Imagine almost dying then someone putting a hectic remix bassdrop over it.
but does anyone know the name of the song at the end? 03:28
@@zerolamperouge2564who cares
@@ihavenoname.4929 no, that's not it
imagine choosing a sport that involves falling down a mountain and assuming injuries dont happen.... this whole video is trash.
@@zerolamperouge2564 Yeryshalayim
The music completely ruins this video. Mute.
i agree its total shit no empathy for these top athletes
Lol fr
Music is just right. Ignore these grandads
I like the music. I think it’s quite well chosen.
I think one of the worst ones was the one in 1991 or i forgot, it's like that the person skiing down lost control and crashed, as he was sliding down, guts and blood fell out of the wound and bro, so brutal.
Todd Brooker’s crash will always be the worst for me. What that video did not show after his violent cartwheeling down the hill is his limp body conforming to every contour in the hill as he slid to a stop. Its a miracle that he survived to live a normal life after that terrifying crash.
I agree. I haven't seen the crash in years & now that I've seen it again all I can say is OMFG
Wengen. Gernot Reinstadtler died. Brutal video. Rip
How horrific Gernot reinstadlers crash was he died from his injuries so sad the worst accident by far must have been horrible to see the blood as he tried to get up then lost consciousness
You can’t have seen Gernot Reinstadler’s crash. That was the worst of the worst. And it killed him.
"If you are scared, you won't win the Kitzbühel downhill race" - Atle Skaardal
Look over there, that's the hospital -Aamodt
if you are scared you would never get out of the startbox.. Heli Höflehner
"The worst but survived crashes"
Yes, if it included deaths, the worst crash of all (and its not even remotely close) is of Gernot Reinstadler...absolutely horrific
@@mb9543 i know. And honestly I don t understand how it happened. I wrote that because i was looking for crashes of years 60's 70's (a part from the well known accident involving Leonardo David)...I mean: safety was less considered, they did not train, and they did not go down slowly... So I was wondering about what happened in those years... and hoped i could find something in this video 😅
his right (the one where all the kinetic energy is hold) ski got caught in the safety net at about 60 mph, and due to physics it ripped him apart, after this accident no more mesh-nets . RIP Gernot@@MrMarcec85
@@thomaslippa1525I should know or have seen the diffferent nets, which I didn't . I will look for mesh nets. I mean, even now nets have "holes", but noone get stuck in them.
All survived yes, but with damages that do not allow them to carry on their career (D. Albrecht).
Lanning (#2) was really lucky to have the safety net up to this height.
I believe that fall ended his career.
@@TheSlandis But not his life
Little bit higher and he's going straight into a tree 😢
@@gsw007Someone I played ice hockey with when we were teenagers hit a tree skiing and survived but had major brain damage that required multiple surgeries. That was just going down a hill at a ski resort. At the speed this guy was traveling it would have been over for him without that net. Regardless, his career probably ended that day but at least he survived.
The most amazing thing about the Maier crash is that a couple of days later he won the Olympic Super G gold medal on the same hill.
Herminator: "I'll be back."
Jesus..... Good job that fence was high enough......... Tree bound for Mr Lanning.
At least ten of these, including the honorable mentions, were on the Streif at Kitzbuhel, Austria.
But most were on the final jump at the end. If you mess up that pre-jump, you pay.
After the traverse there is usually no power left. And that's a problem.
the problem is more lactic acid@@TheSlandis
I just came back from Snowboarding in Kitz, doing some blue pistas..but from few spots, you literally See where the Streif track goes, and it is super scary to even look at it, let alone try to go down it slowly, leeeet alone do downhill 1 40kmh 😐😐😐🥶
Awkward to "like" this, but The Bravery! RESPECT.
No. 6 takes it for me. Without a doubt, the biggest send I’ve ever seen in my life
Shit looked like something out of looney tunes lmaao
My mom tore her ACL, MCL, and meniscus slowly skiing but the rental bindings were way to tight and didn’t come off when they should have, slowly ripping her ligaments. It was her first and last time feeling confident on skis.
Huh? These guys are going 80MPH.
too*
@@yahs808 Yeah I know it is crazy how these things can happen going at such a low speed. I’m surprised some of them didn’t get more hurt.

Brookers fall was by far the worst.
Yes it was, possibly the worst of all time
This is a re-upload. I created a new, better version but still wanted the original to be around
"The 10 Worst Downhill Crashes:---How cheerful and uplifting.
It's amazing how many of these were in Kitzbühel
Where is the Grenau?
Nah. the worst downhill crash was my marriage. RIP.
