Taking the kids to the river while Bri rested was the best decision. Sometimes ya gotta push everything to the side and have some fun time with the kids.
That wasn’t a “wrong” day- it was a pretty typical day for most families. I think it’s called life. Makes the sweet days even sweeter! Precious family.
It's one of those selfless sacrifices that mommies and daddies have to make every day to ensure their kids receive the kind of upbringing they deserve. Think of it this way. You'll get to your project eventually, and they'll get to go swimming today. You get two winning memories. Choose your project over them and you get just one guilty memory.

Poor Bri, carrying twins is zapping her energy. My sister had twins and from the 5th month on she was too tired to do anything. It really drains a women's energy growing 2 babies at once. I'm so glad you are so good to help, Art!❤
A friend of mine had twins, she worked up to 2 weeksbefore- dropping her oldest in here for me to tend Everybody is different - Bri will come around and feel much better ... Bri, pace yourself dear. From watching the last few videos, you’re right at it then you get wiped out- do only a little everyday, make your rest/nap time same time daily, that’s what my friend did. But- like I said everyone is different I’m in hopes her routine will help you too.
Thank you for taking the kids swimming today Art. They have been such a big help to you on your project as well as the garden. There are many kids out there that wouldn't dream of spending all that time digging and plantings hundreds of potatoes, And even though they didn't really want to, they persevered and did it anyway. You rewarded them with a swim at the river and they had such a good time. What could possibly be better than that. Have a Blessed day.
You may not have got everything done but you got the potatoes planted. Keeping a promise with your kids is much more important than getting everything done. You are both such good parents. If everyone raised their children like you do this would be a much better world.

The swimming in the swimming hole reminded me of the best years of my life, I love you chosen to keep your promise to the kids. Memories like that the kids will remember for the rest of their lives. Thank you Art . I am going to take my grandkids for a swimming day, we have 3 grandkids that we are bringing up and they are 2yrs, 3 and a half and 6. They had a wonderful time and so did we, praying for our Son and his kids. Our Son has full custody of the children and he does the best he can and we help him when we can memories like these are the best ever, thank you so much for remembering, and remind us what a few hours are the best time of there lives

We are in a similar situation. It feels like we have soo many great projects we want to do and things we HAVE to do first, add in a back injury. It gets frustrating BUT I have to remind myself it’s ALLLLL for the greater good. AND how awesome is it that we (us and y’all) have so many good projects on the horizon? You handled it great...get a bit frustrated but then take a bit to talk it out and then go enjoy those babies of yours...making memories beats making more work 😉

It’s tough deciding to do adult things that need to get done and doing what our kids want, kids grow up so fast so it’s usually better to spend time with the kids like you did.
Keeping your word to your children is important. Having raised 4 sons, it is amazing to me what made an impression on them. Little things that I thought were nothing, they still remember! What I had to keep reminding myself was that the work would still be there, the kids would not. Being on the other side, the twins are now 50, it is so nice to have them want to call and check on me since their daddy passed. Cultivating a strong relationship with my sons was very important to me. I am glad I did.

I adore your family and this community. I'm a bit of a nomad. I've ever been in one home 10yrs. Much less a state or country for that matter. If I didn't love my life right now, I'd be living similar to how y'all do. I did on small scale in Iowa. Loved it. Live life to the fullest!
Every one gets hungry because they wotk so hard! Thats a lot of calories and you need to keep up your strength - there's nothing unusual there. Just remember to keep snacks handy (like the boiled eggs). All basic stuff you can forget when hangry, I get that really bad too being diabetic, and lucky I'm surrounded by very understanding and supportive people.
