Years ago I did a hiking trip to the Alps and didn’t want to be lugging the dslr around. Considered the LX7 but ended up getting a Canon Powershot S100. Slightly smaller and less $$. For the most part I was happy with pictures as long as there was decent light. Phone cameras have hurt the market for these 1/1.7” sensor cameras but they are still fun to shoot with.
"if you're not expecting professional quality..."??? I use this camera for taking photos for the monthly downtown Portland newspaper that I design. At an indoor event last Saturday, I took photos without flash, that ran circles around a guy who was shooting photos with a massive Nikon DSLR. The newspaper editor editor said my photos were excellent, far better than the guy with the big Nikon.
wow, amazing you should be pride of your work! i just bought one and I was scared to regret.... Your comment change my mind and I hope I will be abble to masterize it as you did...
Hello , amazing video ! 📸 I am mobile photographer but this camera look so cool and i find one for 20 dollars . Is it good for Macro “flower” phorography ? 🤔 Thank you.
A camera like this I use in Shutter priority primarily. Sensor is small so shooting wide open indoors is necessary and when outdoors it meters enough to get the aperture you need so I focus on getting my subjects frozen. Outdoors ISO at 400, Indoors ISO up to 1600.
I have so much G.A.S.! Lol. I'm always on a search but my plan is to niche down and share videos of photos using certain settings. The battery life seems good. I have the evo setting and sleep mode setup the way I like to preserve battery while also being useful when out shooting.
This was a good camera for its day. It was small enough and shot RAW. In 2013, that was a life-saver.
I'd choose this over a phone any day
Thanks for the great video. You know your stuff. Picking up an lx7 tomorrow. Cant wait.
Hope you enjoy it! I also picked up a Samsung EX2F which is very similar yet different. Stay tuned for that video.

I agree. Phones can do the job but cameras are just so much more fun. I like buttons like a todddler. Lol
That looks like a pretty cool camera. I hope you enjoy it 👍🏾
I'm enjoying it so far. This may be my black & white camera.
Thanks for the review - very useful!
Glad I could help
Picked up a new boxed set for 120+ USD, yeah this is a fun little camera to play around with.
That's a steal! Enjoy.

🤣🤣🤣This is G.A.S. all over again. Good to see you Jason, enjoy your new toy (how good is the battery life?).

Looks like a budget version of LX100
Yes it does. I think when they developed the LX100 they used this camera as the model.