Had that secondary barrier not been in place TJ Lanning would’ve definitely at the very least been paralyzed from hitting those trees. World Cup downhill racers are literally putting their lives on the line every race.
100%
That top 10 not coming close to Gernot Reinstadler accident... The worst by far!
Reason why hes not here
@@speedkingz i agree! But according to the title he should be in...
To some point yes
I didn’t know Todd Brooker was such a great break dancer?!
That looked painful tho
He was unconscious during the fall...body was limp.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m a MotoGP fan, but after watching this I wanna get into watching some downhill skiing, looks like a similar kind of rush.
The rush is comparable - but in downhill skiing your body does all the work. That ads a whole other dimension.
@@jclemme1 I'd also suggest that a MotoGP bike has far more effective brakes!
Sure. At the end of a downhill race there is no power left for braking.
@@jclemme1 Or when you're airborne and facing a tight turn! When's the next downhill competition to watch, I'm excited!
But in motorcycle racing the speeds are higher. I never raced, high sided once - pretty scary. But it was 60-70km/h accident when someone decided to cut in front of me that left me with screws in my tibia. No more double diamond skiing since then, at 55, I can barely ski Blacks - my knee just can't take the abuse.
As a competitive downhill skier at 13 years old this terrifies me, thank god even a few of them survived.
For info, all of them survived.
@@speedkingztodd Brooker died
@@speedkingzHow many Careerending crashes were among these in the Video?
They are also not doing what we are lol
and werent really hurt ! thank you for that!!, as an austrian , i know there were very bad lifechanging crashes.. its a risk and those who can build up enough confidence to do it for a race, they should be reveered(?sic).. @@speedkingz
1:10 When I'm at a dance battle and my opponent is Todd Brooker 💀
I may not have been the fastest skier, but I never had to count my limbs after a days skiing....
the disrespect in this video is crazy
nice compilation, but the music is kinda unfit 😐(I mean 1:08.. like come on)
new level of breakdancing down a hill
Those guys can go up to 140 km/h. It's probably one of the most dangerous sports. However, I cannot blame them for loving it. I'm a pretty good recreational skier. I have the app ski-tracks on my phone. It tracks your speed. My record was 90 km/h. Skiing very fast is an absolute thrill, the dopamine and adrenalin rush is undescribable amazing. It's like a drug, it's like an addiction.
Totally agree, extreme sport
the wrolds worst one is GRAPHIC! Fatal Ski Crash of Gernot Reinstadler
Thats why he's not here
Would a ski crash even be complete without Arming Assinger going: „Uhhhhh Aahhh des schaut ned guad aus“
RIP Gernot Reinstadler Wengen 1991
Yea, Kitz is crazy fast & pure ice !
Jeez #9 literally delaminated his ski's upon impact. It's like somebody decided to combine the long jump with giant slalom!
And Meier won gold the next day😮
If the skier falls but tumbles across the finish line, does it count towards their time and a win?
Yes, I think so. But, most often they will lose a lot of time so they dont Brother about the result or just say its a DNF
@@Defender78 yes, Lara Gut's first podium had such finish
@@Defender78 When I raced you had to cross the finish line with 3 pieces of equipment to count. ie. 2 poles and 1 ski for example.
@@speedkingz u have to cross the crashline (line after the finish line) with both ski's on. For example if you go over the finish line, stop before the crash line and take off one ski you get disqualified. (happend to Hermann Maier)
Just watching this screwed my lower back up.
1:14 this is so funny and i hate myself for laughing at it 😭
Mute before hitting play,,, you'll thank me later
I did mutch better! Thanks. 👍🇸🇪
Somehow, ski crashes always seem worse when narrated over in German!
I guess those crashes went downhill.
It would be cool to see maybe ONE of these clips in it's entirety without being chopped apart
Due to copyrights
@@speedkingz I wasn't aware of that, sorry. Removing my original comment.
No problem, thanks for being here :)
Downhillers have to be fearless.
The music of this video is absolutely indecent. A lack of respect for these athletes
Turn the music off
The fact that Hermann Mayer and Vitalini left the track basically unscathed is beyond comprehension. In the following days Mayer was able to win a couple of gold medals at the Olympics. 😂😂😂 After that fall he earned his nickname Herminator
Oh, Todd Brooker will cartwheel all over the track? DROP THE BASS!
Wow putting happy music background behind this is disrespectful xD
2:43 the yeet was Soo disrespectful
The most famous crash isn't downhill but ski jump on the Wide World of Sports, the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.
Does it count if you pass the finish line without any skis?
