I recently bought a bunch of games that had been on my wish list for ages like A Short Hike and Wytchwood to celebrate my teaching semester finishing/ using birthday vouchers. And what have I done with all my free time over the teaching break? Started a new Stardew Valley play through rather than touch any of the new games 🤦♀️ but it makes me happy that they’re all sitting there, waiting for me, when I want to play them
This is me pushing you to start on A Short Hike, cause I've played and beaten it, omg... You can start in small spurts of time and slowly unlock it, it's not a long game, but when I got to the end, I totes balled my eyes out. Such a touching end to a beautiful story, I highly recommend you starting on it!! But, yeah Stardew is great too... ;P
I usually never comment and especially not when I'm so late to watching it, but I enjoyed it so much and wanted to share what's in my backlog (or rather wishlist?). Garden Story has been on there for ages and your video makes me wanna play it even more now!! Might ask it for my birthday which is in about 8 weeks. And then Bear&Breakfast has recently been added to the wishlist. It just looks really cute. Others that have been on there for a long time are Death's Door (not sure if this is considered a cosy game tho?) and Tunic. Happy to have found this video and your channel and am looking forward to more of your content. :)
I just found your channel yesterday and I've been binging your content as I find them very calming. I too work in corporate and trying to go through my gaming backlog. Its a constant struggle I'm afraid. Take care and have a wonderful weekend.
Wytchwood is the only game I've ever completed! It's such a wonderful game and I adore all the different story elements and the aesthetic and the mechanics.... Just everything about it!
I highly highly recommend playing garden story on switch on a night you just want to cozy up with something that's not super complicated but still has a great story line. I completed it in about a week but I really took my time and savored it, I feel like a lot of negative reviews where because the gameplay gets somewhat repetitive but really the game is more about the story. Definitely one of my top games of the year so far
I’m the kind of person who struggles to get into new games, but Eastward looks like my kind of thing. I love story-heavy games and I love this game’s aesthetic from what I’ve seen. Definitely gonna check it out
Absolutely loved Eastward can’t recommend enough. I’m currently playing through Wytchwood and it’s stunning, the script is amazing. Instead of just ‘witch puts x in y’ there’s beautiful prose that you just can’t, and shouldn’t skip through! I played through first hour of Sakura but need to get back to it as I enjoyed what I played but I started too many games at once and I got obsessed with YS IX Monstrum now which is a totally different type of game lol!
I put SOOOOO many hours into Kittaria Fables. It was so good. I put it down once I finished the main storyline but it was really fun. I have currently been obsessed with Bug Fables
i've owned my time at portia for probably two years now and still haven't even opened the game 😅 I think the next game in my backlog to play is haven park. it just seems to take so much energy to get into a new game, especially farming sims because they're usually so hefty
MTaP is my all time favourite game. It has EVERYTHING. Honestly, it is worth getting into. I have played Stardew, Animal Crossing, the lot, and MTaP is my favourite. It sits very close to my heart.
My current comfort game is Cozy Grove because I can really only play until the tasks finish for the day and then there's nothing else to do lol it's nice for my very short attention span. But watching this video I now remember that I literally have Sakuna of Rice and Ruin and Eastward (both from your recommendations!) and I have yet to touch either game, I agree they both look really good but I also need to be bullied into picking up literally anything else !! Some other games I need to pick up again are Coffee Talk and Hollow Knight! I almost finished both and then dropped them for noo reason at all
A new game just game out on Steam a few days ago, it’s Stardew Valley combined with Animal Crossing and it’s the cutest game ever! It’s called Dinkum, it’s an Australian life sim where you can farm, fish, harvest, mine, raise animals and pets, customize your town and get to your the citizens. I really recommend it if you love games like Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley! Already played for 15+ hours 👀
Stardew Valley is my current fixation, but Sun Haven looks like a unique game I could love, too! The footage I've seen reminds me of elements of Final Fantasy X, and the tv show Avatar: The Last Airbender, plus haunted levels of pixel games. Would love to explore the world and story.
You almost never fight in Arceus, you simple catch them to study and befriend them. The big battles, you throw soothing potion ar them to like « uncurse » them. If you want, when an encounter occur and a battle start, you can just leave in this one. I liked it way better than the other pokemon for this reason. It felt so more peaceful. 💕
