So Donny Cates said Thor would be the most powerful herald Galactus ever had.
So he's stronger than Silver Surfer, Firelord, the Fallen One, and even Cosmic Ghost Rider.
Thor can now stop Mjolnir in mid air, saying his powers have grown. Thus, implying he has the odinforce/thorforce. So Thor has the power cosmic+the odinforce?
And Loki got roasted by Thor three times? A+ comic for me!

Maaaan, after many years, finally a Thor story put a smile on my face. Even before Thor turning Galactus's Herald, I didn't see him frail, and poor god as Jason was writting him, I saw Thor powerful, imposing as a true god, with a divine presence. It's like Aaron has never been Thor runner before that. I can't wait to see the sequel of this badass story. Donny Cates, you barely started, but you rock already!! 👍

If he had the odin force, I'd agree as it would make no different to have the power of a herald with his, I don't see even how he could have it forced on him if he didn't want. But the only alfather power he seem to have atm is the authority one, so sure, he has beaten pretty much every other herald besides ghost rider herald (arguably), but they have all made him go all out or at least close enough to that, so on his normal level it is at least close enough to just double if the interaction is just to add power, so I'd say it is rather noticeable.

Hi Thor Talk, I'm an Italian fan of Thor. Unfortunately this new Donny Cates' run of Thor will arrive in Italy in the next 2 or 3 months, at least. My wish is to see again a true Thor, badass and extremely powerful, because I'm tired to see my favourite superhero treated like a punching bag. Fortunately Jason Aaron's era is over and I hope that Donny Cates will bring back justice to the god of thunder. Is Donny Cates turning my wish in reality?

Hello there. First off I want to say you’re doing well with
this channel which I discovered by pure random but I’m glad. As someone who’s been interested in going back to Thor comics you’ve been a big guide and help to understanding this comic world which admittedly was bigger and crazier than I realised. Once you hear a lot of the things you’ve described Thor doing in comics it kind of puts in perspective his portrayal in the films and other media and how we have to depower him and add these other things in an attempt to make him feel “realistic” and relatable and as a result he kind of ends up in the same argument as Superman and other really powerful characters except people bring it up more with Superman that he’s too powerful and not relatable as a result but I imagine Thor has been perceived similarly but the thing is you can write Superman to be relatable and Thor as well along with these other powerful heroes. You’ve shown that through what you’ve talked about and these stories are written by people who know that as well.
I haven’t seen every video yet mind you but watched enough but I do wish the videos were longer. Maybe create long form podcasts discussing a story with another person maybe a video on what you would do with Thor maybe a commentary on the films or a video on Thor’s animation history like the video game one you did. I also wouldn’t mind seeing more videos on Thor characters like that one about Odin. Videos on Sif, the Warriors Three, Balder etc. could shed light and again highlight what I thought even before I decided I wanted to go back to the material that Sif and the Warriors Three were shafted in the films.
Also with Kevin Feige now backtracking and declaring Wanda Maximoff the strongest Avenger not Captain Marvel I’d be curious to see you compare them (and maybe Thor with other Marvel heroes too down the line) like you did Thor and Captain Marvel. I know you were going on the comic history there but since Wanda’s powers are ever expanding in the films it’s possible you could touch on them there too but maybe do that as a separate video when WandaVision and Doctor Strange 2 are out. I was inclined to believe Feige initially and while comic Thor is different to movie Thor now knowing what Thor can really do from your videos I’d be inclined to wonder if maybe she isn’t. Still a strong Marvel hero and Avenger but stronger than Thor? I don’t know.
I also would like to know despite the power increase in Thor: Ragnarok why did it seem like the Odinforce wasn’t passed to Thor? I assume it’s something that comes from Odin’s bloodline (meaning and I assume Valkyrie can’t wield it despite being declared king because she didn’t inherit it) or something that’s channelled through a weapon like Gungnir. Could it be argued that Thor could have used Stormbreaker to channel the Odinforce?
There’s probably more questions to ask but for another time maybe because this admittedly is a big wall of text for one comment and I apologise for that. I don’t read many modern comics mostly because I hear a lot are bad (and also don't interest me when first hearing about them in the way older material has when I hear about the latter I'm intrigued which is what you want something to do or if you look at something and it's visually striking that also can spark interest) and things I have read and know about aren't that good but also there’s so much older comics and characters I missed out on and don’t know I’m more inclined to go back to the past and experience those since they’ll be new and there’s no shortage of material to go back too with Thor being no exception. If this run still comes recommended by you by the end I may check it out but it’d still be awhile because I want to get too older material.
What would you recommend as the best collected versions to read a run from like an Omnibus, an Epic Collection etc? It’s great finding channels like yours that do pay respect and show their love for this material while educating others who don’t know it that can both allow someone to see something from another way and maybe inspire them to go back to the material. Whether someone ends up liking the film version more or comic version more or maybe likes both equally is up to them but if you only know one version particularly the film it is interesting to see where it came from and I’m look forward to exploring the comic book material when I eventually do. Keep up the good work.

