    I have had a Jonsered 2255 with a 20” bar for about 10 years and just bought an Echo 590 with a 24” bar a couple of weeks ago. I have been helping neighbors with cleanup from hurricane Idalia, running a half-dozen tanks of fuel through both saws. Either saw would meet my needs with the Echo getting the edge in power, smoothness and price. More importantly, the Echo doesn’t drip bar oil all over the place when I’m not using it🤔. I did notice the Echo bogging down the first tank, but I was only cutting at 3/4 throttle, sort of following a Stihl break-in procedure. After 3 tanks I shifted to the “grip it and rip it” method and it has no problems ripping through big live oak, water oak, turpentine pine, etc. I’d love to hear an update on the Echo after a few tanks of fuel. Very nice video, and thanks for posting; I learned a lot!

    That’s a great size LOG!
    Chainsaw is only as good as the chain, just like tires on a race car. And a good tune, good video! Thanks for the update

    I just started watching you when I was looking up stuff on the CS600p and there isn't much on the CS600p. So I started watching you with the CS590 since they are pretty much the same. I now own a CS590 to run a 18" and the CS600 to run the 24". My grandfather owned the CS600 for 8 years and he beat the Echo name to spell Bitc4 That saw never left the bed of his 2002 2wd s10 with a 2.2 4 banger. Snow, rain, hail, dust, chip and oil. It was even in the back of his bed when Hurricane Sandy hit in Pennsylvania. Before he passed he got talked into a MS390 and it didn't even last it's first year without needing a rebuild. I now own his Echo and after doing the muffler and carb mod I'm getting 13,500rpms and ripping the 24" and 27" thanks to your humor and knowledge. Also I'm a Mopar and Ram guy myself. Have a 01 2500 with the v10, 98 1500 5.2 5 speed and a 70 Plymouth Duster 340 4speed that's a on going project.

    The 330 is like the little guy that plays football, there are bigger guys but the 330 is all muscle !

    I’ll never buy a power cut chain again. Nice finds there friend! They both run real nice and ya I can hear that echo still needs to break in. It’ll be fun to watch. Nice bit of info there👍

      Oh yeah...I don't buy them. I also don't keep them on a saw that is a keeper. But for that 455...I'm just fine with it. I'm trying to decide on what bar to put on the 330. Very indecisive about staying at 22" or dropping it down to 20" or even 18". That's why I haven't put a better chain on it yet.

      Not sure what they were thinking with those goofy rakers. I’ve never ran a 330 but it looks like an 18” would suit it

    • @timothybyrom5560
      @timothybyrom5560 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rakers can be took down on any of them. I've got one of those on a 3.4 eager beaver, and it cuts fine. I wouldn't buy another, but you can make it cut decent.

      Another subscriber just said it is Oregon Vanguard chain, and that's I, definitely! Yeah, real shite if you ask me, but great for a saw I'm not keeping. Supposed to better clean out the cut. I stopped even looking for chain at Lowes. They don't offer ANY good chain. All are some variation of semi-chisle or safety chain. I'm waiting for the new Stihl hexa chain to hit the stores to do a full chain comparison.

    I'd say a good eight hour day in the woods, then a muffler mod,and you'll have a torquey firewood saw.

    I like your videos so please use your seat belt! Bucket in the air towing and pushing on a log could easily roll the tractor. My brother's friend died recently when he was pinned by the ROPS when he was thrown off. I'm not saying I would wear it always but bucket work and towing for sure!

    After some run time pull the limiter caps off the carb and retune it. I upped the RPMs on my 620 by about 2k.

    I always call that style of chain with the fold over raker vanguard chain which I think is technically husky chain but wouldn't doubt oregon having their own.

    • @novicelumberjack
      @novicelumberjack  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right, it's Vanguard. Definitely Oregon though. If Husky is making it now, then they've copied Oregons design. Husky only started making their own chain in the past few years. Oregon has made Husqvarna bars and chains for decades. They also made a ton of others too. I have NOS chain for Poulan, Mcculloch, and even some Pioneer. Their brands are stampped right into the side...but still made by Oregon.

      The only chain Husqvarna makes is x-cut chain. Full chisel or semi chisel. No safety chain.

    So if buying new do you prefer the 455 Rancger or the 590 Timberwolf

    • @novicelumberjack
      @novicelumberjack  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The Rancher 455 or 460 have no redeeming qualities when matched against the 590 timber wolf. None. There is not one single pragmatic reason to go with the 455 or 460 Rancher. The only reason at all would be something like preference. Maybe you like the Husqvarna brand and want to support it, or maybe you don't like shopping at Home Depot, but you love Lowes. As for the saw build construction, quality, power, and speed...the ECHO murders Ranchers.

    are we going to have a wack off between these two saws?

  • @zeromark202
    @zeromark202 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Vanguard safety chain on the ranchers is absolutely horrible worst chain ever made! The echo chain is to tight as soon as you let of the throttle the chain stops that’s why the paint is burnt off from previous owner. Both those saws have adjustable oilers would make sure there maxed out. Can’t wait for the Wack-Off!!

    The 455 looks a little cowardice, I assume it is going on down the road.
