Oh, he wasn't happy with how Optimus Primal became, well a "cult leader" in his words. Can't say I blame him; Beast Machines has some good ideas but damn was it a product of the eco crazed mid 90s-early 2000s.
As horrible as the show got after the first season (I think the first season was actually alright), this finale was pretty darn solid. Not what I'd like for the end of the G1 universe, but it at least had gravitas.

The core of Cybertron is formed from consciousness of the God Primus, the Bringer of Light, who was neither organic nor machine. Cybertron and the Cybertronians were formed because there was no organic material on the planetoid they were encased in when they sacrificed their own freedom to entrap Unicron the Chaos Bringer in a similar prison. There is some conflict with this backstory in the G1 season 3 when it says Primacron created Unicron, but Primus and Unicron being Gods is the eventually settled on origin. The G1 continuity is a huge whopping mess though and you'd be hard-pressed to piece everything together.
There was supposed to be a 3rd entry in this series but beast machines did so bad they scrapped it. I think the new forms were called transtech idk but cheators new body didn't look half bad

It's more accurate, perhaps, to say "G1 continuities." Primus and Unicron being gods is only settled on in particular origins, since sometimes Unicron is "just" a super-weapon. The seeds of the future lie buried in the past. Optimus was told that by the oracle right from the beginning but never fully understood it until right than when he realized he needs to go down with Megatron in order to create the new Cybertron.

It runs on instinct not discipline, which is what a warrior strives to be: disciplined, understanding, loyal, and sacrificing themselves for the betterment of everyone. The Oracle said it; do not fight like an instinctual animal, but unleash or let go of it to be the warrior Cybertron needs. That's honestly a personal favorite quote of mine. It means so much to me
Looking at Optimal Megatron, he really highlights that Mainframe had improved their visual quality quite dramatically between the end of BW and BM. I much prefer BW's models but I can't deny that BM looks way better than its predecessor from a pure quality perspective

there's an explanation for this actually. because Megatron grew in size his mass would hamper his bodies own flying capabilities, him absorbing the sparks was his own literal downfall
To the people complaining about the Techno-Organic Cybertron, the _Universe_ and _Timelines_ comics explain that eventually the planet's cities were in the process of being rebuilt, so the planet would eventually look the way it used to. However now it had new features, such as not being completely dependent on Energon, anti-Transformer scanners and weapons made by other races no longer working due to the population not being 100% mechanical, etc. Also, whether you had a beast or vehicle mode was up to preference at that point.
I was kinda thinking the same thing before I learned that's what actually happened in canon. Like cybertron had obviously been reset to its primal stage, now augmented by organic upgrades, but would eventually go back to being mechanical as people rebuilt their homes and redeveloped science and technology. Eventually vehicle modes and all the other fancy tech stuff before the reformation would return, but now they'd be balanced out by the organic side of life as the Oracle intended. Edited for typos.

I always loved Beast Machines as much as Beast Wars. Imagine you and your friends FINALLY returning from years of War, watching friends die and sacrifice themselves, only to return home and find out everyone you ever cared about is dead or turned into a horde of zombie drones controlled by the very enemy you thought you had finally defeated. It's a war not just against hordes of new enemies but for the soul and future of your whole planet! That's why I love this show!
He was actually trying to get a body like primal did from the orignal megatron spark. The evolution of his body was effected by quickstrike dumping him into a lava pit. It could of also came from the fact that they lost the beast wars because the proto human.

Then, one day, he finds the balance between organic and technological the superior form of things and forces that ideology on everyone else. Megatron was like the Sith, easy pursuit of power. Selfish reasoning. Ultimately, self-serving with his goals. Optimus was like the Jedi. Power needed to be worked for and a balance between all things. Selfless to a fault and a sense of absolute righteousness with no thought to the hesitation or doubt from others. The bad thing about both of those ideologies is that they are both self-centered with little thought to abstract morality based on circumstance. Sure, Optimus says he's acting on the good of everyone else, but only his view of what is good for them and not letting the individual choose for themselves.

