This was 20 years ago. That sounds crazy to me. I remember distinctly buying this album when it first came out. 2002 to 2022 doesn't seem that long to me, but 1982 to 2002 seemed like an eternity. Take it I wasn't born til '85. The older you get the faster shit goes.
I feel the same. I was born 83 and when I was kid the 60s and even 70s seemed ancient but now even the early 2000s doesn't seem like it was that long ago

Oh dude I bet there is a lot! I do live video production for music festivals for about 10 years and I have 20tb. archives of full sets of festivals and I cant release most of it due to copyrights from the artists management or the festival itself. There are endless graveyards of amazing performances that might see the day of light if they want it available.

Down is a perfect example of people who love what they do. Every album is just perfect and this comes from their passion and love for their biggest influences, for music, and New Orleans. They're genuine. That's why I love them.

I remember watching DOWN on 2nd stage during this tour it was beyond good.
I was at this show. Down was easily the best band I saw the whole day.

No buddy, you must have heard it wrong or you wanted to say days instead of minutes, the band wanted the album to have a "bluesy" feel, so they moved into Phil Anselmo's barn, dubbed "Nodferatu's Lair", in Southern Louisiana where they lived and recorded the album in 28 days without anyone leaving the house. You're right about COC though, i frkn love their album Wiseblood (1996)!

I was at this show. Met Phil and he was junked out of his mind. Check out the Opie and Anthony interview he did with them after the show. It was one of the best/funniest interviews I've ever heard Phil give.

I was there. It was hot as hell in that parking lot. Met the guys backstage. My wife was standing next to Zakk Wylde during this set and had no idea who he was.
Saw this Ozzfest in Columbus at old Polaris Amphitheater. Gd it was hot that yr but Down rattled the fckin bolts loose from that 2nd stage. Got to meet Rex briefly while he was just casually driving a golf cart around the lawn totally unnoticed by everyone. He slowed down when he noticed I spotted him and was about to freak, I offered him my full beer I had just bought. He replied with "you're gonna need that brother, and this one too. Better raise em up quick in this heat" Obviously I chugged his half cup and my full cup. Followed by me hurling from heat exhaustion 30 mins later. Good times

I saw them at Ozzfest 2002 in Denver. Phil got passed that some punks in the back refused to interact with the music and jumped off stage and got in their face. Dude almost shit his pants when Phil was towering over him lol. But he was headbanging after that.

Wow. This is cool to see. I've looked for footage of DOWN from 2002 but have never really found any. I saw in Camden a couple of days before this footage and I was soooooooo bummed because I was looking forward to DOWN the most but Phil was a mess for pretty much their entire set. He barely made it to the stage that afternoon. I watched him walk from their area in the back to the stage and he had some dude I didn't recognize helping walk. In hind site...it was pretty obvious back in 2002 that Phil wasn't doing so well. Glad he's still here! \m/
He sounds pretty zapped here too.
@@MABMGuitar I kinda hear it but he was far worse when I saw them.It may have been the day before when I saw them if not it was less than a few days. There was a part during the set where he wouldn't shut up...now I was no stranger to Phil and his talking on stage but this was bad. At one point Rex walked over to him and kinda scoffed at him and gave him the motion to "move it along" and then people in the crowd started yelling at him to "shut up!" I think what bugged me the most was that he wasn't even singing at times. Just mumbling into the mic and stumbling around.
