    Just wanted to say I've been watching your channel for a while now i love your content and I like that your videos aren't just twitch VODs where they talk to twitch chat and not the viewer.

      I appreciate that! No distractions here. :)

      Agreed! Not terribly helpful when I wanna know what is happening in the game they are supposedly streaming. Also other streamers' video cam box occupies screen space on top of that in addition to other visual clutter. Brian keeps it real clean and pro here.

      twitch stream vods are hard for me to watch; i definitely prefer bosh's approach

    Well played again! Fun fact: PO had the highest win rate across all 3 EW Legacy Events for decks with 10+ pilots. Just shy of 62% with 2 mirror matches. 2 copies in TOP 32 EW NA!

    you mentioned maybe putting your last league on channel or maybe not, I'd just like to say that I personally would really like it. I've been loving the really sweaty EW prep recently, big fan of watching you play some strong decks

    it's interesting how many times you're openly surprised that you can win thanks to the reservoir

    I always think of the great principle of Chestertons fence when I read deckguides and sideboard guides.
    "Chesterton's Fence is a simple rule of thumb that suggests that you should never destroy a fence, change a rule, or do away with a tradition until you understand why it's there in the first place. The principle assumes that fences have a purpose, were carefully planned, and cost time and money to erect."

    One of these days I'm going to jump into a non-Bazaar vintage deck. I know that seems paradoxal to my nature, but I am hopeful that when I do I have a positive outcome. (pre-emptive boo!)

      As someone that is buying into bazaar right now, I don't think you deserve a boo. You deserve a cheer.

    I would call this deck Bananaphone. Since the classic song goes "Ring, ring, ring ring ring, Bananaphone." And you seem to win by going ring ring ring ring, then calling your opponent with the Bananaphone (Reservoir) which is fatal just like in the song.

    @17:30 is it worth playing monolith, monolith, nothing to guarantee that your first construct is out of bolt range? It commits hard to the construct plan but a lot of RUG decks are on only one or two unholy heat and it's not he worst way to buy time to draw 0 drops for your reservoir/engine plan.

  • @dimensionalineage
    @dimensionalineage ปีที่แล้ว +1

    39:30 Around here, could you not simply attack with a 15/15 (or larger) Construct with opponent totally tapped out and nearly beat at 20 life rather than aspire towards the complicated combo kill?
    52:09 What does exiling the One Ring in response to its draw accomplish? I can understand if you want opponent to sink mana into it, but otherwise as it only taps sans mana investment…? And would opponent not still gain a card if exiled in response since an ability exists on the stack independently of its source?

    • @BoshNRoll
      @BoshNRoll  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Tapping the one ring is the cost. Adding a counter then drawing cards equal to the counter is the ability. The ability will still resolve, but there’s no ring to put a counter on so they’ll draw zero cards.

  • @vaentkhing579

    here is a question i've been meaning to ask for awhile: considering how much you record and the amount of commentary you provide, do you ever catch yourself accidentally talking out loud when you play in paper?

  • @connormcrae3492
    @connormcrae3492 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    5:30 you actually draw the same amount of cards and take less damage for keeping the new ring in this spot

    • @BoshNRoll
      @BoshNRoll  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's only the same number of cards if you assume you won't be able to untap it. At 14 life I'm trying to win next turn and it's worth 1 point of damage to be higher on my ring chain.

    • @keith81187
      @keith81187 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s only the same for the following turncycle. When your draw three then four cards it’s one less each time than if you had kept the old ring

    Round 1 Game 3 couldn’t opponent dome you for lethal with Broadside Bombardier in your upkeep?

    • @gabrielkauffman4265
      @gabrielkauffman4265 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No. Bombardier is a boast ability, which can only be activated after the creature with boast has attacked, and only once per turn.

    • @BoshNRoll
      @BoshNRoll  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to have attacked that turn to use it. Can't attack on my turn.

    Hello!

  • @buildorburn
    @buildorburn ปีที่แล้ว

    i think when youre cycling rings you should keep new ring over old ring if it has 2 or fewer counters.

    • @BoshNRoll
      @BoshNRoll  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Based on what? The only metrics which ring you keep cares about are life total and likelihood to win soon. As long as my life total can sustain another turn with my big ring, it makes it more likely I’ll win soon.

    • @TonyScapone
      @TonyScapone ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly, this is usually incorrect and is one of the most common mistakes I see.

    • @buildorburn
      @buildorburn ปีที่แล้ว

      if ring is on 2 it will draw 3 cards next turn, tapping the new ring gives you 1 right away and then gives you 2 the turn after, totaling the same number of cards

    • @buildorburn
      @buildorburn ปีที่แล้ว

      so you are missing on a card 2 turns later, but you get one immediately. i think thats worth it, but i can def see it working out the other way :)

    • @TonyScapone
      @TonyScapone ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The more you play that tape, the more those numbers are soooo much worse. Unless you think life total is that tight, it is usually correct to keep old ring.

  • @JapanischErfahren

    Why do you say "they" when talking about your opponents? Are you only playing 2on1s? I'm sorry, I'm not a native speaker of English.

    • @archerjagv2993
      @archerjagv2993 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JapanischErfahren They is what you use when you do not know their gender.

    • @BoshNRoll
      @BoshNRoll  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They is a generic 3rd person singular pronoun. I don't know my opponent's gender, so I use the generic option.

    • @makuanito86
      @makuanito86 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JapanischErfahren' they ' can both be plural (as in a group of people) and singular (generic, when you don't know the opponent is a he or a she).