This is actually much more simple than you think. 1.Optimus did realized he was fanatic at the end of season 1,and fixed himself. 2.The mission given to him by Oracle. And Oracle is basically willl of Primus. Aka the planet they are in. So he does have every right to do that. 3.The cybertronians were already greatly suffering from lack of energon. This is why they evolved into smaller robots. This new thecno-Organic bodies is basically "You dont have to pay the energon bill anymore" with extra steps. 4.Megatron already ripped everyones body,and turned them into vhecons. 5.Planet eventually will look exactly the G1 ver when their cities became active again.
The last scene, it may seem Megatron forgot he can fly, which is demonstrated earlier in the episode. HOWEVER, upon absorbing about 99.9% of Cybertron's sparks, we seem him grow by about double/triple. As we are not 2-dimensional beings, a growth like that has drastic effects in weight. In other words, Megatron gained godly power in exchange for the ability to fly (too heavy for thrusters now)
Godlike power yes. Insight, no. He overlooked the fact that Primal was restoring the balance between the organic and technological the entire time. Megatron was so caught up in turning Cybertron into a purely technological world that he missed that.
The way I see it, Megatron didn't just keep Optimus alive so he could gloat and have him witness his total, final defeat. The may reason was that Primal "was not coming". Megatron was going give everyone a chance to serve him in his utopia. But not Primal. he was going to leave Optimus out of his great reformatting.
Megatron's oddly human eyes from 4:29 onwards always freaked me out. Gives me an anime vibe, now that i think of it... Like Mr Perfect Cell specifically.
I liked how they brought back Optimus’ old body, I didn’t like the techno organic designs, Nightscream was kinda cool, but most of the previous designs were better
Nah, ME3 ending is a rip off of how the original Deus Ex ending. Which was three different endings, you either destory the internet, give it to the illuminati, or merge with it.
This show was alright. It's got merits like the decent CGI for the time, the voice acting was pretty good and this final battle was pretty good. Had it not get a bit heavy-handed with the environmental message (cuz that's what Transformers needs, to be environmentally friendly) and had the designs for the Maximals been less ugly, then I'd consider this a good follow-up from Beast Wars. As is though, it doesn't hold a candle to that show. Though at the least, I'd argue this is slightly better a follow-up than R.I.D (2015) was to Prime.
to b e fair, the tone down the environment part in season 2 (hence the whole allspark calling primal out for his less than savory actions in season 1).
It was horrible. It was so disappointing to have them lose all the cool trans-metal stuff, for clearly weaker forms And THEN right when some of us may have at least started to forget that travesty, they end the god damn show by reminding us with them all getting beat down by optimus's own body...WTF! The show is masochistic, cuck, garbage.
Could you imagine what would happen if Primal missed that shot leading to Megatron winning? Imagine in another universe where Megatron won and became the core conscience of Cybertron.
I will never understand why Beast Machines was hated so much by Transformer fans. I thought it was a pretty good sequel to Beast Wars. Sure, Beast Machines had its positives and its negatives, but it was pretty good! The Maximals vs the Vehicons was an awesome war!
Optimus and Megatron pretty much swap personalities between beast wars and machines. Other than that, the artistic difference between the shows takes some getting used to.
Geminias when did they ever switch personalities. Megatron goal in beast wars was the same in beast machines. He got g1 spark to try and get a simuliar body as primal. It failed and still had mostly organic form. Optimus primal was always very nature like. Look up the where the plant attacks dinobot with a seed.
As in the way they wrote the characters in general... Optimus regularly crossed lines he'd never have crossed in the BW. And Megatron had values/ideals he sought to maintain at the expense of everything else.
