    Hi, I'm new to your channel and I'm a vegetarian Puerto Rican! I'm so happy I'm not the only one. Lol I get so much flack from friends and family because I'm a vegetarian. I loved seeing this recipe and it took me back to my childhood. God bless and mucha gracias!

    So excited my friend Naturallyhoneybee1226 told me about your page!! I didn't have corn starch and used baking power. Crossing my fingers it will come out good. Can't wait to try your other recipes. BEST wishes

      Maria Bencebi yay! Welcome to the #livingplantfullyFAM ❤️ uh oh I wouldn’t use baking powder to replace the corn starch as it doesn’t have the thickening power. Baking powder is a leavening agent not a thickening agents. Maybe try another starch, but the amounts may vary. I hope this helps 👍🏽

    I make tembleque all the time. I love that it's traditionally vegan, but some people add gelatin to their tembleque 😝

    Thank god I found your channel I love your recipes. Can I use refrigerated coconut milk that comes in the carton or does it have to be canned coconut milk? I wanna make it tonight.

    • @LivingPlantfully
      @LivingPlantfully  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you!! And welcome to the #livingplantfullyFAM !! You can use refrigerated coconut milk, you may need to adjust the sugar if it is an already sweetened milk. As long as you still use the same amounts of everything it should come out just as great! 👍🏽 don’t forget to take pics and share w/ me on social media!! ❤️

    Can I use something more plant based friendly than corn starch?

    • @LivingPlantfully
      @LivingPlantfully  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually tried with tapioca starch but it didn't set up enough. Maybe you can try with something else like potato starch? let me know if you have a successful outcome with any substitutes👍🏾

      What's not plant based about cornstarch?
