Wut? That moira had 7k heals and 10k dmg. He was pulling his heals weight and the dps' weight as well, since they were lacking. @@marcusturner0822 Right?!? It was so weird. Could it be that GM games are so high level to a point where they regress? Like a Martial Artist that fought only Grand Masters and is surprised to receive a successful kick in the balls from an amateur, because he knew that for his enemy to do so would mean dropping his defense, so he was certain nobody would try, but when it happened, he couldn't adjust in time, or something like that. Otherwise I can't explain how Moira could survive in a GM game with Bronze movements.
07:30 actually... a lot of people are saying to stop straffing when you're dueling a Moira since Moiras dont require aim to do any damage, better save your energy and focus solely on aiming yourself (unless she is ulting of course).
I think instead of hating all Moira's, try to understand why some act like they do. In respect of Nolan, dps Moira's can change the game outcome if the rest of the team can act with it. Locking up the enemy teams tank and two healer's in the backline as a single Moira can be quite effective if the rest of your team can handle the remaining two dps characters. That said, their main thing should be to heal your team of course and yes Moira player should heal the majority of the time. But to fade and force the enemy team to turn their backs against your team is not always bad. Guess many will hate my comment, but I'm just trying to be open for why some act like they do. Please be gentle with your hate..
Moira's at lower ranks try to do this but end up with like 4.2k damage and 2.5k healing (probably self) and the match is a wash. Also yes, Junkrat players are weird af. The other day when apparently my whole team was like 100+ ping I thought to myself "what can I play for dps that doesn't require me to be able to aim or know exactly where my teammates or enemies are or really be able to do anything?" Picked junkrat and consistently got kills with little to no idea what was happening. You literally don't have to be good at anything
As someone that plays Moira often and regularly does the high damage angle, I completely agree. It just doesn't do much for her. I get exasperated when an Ana I'm playing with thinks this is a good idea.
On australian servers theres a tik tok Moira in pretty much every game and it makes the game so hard to enjoy, especially when they are on my team and will just walk right past me when i have 1 hp and they wont even think of healing