Say what you want about _Beast Machines._ But this was the scene that really just told the audience that you have to let go of both Optimus and Megatron to truly see peace on Cybertron. They may not be the originals. But these two showed us that there could be an end to the fighting. An end to the struggle. An end to the war. _Beast Machines_ had its issues. But it showed us a bright future. By letting go of the past, we see a brighter future. Yes, doing so hurts. Doing so may require us to do things that we don't like. We may even make mistakes along the way. But to keep the future bright, it's something we have to do.
D..D..Did he just forget he could fly? I never really understood this version of megatron... in the beast wars, Megatron seemed to enjoy his beast mode.
I know beast machines gets criticism for it over arching plots and it's darker nature of it. But when the second season of the show came out it actually got better though. The battle between primal and megatron(well optimal megatron),was a great fight to the show itself. Beast machines is considered to be the end of the g1 era in its entirety to. I like this show I always have despite all the criticism it has always gotten. Some fans like and some don't. Will agree though on the toyline to the show wasn't exactly that great though.
I only saw a few episodes of this show as a kid, but LOVED beast wars. I did a watch through recently of Beast Machines, and when this scene happened I literally screamed OH SHIT at my monitor in shock haha Beast Machines wasn’t perfect but had a lot of great moments.
Beast Machines planted the seeds of the future for Transformers Prime's ending. Optimus journeying to Cybertron's core to restore it to its former state and allow the sparks of many Cybertronians to be reborn and live again, both Optimus' final words being about a great transformation taking place
It would've been cool if he changed colour upon absorbing all the Sparks. What to? Not sure but it'd be those of a previous form. Original purple, Transmetal bronze, dragon red or Grand Mal blue.
The deaths of primal and Megatron reminds me of optimus prime's death in transformers prime and the death of black shadow and captain falcon in f zero gp legend
If I had to complain, Beast "Wars" was made annoying by Cheetor's NON-STOP yells and cries. In Beast "Machines", it was everyone making slow "shocked" face movements constantly as time fillers.
Funny how Megatron could've won if he seperated the oracle from Optimus Primal and then kill him before drilling the hole Cybertron's core . Then he can't be interrupted while using the Key of Vector Sigma to achieve his ultimate goal , but the dude miscalculated his plan and fucked up .
THIS IS ALSO THE REASON WHY SOME FANS GAVE UP ON CYBERTRONIANS. They're not worth THE FLESH they're PRINTED ON. All They Had To Do Was Hand Over The Keys, And They Could Have Been On With Their Trivial LIves.....
Bro,comics explained that Cybertron basically turned to its old look after cities developed. İts just without energon dependancy. And every cybertronian can choose a robot or beast form. Reformat basically fixed all the "bugs" in the system.
You know if this descendant of Megatron succeeded he would turn Cybertron into a new unicorn with him as the brain and I don't care what people think about this series it's pretty cool having an interesting secret of Cybertron being organic before Primus merged with it or as in the original G1 series it's just a type of factory built by the quintessons which I'm certain it was used to be an organic Planet before something made the plant become a Barren Wasteland with fossilized animals hidden deep inside it
I get the gist of it, but this series was really confusing and convoluted. The whole premise of technology vs organic would have made more sense in Beast Wars (but I'm glad they didn't use it there, Beast Wars was awesome, so that concept would drag it down). To top it off this show was just so horribly presented to it's audience, it felt like the cgi quality got worse since Beast Wars. I guess it doesn't help that character designs for the Maximals were awful and the environment of Cybertron just wasn't that interesting (prehistoric Earth wasn't interesting to look at either, but most of the budget went to making the characters look good and the superb writing).
The only good thing about Beast Machines was the voice acting. I was truly let down by it. It didnt help Hasbro not allowing the new writers to watch Beast Wars hampered it so much. It could have been so much better than what this was. It just didn't work as well as it could.

