I am a 1689 Reformed Protestant who is as conservative as it gets, and have actually met him, but I cannot stress enough to avoid this man (and when I say that avoid I mean his teachings/videos) until/unless he repents. Very disturbing, unbiblical ideas. Honestly one of the things that bothered me the most was the “black doctors” comment. The Canadian pastor Jacob Reaume made a very good point; that Webbon will claim certainty over things such as the Nephilim, Greek gods, or conspiracy theories, but pretend that he doesn’t know for sure about the you-know-what committed by Germany during World War II. I so agree with your synopsis of this man. "Haughtiness" seems a good word to describe him. It seems he believes his opinions are so profoundly correct that he has to repeat them at least five different ways. I can't listen to him; nor does there seem to be any Biblical foundation for his Christian Nationalism philosophy. All that said, he does need prayers just like the rest of us.

He had two podcasts featuring an ex Orthodox priest and hardly gave the guy an opportunity to speak...just dominating the conversation...giving his own opinion...the poor man had to sit and listen to this guy pontificating.
Women prophesied in church in the first century-that’s where the issue of head coverings arose if I am not mistaken. That would have been public ministry, wouldn’t it?
Ive waited yrs for ppl to notice. He does impact real ppl. Some r upset for political reasons, but very few know what joel actually believes if u listen long enough its easy to see he adds to scripture. No one cares he adds works or calls for violence until its what they care to hear.
I stopped listening to Joel when he mentioned that he doesnt allow his wife to read books unless he approves of them first. If my husband didnt allow me to read books he disagrees with then i would not be allowed to read the Bible.
He didn’t say he doesn’t let her read any book he doesn’t agree with, although, as a Christian you certainly should shield your wife from potential dangers, he didn’t want his wife reading books in particular about peadobaptism. Not because he’s so scared that she’ll become a heretic or something, it’s because they’re going to read books like that together so that division isn’t sewn in their family. Imagine if you had a godly husband like that what your life would be like. A god-fearing man who said, “you go ahead and read scripture all day baby, but when it comes to specific doctrines, let me know so we can go through them together and make decisions as a family.”

Paedo-baptism was something I read about and studied a lot before converting. My husband, although he is agnostic, thinks paedo-baptism is weird and not in scripture. I just couldn't imagine (if my husband ever comes back to the faith) my husband telling me that he doesn't want me reading Luthers small Chatechism, the book of Concord, etc. These things are a part of my daily devotional life. Obviously I'm in a situation where I'm unequally yoked. Not quite the same as a couple who are both in the faith. I think my overall point is just that his wife doesn't quite seem to be allowed to explore theological differences freely. I am very glad and thankful to God that my husband allowed me to not only explore Christianity, but then also different traditions and theological views.

I want to add, another woman public figure I have more of a red flag about is phylicia masonheimer. Because her content is specifically teaching theology. And while she isnt claiming to pastor a church... I still question if its the right position for her or any woman in a large public way. And again, I would never encourgae my daughters that direction. She also has influenced many towards the lord and you can easily see truly has a heart for God. I dont align with some of her theologocal beliefs. But she does do an excellet job of teaching and is creative and disciplined. one thing I didnt appreciate was the role reversal that happens while we watch her on IG doing all this public theology teaching work while her husband cooks dinners and gradually takes over more and more of the household tasks so she can spend more time doing her work. Again, im not in their actual life. Im not god. Maybe inside their life its actually ordered really well. But phylicia masonhiemer I stopped listening to a while ago because I didnt agree with her image if you will as a theological teacher on the internet. But I still respect her. But I still listen to ABS and CO. Not sure what eould happen if they started doing a strictly theological teaching podcast though.

I don't even know how to comment about Allie Beth stuckey... But I'm going to try... I enjoy her podcast and admire her as a woman. And I know she has influenced many Christian women etc. I personally though don't think women should be so much in the political public sphere and I'm always weary of women who are doing a lot of public teaching/speaking etc. But I'm not God or Allie Beths husband. I also have the same opinion about Candace Owens. But I also love to listen to Candace Owens podcast to and have much respect for the both of them. I just watched Candace interview her husband and Candace is so feminine and soft around her husband and now her husband manages her podcast. So God put her husband above her in her podcast work anyhow. Allie also works with her husband I think. All this being said. My first opinion is I don't think women should be doing huge political public podcasts and I wouldnt encourage this in my own daughters. This being said. It's just my opinion. Biblically, I think what I could stand on is, is the woman's husband supportive of the woman being a public figure? Is the public figure work taking away from her duties as mother and wife? Is it making her into a feminist girl boss? If yes, then the woman probably should just be at home. Of course neither Allie or Candace are claiming to be pastors or be teaching anyone theology. So I guess what I'm saying is. I walk the line where I listen to these women. I think their content is great. But I would not encourage my own daughters towards such a direction for many reasons. I think there are biblical arguments to be made but they have more to do with the womans headship being maintained as being with her husband instead of herself or another boss, and her husband being totally supportive and in approval of her doing the work. (Such that she isn't doing it against his wishes). And that she is also able to manage her household in whatever capacity we can say she is biblically bound to, and in how her husband might see that being lived out. These are important considerations when women are in the public sphere: Does the woman's church elders approve of her public figure work etc alongside of her husband? (Rosario Butterfield is a good example of this who has cited that her session (elders) forbade her from doing any more collabs with gospel coalition as the reason why she stopped doing interviews or collabs eith them . She said her session told her not to do them anymore becusee they didnt like the direction of where GC was going and moreso they wanted to protect her from whatever stress etc might come from those. She has also cited that she goes to her session for advice and clarity before she begins to write a book that would be released publically, the session reads her manuscript and oks kt etc... so she does this with not just her husband who is the head pastor of the church but with the body of church elders whom are shepherding her and in authority over her as well ) For most women, they wouldn't be able to resist the temptations and they don't have the discipline to do all of that well without the house suffering. Women are generally more sensitive and susceptible to the things that come with public person hood such as getting lost in the chaos of the peanut gallery and everyone else's opinions of you and backlash , or pride or getting too wrapped up in ones image etc. All this being said, back to Joel webbon... I think all pastors should be scrutinized by their peers especially if they are publicly doing podcasts. Does Joel have any elders to whom he is accountable? I know in our church our pastors have two or three levels of oversight above them just from our denominations structure. And this includes heavy scrutinization and questioning of their character, lives, theological beliefs etc. So thank you for adding to the necessary criticism and sharpening. may Joel webbon hear and understand.
