things will try to kill you so there will be plenty of action. Your goal get to the center of the universe (the reason wil also likely change so don't expect details soon)
