- In this video, I explore what Rameshwaram Cafe teaches us about UX design and how UX principles apply to everyday experiences. I talk about some UX principles I noticed in the design of Rameshwaram Cafe and how they relate to screen-based UX design. It’s interesting to see how visibility of system status and other principles play out in a physical space, and how those ideas can transfer to digital design. The cafe's design is inspired by temples, making it feel welcoming and open. You can enter from all sides, and the way they placed everything makes it feel like you can just gather and spend time there. It’s not just about social service or something, but about their business goals too. They want people to feel comfortable, eat quickly, and have a good experience.
I also discuss how the cafe's location is strategic, being on a corner so you can see all the activity inside from multiple roads. This visibility attracts more people. The design is very thoughtful, from the statues and shades to the materials used, like granite, making it feel special and welcoming.
I explain how the cafe's design aligns with their business goals, making sure everything is efficient and pleasant so they can serve more customers quickly. This isn’t about doing social service but optimizing their business.
The holistic customer experience is another big point. They take care of every detail, like the scent and music, to create a memorable experience. Customers might just talk about the food, but it’s the whole design and atmosphere that makes them want to come back.

Really great video. This gave me a perspective to look at things differently. Very informative
Thats really great, 🤩 how you decoded a space from the eyes of UX😍, I loving it.
I like the way that how you are teaching us ux design in non text book manners 👍🏻
Anudeep, I loved the system status point the most, that users on the road are also engaged and everything going on inside is transparent
Yup that was one crazy learning that day!
@@UXAnudeepVLOGs-vi1jc Anudeep please make more vlogs like these, I was literally watching this while eating instead of a movie, it's both fun and insightful
The point where the video goes crazy is 14:11
“To make a good experience every micro interaction should give emotions to customers” true emotions make the journey better but emotions are not always positive
How do we as a UX designer ensure that the users can feel some emotion throughout the journey and ensure it’s positive experience?
You aim for it. But ideal experience with absolute positive emotions throughout is not practically possible. You keep experimenting to see what experience is largely working out. Ultimately it all ties to the business impact of the experience.
People who go to eat at restaurants is usually called "Diners"
Appreciating how a cafe is designed to improve ux is crazy.. whats more crazy is identifying the problem for which it might be designed (users personas 🤣 etc.)
This proves that ux is everywhere around us 😃
Hey anudeep this is bharath from Vizag we have Gadiraju palace (restaurant and hotel) you can have more UX here I can join with you.
Would love to! You have contacts to get access?
Can we say Guest one who visited the cafe 🤔 ?
Haha not really a guest as they are not having accommodation here. Customers is better.
"If you give half an hour more, I will talk even more about UX" I have to be like this🫡