@I-io8eebe fair. All of their beast modes can fit perfectly with Transmetal I era(accept Silverbolt). And Cheetor looks very nice in his robot form.

Makes you wonder where Megatron acquired his Scar between BW and BM, plus his sudden hatred for the Organic.
Falling through the transwarp tunnel and falling through cybertrons atmosphere before crashing. I'm guessing he got a lot of damage.

The way I see it, Megatron didn't just keep Optimus alive so he could gloat and have him witness his total, final defeat. The may reason was that Primal "was not coming". Megatron was going give everyone a chance to serve him in his utopia. But not Primal. he was going to leave Optimus out of his great reformatting.
Megatron's oddly human eyes from 4:29 onwards always freaked me out.

This show was alright. It's got merits like the decent CGI for the time, the voice acting was pretty good and this final battle was pretty good. Had it not get a bit heavy-handed with the environmental message (cuz that's what Transformers needs, to be environmentally friendly) and had the designs for the Maximals been less ugly, then I'd consider this a good follow-up from Beast Wars. As is though, it doesn't hold a candle to that show.
Though at the least, I'd argue this is slightly better a follow-up than R.I.D (2015) was to Prime.
Yeah I thought it was a decent show, flawed but I was still entertained from start to finish

to b e fair, the tone down the environment part in season 2 (hence the whole allspark calling primal out for his less than savory actions in season 1).
It was horrible. It was so disappointing to have them lose all the cool trans-metal stuff, for clearly weaker forms
And THEN right when some of us may have at least started to forget that travesty, they end the god damn show by reminding us with them all getting beat down by optimus's own body...WTF!

I will never understand why Beast Machines was hated so much by Transformer fans. I thought it was a pretty good sequel to Beast Wars. Sure, Beast Machines had its positives and its negatives, but it was pretty good! The Maximals vs the Vehicons was an awesome war!

The different personality changes, major tone shifts, maximal designs, and Cybertron's outcome are what many did not like about this series.
Optimus and Megatron pretty much swap personalities between beast wars and machines. Other than that, the artistic difference between the shows takes some getting used to.
Geminias when did they ever switch personalities. Megatron goal in beast wars was the same in beast machines. He got g1 spark to try and get a simuliar body as primal. It failed and still had mostly organic form. Optimus primal was always very nature like. Look up the where the plant attacks dinobot with a seed.
As in the way they wrote the characters in general... Optimus regularly crossed lines he'd never have crossed in the BW. And Megatron had values/ideals he sought to maintain at the expense of everything else.
Say what you want about _Beast Machines._ But this was the scene that really just told the audience that you have to let go of both Optimus and Megatron to truly see peace on Cybertron. They may not be the originals. But these two showed us that there could be an end to the fighting. An end to the struggle. An end to the war.
_Beast Machines_ had its issues. But it showed us a bright future. By letting go of the past, we see a brighter future. Yes, doing so hurts. Doing so may require us to do things that we don't like. We may even make mistakes along the way. But to keep the future bright, it's something we have to do.

I know beast machines gets criticism for it over arching plots and it's darker nature of it.
But when the second season of the show came out it actually got better though.
The battle between primal and megatron(well optimal megatron),was a great fight to the show itself.
Beast machines is considered to be the end of the g1 era in its entirety to.
I like this show I always have despite all the criticism it has always gotten.
Some fans like and some don't.
Will agree though on the toyline to the show wasn't exactly that great though.

I only saw a few episodes of this show as a kid, but LOVED beast wars. I did a watch through recently of Beast Machines, and when this scene happened I literally screamed OH SHIT at my monitor in shock haha Beast Machines wasn’t perfect but had a lot of great moments.

If I had to complain, Beast "Wars" was made annoying by Cheetor's NON-STOP yells and cries. In Beast "Machines", it was everyone making slow "shocked" face movements constantly as time fillers.

Bro,comics explained that Cybertron basically turned to its old look after cities developed. İts just without energon dependancy. And every cybertronian can choose a robot or beast form. Reformat basically fixed all the "bugs" in the system.

I get the gist of it, but this series was really confusing and convoluted. The whole premise of technology vs organic would have made more sense in Beast Wars (but I'm glad they didn't use it there, Beast Wars was awesome, so that concept would drag it down). To top it off this show was just so horribly presented to it's audience, it felt like the cgi quality got worse since Beast Wars. I guess it doesn't help that character designs for the Maximals were awful and the environment of Cybertron just wasn't that interesting (prehistoric Earth wasn't interesting to look at either, but most of the budget went to making the characters look good and the superb writing).
BM had a lower production budget then BW, so that explains ot