just wanted to say dps moira is a valid strategy with her kit currently. there were some things this moira did not do smart though 1: when offangleing, and you LOS a supp and a tank, dps the supp, not the tank. you can farm ult really easily this way, (so it's whatever if you need to farm ult fast) but pressuring supports is just better for winning fights. you want impactful damage, not just damage... (there are times where you don't want to LOS both, say if there is a sigma who has rock u wanna make sure you aren't in LOS of sigma, or are staring right at the man waiting for his CD to react accordingly) 2: fade to escape. walk to flank. 3: heal orb to win long fights or when an enemy is following you and you are disengaging (so you don't die). dmg orb to secure kills or add extra pressure/dmg. just a general support moira tip: 4: realize your damage and flanks prevents your allies from taking damage. if both of the enemy dps are looking at me, guess who is not taking damage? my team. that's how moira heals the best, other than her healing of course. since you are a support, you are more valuable than 1 dps, so don't just be permanently distracting one dps, the dps is winning (getting more value), your team only has one person who can heal, they have one less person who can do damage. every character on your team can do damage, only 2* people on your team can heal. when flanking, and not going for direct kills, try to distract a support, two dps, or the tank. usually a tank wont care about a moira unless they're the only one there, or they're pressuring the backline, so going for a supp is a good option to get the enemy tank to fall back.
People in these comments are actually saying this Moira isn't good is absurd. Complete mastery of fade, targets supports, bullied their tank the entirety of the fight, and made space constantly by distracting in the backline. The entire team focused on her. If this is braindead, then everyone should be a GM player by now.
@Madao literally none of this long message matters bc the moira is GM. if "all moiras do this but with more emphasis on healing" they'd all be GM. He's very obviously good he just plays suboptimally because he wants to dps moira.
@@MyouKyuubi bro that win rate is over 6 games as Moira. Going 2-4 is not a meaningful stat at all. This Moira did a ton of work and was extremely close to winning this game in a GM lobby. Most Moira players would not do this, not even close. All good Moiras focus on doing damage in the back line as much as possible because that is the only part of Moiras kit. If you want to play support at a high level you have to maximize your character slot beyond healing. Kiriko brings cleanse and a godlike ult, Lucio speed boost, Mercy damage boost etc. You will not rise in ranks well just heal botting random players. A lot of lower level Moira players end up stuck because just sitting around healing people who go on to lose fights eventually to teams with supports providing more than healing are mostly just feeding ult charge in the form of more health to take. If you want to succeed with Moira you HAVE to take back line kills as much as you can because literally the only thing she can do that other supports can’t is go in alone, get picks, and get out. And yes, very clearly other support picks are better overall. You will have an easier time climbing with Kiriko or Lucio or Mercy if you put the time in to get good with them, but if you have fun playing Moira and want to do well, this is the sort of thing you have to do.
@@MyouKyuubi :P xD xD :P :P :P Yeah if you watched the video you'd have seen the Moira playtime was too low for a win percentage to be interpreted without a massive grain of salt. It actually pissed me off how much he doesn’t heal because you can still do basically everything he’s doing now while still at least throwing a healing orb once in a while
Contrary to popular opinion, the Moira is a good example of why the term "support" fits them more than "healers". While Supports main role should be to heal their team, if they stick to *solely* healing without using their kit to do things other than healing, then they're not supporting the team to the fullest extent they can. Example. Lucio isn't mainly used for his healing boost. He's mainly to give a speed boost to the team for aggressive pushes. Using Ana's nade to anti a big chunk of the team to allow your team to push while they can't heal is a HUGE play that wins games. So having a Moira going DPS using her skinny hitbox and tracking suck to distract/annoy/kill their supports is what wins games (in this case, it was a tight win on Jay's team). Yes I'm a support main so this will come off as biased, but these are facts.
the guy completely threw the game, so I have no idea what your point is man. Why the fuck would you ever choose a champ that offers - literally - ZERO utility (Moira) as an example to say supports instead of healers? Literally Lucio, Ana, Brig etc are all way better examples... I get your point, but choosing an inting DPS Moira gameplay to make your point is utterly ridiculous man
That Moira has a win rate of 34%. And Jay won that game. So no, as a support it's not normal to have more damage than healing. Only Zen is allowed to do that, and that only in low ranks. And yes, I am a support main and I always put my team on first place when it comes to healing. The only moment when I go DPS as Moira and flank them is when I know for sure that my other support can help solo an entire team. So yeah, there is a big difference between SUPPORT and DPS SUPPORT.
@@dennon7901 The reason you pick moira is because of fade and the self sustain, the only other support with a similar amount of escapability is kiriko with her teleport, but using teleport forces you away from the flank and the duel, while moira's fade is a lot more versatile. The playstyle of the moira in the video was hardly throwing, when DSPStanky resleased his video on playing lucio as a flanker-dps, people called him a thrower and said that the playstyle could never be used in a high elo lobby or on PC. But today "Reddit Lucio" is a common term and we've seen countless lucio players hit rank 1 playing like that. I hit GM 3 on support last season playing moira in a similar style, I'd usually end games with almost as much damage as healing, often out-damaging the rest of the team. The moira in the video had poor mechanics even for a moira player and pretty poor cooldown usage etc. and even with the constant mistakes he did, was still able to provide ample value to his team by constantly harrassing the enemy, getting kills, wasting their resources, their time etc. Imagine what a better player can achieve with that type of playstyle.
@@Oreo-y4o The moira player had 5 games played. Had he won the game vs Jay3 his winrate would have been positive, and it was a close game that was lost in the last fight. The comedic part is that he probably would have won the game if he kept on dpsing to keep himself alive with the lifesteal until he got his fade back, faded to a safer position, threw a damage orb to kill Jay3 and then just killed the dva, but he instead decided to play "correctly" and healed his team which led to him dying and his team losing the game.
I've actually run into a few moira's who tried to heal, but I guess forgot that they do need to do some damage to keep their heals up... was frustrating. Yes - low ranked. triple bronze last season, currently silver, plat, silver (play all roles but very little time ususally). But that was like the opposite of the tiktok moira, with even less heals done at the end.
That’s prolly why they lost they had there supports more focused on damage than healing and it’s not like he really made any plans happen for his team he got alot off people one shot then they escaped
Visually, it looks like a lock on, when in reality it should be thought of as a very wide beam. If that beam goes over any point of an enemies hitbox, it appears as though it's locking on.
Playing support right now has almost no impact in fights when you have a Genji or Doom fist who just jumps back line and rolls on you. This is why we get a lot of Moira dps, since the dps hardly ever peel off for their support unless they're getting pocketed. Especially in lower rank lobbies.

