Doing family research my grandfather was born in paisley and moved over here to Australia with his father after his mother died. It's so beautiful makes me proud to know where my family is from.
I've been researching my ancestry and just found out my 6th great grandfather was born in Renfrewshire, and came to the US from there when he was 19. I'd love to see it in person one day.
I love Paisley Abbey. Indeed the whole of the town centre (of Scotland's biggest ''town'' - still not officially a city) has seen such a transformation in recent times - really beautiful. On 4th April 2006 I laid flowers on the tomb of Robert III (600th anniversary of his death) and on 2nd March 2016 did likewise on supposed tomb of Princess Marjorie (Bruce) on 700th anniversary of hers (she died in her teens giving birth to the future Robert II, first of the Stewart dynasty, by Caesarian section, within the Abbey - literally the 'Cradle of the Stewart dynasty'). Sadly, and surprisingly, on neither date did anyone working at the Abbey seem to know of the occasion.
Thanks for commenting and for your knowledge. I really liked Paisley, it reminded me in some respects of Hull. Some beautiful architecture and interesting historic sites, but also very evident social problems. I’d definitely visit again though and would explore in more depth as well as further afield.
I'll live at Paisley in few month, I'm so happy to coming here starting a new life ! I've already my flat near maxwelton Park, I love Scotland and his people Best regard :)
Gerry Rafferty,Tom Conti, Paulo Nutini,Alex Neil,Fulton Mckay, too name a few if Paisley's Contribution to ,Film ,Music,Politics ,and Arts..."Oor Wee Toon"...and the World Famous Export Paisley Pattern 👍☝️☝️🙏💙💙
Scottish building have a grimness which few parts of the world can match.... In direct opposition to the ambience of the city, Paisley people have a warmth and generosity of spirit which in no way reflects the environment in which they have to live. My family are all from Hawkhead, Johnson and Bridge of Weir. Someone in local goverment really needs to initiate a program of sand-blasting or whitewashing to put some colour or cheer back in these streets.
The modern "Art" works are more of an affront to the eye than the dead bird it least that will be disappear The cold concrete "seats" ,other moss gathering trip hazards and glass window spray paint things will be there for years.

Doing research also and traced an ancestor back to there . Born 1832 named Jane White
Nice to see someone else highlighting Paisley. The town has more to offer than people realise.
Thanks, yes i thought it was a very lovely looking place.
Moss Travel Media I’d recommend a visit to the Sma’ Shot Cottages, which is down on Shuttle Street. It’s just off New Street.
A Scottish Odyssey I’ll keep that in mind for the next time that I’m up there.
It only offers handouts to scumbags.
It's a great place hen😂
Nice shots and film production, best regards :)
Thank you :)
