Used my BBQ for the first time this year yesterday. Mould, rust and all sorts of crap on the wire rack. Spent ages with a brillo pad and washing liquid cleaning the bugger. Didn't cross my mind to heat up the BBQ first to make it easier. Great tip. Cheers.
@@BrothersoftheGrill The daft thing is that I always give a it a going over with the wire brush when I've finished cooking because it's easier to get the bigger bits off the hot grill. I guess I just forgot that 😂
My wife was telling me about people having this problem and honestly it was the first time I've ever heard of mold on a grill. Then again i live in Texas, and I grill/smoke year round. Great video and beautiful Weber kettle. 👍🏾
Oh, man. I was thinking I had to throw my grill plate out and go buy a new one. Thank you kindly for your video sir. Greatly appreciated from a new subscriber in New Zealand.
Ran into this problem today what really helped me out was using a water hose the stuff rinses off real quick…. Next I’m using a bunch of smoke to kill any spores … getting the internal of the grill really hot and finally I’ll wipe the grill section off with an onion hope it doesn’t come back
I had the wire tip pierce thru my gums from the inside of the gum on my bottom jaw. It protruded thru the front so I grabbed it with a tweezer and pulled it thru. I then rinsed my mouth with Listerine.
I did go and cook something exceptional, my first smash burgers, but in a frying on the hob, as you said, the weather is pretty 💩 Great tips and cheap 🤩🥃🥃🥃
A bit of health advice: When dealing with mold like that, make sure you wear a face mask so that you do not inhale mold spores that might get released during your cleaning process. Be well.
I totally agree, but a lot ask this question every year, so I left this one to show how to get rid of it. Good point to put across about the dust from the mould. I was careful but should have pointed that out in the video as much as I did about not using wire brushes.

@haroldcory3587 never good! Glad it wasn't any worse than that!
Hi! Does this same method apply for a gas bbq? I’ve got a Weber and it’s moldy after it’s first UK winter! Thanks 😊
It sure does! Get it hot and give it a bit of elbow grease 💪 😉 you will be good to go!
That’s a great tip mate will be using that one very soon…… hope your all well down there 👍🏻
Cheers Rob yeah we are all good cheers brother 👍 👌 plenty of videos to come 😃 hope you and your family are all good cheers
hi, thanks for the great video. I bought a used smoker, how should I clean the inside?
Hi SORRY I'm only just seeing this!! it all depends on if it's rusty etc is it a steel offset or a weber kettle like mine??
@@BrothersoftheGrill no worries, yes I've got a used Weber kettle and a bit rusted inside along with the grill
@tabartorche ok cool I would use hot, soapy water using a rag or plastic stiff brush on it then use tinfoil adding a little oli and heat.
what about the underside ? Did you flip grill grate and do the same ?
Yes I did and should have shown that to be honest.

Cheers mate, always looking for a cheaper way to do things 😊
Hit me up the next time you are in East Texas! Great video
Thanks man that's awesome 👌 😃😃
Did you open all vents to get high temp?
I open the bottom vent fully yes
Thanks :)
@mckeon1960 no worries at all 😃
What would you recommend for cast is rob grills in this state, I have a Weber q
I would use tin foil also
Does that method work with the Weber Smokey Mountain?
It will work on all grills tbh just use as I did in the video and you are good to go 😃
Nice flag brother love and peace from the USA thanks for the help 🇬🇧 🇺🇸
Cheers brother
How do you ask if someone used a wire brush on a grill
Well that would be an awkward question tbf 😬
Does this also apply with electric grills?
100% yes you can also use onion to rub over after to help re season 😀
Great video, how many times have I asked you to come round & clean mine? Also let people know what you use to clean the outside 😆
Lol I'm off today so I can come round to clean them 😅 good point I should of exposed my secret glass cleaning bottle that I use to clean the outside 😅
Great video
Cheers 🍻
Thank you so much big fella
Thanks for watching 👀 🙂 🙏

Thanks for the advice. Can you clean mine 😂
No lol 😆 😂 🤣
Can’t I just fire up my grill and burn the mold off with like a half hour at 500 degrees?
You can do that aswell but I like to scrap it off to get all of it
excellent tips
Cheers Laura. I see a lot of posts every year asking so I thought I'd show how I do it.
Amazing 👍
Cheers 🍻
Careful breathing that dust in, bigger fire to burn clean first, best thing is don't be lazy and clean you grill after your bbq while it's still hot.

Pretty good idea my English friend
Cheers 🍻
Cool 😎 man porch
Thanks 👍 😊
I use a shit ton of lighter fluid and fire with coals lol
Nice, thanks for the tip mate!
Cheers 🍻
Me being a tight Cu.. person 😂😂😂😂😂
Lol 😆 🤣
You must be a welder
I'm not but I did build a mini offset smoker myself. Not the best welding lol but it works.