Yes, but they lose to much time, and i bet they dont care what time they get either
Brooker from '87, that's the scariest ragdoll/yard sale I've ever seen.
the worst was reinstadler in wengen, period. Seeing the pictures in my head wants me to vomit till today. Kilde crashed today in same style at the same spot. Due to better security nowadays "only" a open fracture to his leg.
Exactly why he's not here
Kilde kinda slided into the net, reinstadler litteraly flew straight into it, so its a small difference, although i dont want to know what would have happened with the old security standards today.
@@florian_luxi My thoughts exactly
Not only. A couple of fractures in the shoulder also.
It is a bit dark to give honorable mentions for crashes
Agree
i was convinced todd brooker was turning into a helicopter🤣
Best lesson to prevent anyone from overspeed
The music destroys the whole video
The moments doesnt match the music
Those were brutal!
What’s this music 😭
Kitzbuhel has flattend the vicious hill just before the finish. Many accidents occur on the Hausbergkante; steep, bumpy and the racer is tired.
Jepp, noticed the past years the zielsprung has become less and the Hausberg has been taken down. Guess it's security
The music😂💀💀
🔥🔥
Some of these courses were just to extreme
anyone who puts comments on this video portraying any of these skiing crashes as in someway funny/amusing should think again...............
why arent axel in first place????? goat
Because the other ones are worse?
Music in the background is so annyoing
😳
music ruined whole video😂
The music 💀😭
It's awful.
#3 video...amazing how anyone survived that 😮😢
Break dance power move
Not only this, Maier (1) won one Olympic gold medal only three days after his crash and a second one six days later.
Do they score extra points if they land in another time zone?
Dear God but would someone please replace the "music" track. It's truly appalling😮
What exactly is the point of that shitty music?

Haha loved it. Thanks for the morning laugh session
Any time!
Number three be helicopter break dancing down the mountain
2:04 I am sorry, but this made me laugh!
why else would we watch?? cos we're supa-caring??
Brutal, no fear with downhill racing
Nope
No fear with some but not all bro. Fellow MX, Baja, Rally and road. They have no F in brakes @@speedkingz
No mention of Anja Pearson's Olympic crash??? Most air I've ever seen from a super G racer.
Which year?
@speedkingz can't remember what year, probably around 10 or 12 years ago. It was crazy.
I saw it, i just screamed thinking she will die... awfull, two days after she was racing. A big big one. From an ex downhiller
It was in Vancoucer 2010@@speedkingz
Where can I download the music?
Soundcloud
number 6 managed to cut the finish line at least
Don’t forget gernot's crash his guts were spilling out
Won't include stuff like that here
Unsensibler kommentar
that was wengen (i think) , but such crashes should not be for entertainment.. so thank you speedkings for not showing those!
Don't forget Ulrike Maier 1994 i Garmisch Partenkirchen...She died 😢
Exactly why she's not here
Jeez... that music kills the video. Never ever add music just because you like it. Always add music that fits the content!
Yes, agree, but copyrights though. Would have been silent otherwise
Gernot Reinstadler left a trail of blood on the final S of the Lauberhorn after his crash. He died hours later of his horrific injuries.
Albrecht suffered a serious brain injury there on the bottom of the streif. They have since smoothed out that last bump before the finish line. Todd Brooker puts on the best yard sales though. I might be wrong but, But I think that was Aspen. Or that might have been when he did the one legged thing coming off berlin wall on the aspen downhill. Someone clarify.
This Brooker is from Kitz, and Stemmle did the one foot on the wall in the bottom of Steilhang Kitz if that's what you meant
Stemmle Is the steilhang. The one footed turn where Brooker had one foot over his head, I don't think he wrecked on that one. Stemmles crash is in this video.@@speedkingz
Instead of smoothing they better make a jump like in freestyle
What's with pop music in the background? Is this funny to you?
It’s not pop music
Are they al right? Did they survive?
Yes they did
does it make me a horrible person if im trying not to laugh at these?
In the third one it looked like he was break dancing
Number 01 Maier at Val d'Isere (France) that part of the slope is called "the depression"
Nagano 1998 Olympics
@@speedkingz yes a saw it on another video..But still there's practicly the same turn in Val d'Isere. That was I had the first idea on the french spot
Never mind..The good situation is that Maier despite his crash won a gold medal 3 days later...
Yes, that was incredible. Shows his strength
Number three is absolutely brutal.
But they didn't show the guy who ripped his pelvis in half and left a trail of blood as he slid down the hill.
I guess because it's too graphic, and he died in hospital. Wasn't as spectacular as some of these, but was the worst I've seen.
Yes, agree
I would guess number 6 got the worst injuries, he landed right on his back and tried to block the fall with both wrists too
The music sucks 🙄