Sun Haven was the first game that got me addicted to a similar degree as Stardew. It's still early access and definitely not as robust of a farming experience as Stardew but it is so fun and sweet. I really really recommend it!
I'm getting near the end of Eastward, it's so good. The discord club was such a good idea, I can't wait to chat with everyone at the end of the month about it. And you've reminded me to pick up Spiritfarer and Garden Story again, I was so far into both of those 😂
I was so sucked into Garden Story and played until I beat it. They even released new hats since I've beaten it so I went back in to buy them for Concord 😌 Kitaria Fables was amazing but I got so stuck about halfway through because of tricky combat and haven't touched it in about 9 months 😭
Let me see. Gris, i love that game, but it got a little bit harder, and i want to play it, but also i just end up with "easier game". Hoa, Journey of the broken Circle, started this one and then just never finish it, but i love the story in it. The longing, Figment, When the pas was around, florence. I always keep coming back to Animal crossing, or spiritfarer, or littlewood, those are my to go game, and i know it because they are easy for me to understand, and simple. And the last ones is night in the woods and Ori and the will of the wisps. The list is long, and there is only one me 😩
I purchased Animal Crossing but only started it a little bit and never reached out for it. My go-to is Cozy Grove and i just cannot find myself commit to more related games. It would take forever and I just get bored easily so I do not want to find myself in a situation where I feel forced to play the game(s). I used to have only 1 game and that’s Pokemon Shield. Now got a few more. As much as interestingly cute and fun Animal Crossing seems, I have priorities towards Pokemon and Cozy Grove 😅
I've wanted kynseed since I heard about it but I don't have a PC. I have all of the first few games and several of the later ones in my backlog too. I love eastward and wytchwood so far but I'm currently addicted to dragon caffi.
Here's another game for your backlog: Littlewood. It seems to be pretty obscure since I don't hear it get talked about a lot, but it's a lovely little game.
Please please play Sakuna Rice of Ruin. It is a really enjoyable game. The balance of rice farming and foraging/combat makes it a really unique game. I just recently finished the campaign, and I’d have to rate it one of my favourite games to play on the switch. Also I’m playing wytchwood atm, which is also very addictive and enjoyable to play. I also have Kitaria fables and slime rancher in my back log 😂
Maaaan I just know my backlog side eyeing me every time I pick up my switch. I bought Link’s Awakening and Little Misfortune to play and every time I pick up my switch I play Spiritfarer😩😩😩 And it’s not like the games not over lmao I just don’t have the interest to play anything else.
You need to check out Wylde Flowers when it is out on switch! Its currently only on apple Arcade but it is so great, has a stardew valley theme with witchcraft in it too! The characters are all so great too, and all so diverse with race, gender identity and sexuality!!!
I have a laptop without a lot of power/grunt. Stardew valley plays well but minecraft is very laggy. Do you know if any of the Steam/PC games you mentioned need a big strong computer? (I hope you know what I mean by big strong powerful beefy computer, I don't know the word: RAM or something haha idk)
Steam is where you can purchase and download games. I use it for my PC games. What’s nice is that you have a save of your game on Steam, so if you got a different PC your game library awaits you to download. There’s no cost to a Steam account, but you buy games from all game developers.
Have you already played Doraemon Story of Seasons? I first skipped that one, because I thought I didn’t like the cartoony characters. But now I tried it and it’s so beautiful and more relaxed. I love this version (and a next one is coming out this year).
@@dutchkirann8953 not yet! I am just about to buy my first switch . And after watching some of your videos I am making a list of games that I want to try. Thanks so much for the game ideas!! Watching your videos make me decide to get a switch!

Also, Wytchwood was so so good, but very repetitive. The stories were great but I felt like I was just doing the same stuff over and over. But again, the STORIES were beautiful. Proud of you for plugging your socialssssss 🤎
I think that not having enough time isn't the biggest issue. It's having more brainspace/energy to try new things. At least thats how it works for me.
Exactlyyyy, so true!
Yesss . I feel like I need to mentally prepare to start a new game lol

Recent new watcher. I've saved/started so many games I love cause of your vids. Thanks! ♥️
Aww yayy!🥰
So many of these games are on my wishlist! Once I have unlimited money I will buy all the games

My biggest issue with pokemon is the animal fighting. I can't get past the "dog fighting" mentality. So snap interests me lol
I relate to that a lot lolol. Snap also should have been in this list honestly!!