Not saying every Moira should go full on DPS but I also feel like a lot of players don’t take full advantage of her versatility as another source of pressure.
10:39 to be fair. Flankrat was taking too much damage for any of moiras heals to save him. If she had seen him 1 or 2 seconds sooner then maybe. But he was as good as dead by this point. The play here at this point would be to focus healing the rest of the team and maybe deny the enemy the mega. What i would consider bad plays here would be the afk hiding at the begining instead of being with their team. I dont think this dude is bad tho.
But what do i know
He died 16 times LOL
he is so bad. he i'm dead serious he is garbage. even bronze would perform better
so you shouldn't heal teammates if they're gonna die anyway? what kind of pisspoor attitude is that?
you dont know if he is gonna die, but you can be damn sure that the odds of him dying if you dont heal him is alot higher.
it might have saved him enough time to kill someone targeting him.
there's literally no excuse not to heal a teammate unless it'll cost both of your lifes and give the enemy an advantage.
its cause their Moria died that you won, legit. The Moria tried to heal and died for it they lost their biggest dps lol
Wut? That moira had 7k heals and 10k dmg. He was pulling his heals weight and the dps' weight as well, since they were lacking. And if you were tilted from getting suddenly killed, kind of proves they're doing a good job :S. I'm talking about the first 30s of the video lol. At 5m he stalled the whole enemy team outside the junkcity where the cart was, wasting their time by bringing the fight at the first checkpoint almost.
However yeah, his decisions were a bit subpar. This aggressive style is great, but you gotta help out if they're in front off you dying. What surprises me is that he didn't even try to avoid hits, stayed pretty much still. In Gold you'd be dead. Not sure how he managed to survive so much while staying still, no dancing, no crouching, he was serving his head on a silver platter, and those GM didn't kill him still. Wut?
most of her healing is self heal and she just farmed damage with low dps suck and damage orb spam
I agree about her movement. I truly don’t understand how she’s able to stand still and barely crouch or move side to side, in a GM game, while being out of position, and not get rolled
@@marcusturner0822 Right?!? It was so weird. Could it be that GM games are so high level to a point where they regress? Like they feel too comfortable at the idea that everyone plays their roles in a certain way (taking the appropriate distance, the right covers, the right moment of walking out and in etc), that the moment someone doesn't play at that high standard, they go in mechanical shock? lol.
Moira lives in his head rent free

The other day when apparently my whole team was like 100+ ping I thought to myself "what can I play for dps that doesn't require me to be able to aim or know exactly where my teammates or enemies are or really be able to do anything?" 0:34 Bro’s got bicep holy jesus
just wanted to say dps moira is a valid strategy with her kit currently. there were some things this moira did not do smart though
1: when offangleing, and you LOS a supp and a tank, dps the supp, not the tank. you can farm ult really easily this way, (so it's whatever if you need to farm ult fast) but pressuring supports is just better for winning fights. you want impactful damage, not just damage... (there are times where you don't want to LOS both, say if there is a sigma who has rock u wanna make sure you aren't in LOS of sigma, or are staring right at the man waiting for his CD to react accordingly)
2: fade to escape. walk to flank.
3: heal orb to win long fights or when an enemy is following you and you are disengaging (so you don't die). dmg orb to secure kills or add extra pressure/dmg.
just a general support moira tip:
4: realize your damage and flanks prevents your allies from taking damage. if both of the enemy dps are looking at me, guess who is not taking damage? my team. that's how moira heals the best, other than her healing of course.
since you are a support, you are more valuable than 1 dps, so don't just be permanently distracting one dps, the dps is winning (getting more value), your team only has one person who can heal, they have one less person who can do damage. every character on your team can do damage, only 2* people on your team can heal. when flanking, and not going for direct kills, try to distract a support, two dps, or the tank. usually a tank wont care about a moira unless they're the only one there, or they're pressuring the backline, so going for a supp is a good option to get the enemy tank to fall back.
0:34 god damn didn’t realize my boy was swole like that 😭

People in these comments are actually saying this Moira isn't good is absurd. Complete mastery of fade, targets supports, bullied their tank the entirety of the fight, and made space constantly by distracting in the backline. The entire team focused on her. If this is braindead, then everyone should be a GM player by now.
@@MyouKyuubi How long has it been since you felt the touch of another human? I'm asking out of genuine concern for your mental health.
@@MyouKyuubi :P xD xD :P :P :P

A good moira wont die in a 1v1. Just save your fade to get out and you can play into their backline all day
I feel so bad for the Moria, because he had to heal his teammates
They should remove the self healing from the leaderboard
I get your point, but choosing an inting DPS Moira gameplay to make your point is utterly ridiculous man
@@dennon7901 bro typed a whole essay about this jus to be wrong

I really love Moira. She is og hero designed into OW2, low CDs, escape mechanic, self-defense, opportunity to make plays, when dps players cant land any shot :D
My winrate with her is 61%, mostly losted games were tank diffs like Zarya in Junkertown against 2 snipers on attack, Hammond on defense Kings road ignoring dps enemies "eating" backline and other similar weird choices when enemy team played right tank for the scenario and our tank dont.
Her weakness is lacking utilities, such as anti, discord orb or suzu. This make her weak in high elo where team coordination is much more important.