*THOR TALK* *you know all this, but putting it out there so those that are MCU* *fans and never bought a comic book* *in their lives and only know the MCU version of Prince/King Thor, could benefit from you putting the following out there*
*Long Read but very important for those who don't know Thor's history, if you really want to know how Prince Thor/King Thor became so powerful, then please read on*
Right now, this updated issue of the King Thor "Odin Force" comic version brought a great smile and relief to a true Marvel comic book collector who knows almost by heart every feats of Thor from his true lineage, origins and reasons why behind it. Finally the Marvel comic books catches up on their own Thor history. This is the King Thor "Odin Force" now called "Thor Force" that brings forth such relief after the MCU has tried to go out of it's way to water down, diminish and kill the Prince Thor/King Thor character in order to show off their new one trick pony "Captain Marvel". Through out this process, Marvel forgot the fan base core of a true Prince/King Thor and the powers he wields. We true fans know that everything that has happened in the 10 yr young MCU's versions of Thor, be it as either Prince Thor or King Thor "Odin Force", is/was nonsense. We finally get the true and real King Thor we deserve at least in the recent comics. And maybe, just maybe will this teach the young millennial's who have absolutely no knowledge of who Prince Thor/King Thor is/was in the Marvel Universe history, other than what Kevin Feige has told them through his and the MCU's eyes. From his creation which Stan Lee has explained for decades up and until Stan Lee's passing.
If Marvel Universe finally gives us the true powers and abilities that a King Thor "Thor Force" wields, then this is a welcomed story line because it actually speaks truth about how powerful Prince Thor and King Thor "Thor Force" represents. For decades, this question was asked to Stan Lee "who is the most powerful Avenger and Marvel character in the Marvel Universe" and Stan Lee always answered the same without ever missing a beat, that it was Thor, what's more powerful than a God he said period?! First, Prince Thor was created by Stan Lee to have a character that could rival the Hulk in strength which Prince Thor proved more then once. Someone made a video on this with proven facts. Prince Thor and the Hulk tied about 18 times in battle and Prince Thor won 8 battles vs The Hulk's 5 times. The feats or Prince Thor, King Thor "Thor Force", King Thor "Thor Force + Phoenix Force" up to the most powerful version of King Thor which is "Rune King Thor" who's transcendent-ed into a Multiverse Cosmic Entity so powerful that he's now part of the cosmic power balance in all multiverses and only rivaled by a few such Cosmic beings who would never have need to face off against one an other because their existence and the role they play in all multiverses are a necessity in the power cosmic balance.
What it comes down to is, whatever Odin powers he had while King Of Asgard wielding the "Odin Force" which he inherited from his fathers and two brothers, that then became the "Odin Force" combined to his own immense powers as one of 3 Princes of Asgard before his father King Bor "Bor Force" and his brothers life essence, powers and abilities that were all inherited by Odin by birth right, which made him the most powerful King Of Asgard up till then, even more powerful that his grandfather King Buri who was first to wield the life Force Of Asgard, which he used to created Asgard and all it's gods and citizens which was then passed on to his son Prince Bor and combined with the already existing vast powers of Prince Bor who became King Bor by birth right which also gave him his father's powers, essence, Asgard's life force and all added to his already vast powers as Prince of Asgard.
King Bor "Bor Force" had 3 sons, Odin, Vili and Vé, which on their own were the most powerful Princes of Asgard even more powerful than their own Father King Bor was when he himself was the sole Prince of Asgard. Now, the following is extremely important...
When King Bor "Bor Force" died, his extreme powers and life essence were inherited by his 3 sons and so was the "Bor Force" which each son inherited a portion of equally by birth right. When Odin and his brothers faced off against Surtur, both of Odin's brothers perished in the battle. Now the following is what's the most important in the story/history of Odin becoming the most powerful King of Asgard, more powerful than his grandfather King Buri and his father before him King Bor. How did this happen you might ask, it's simple if you read the history that follows. When Odin's brothers perished in battle, Prince Odin inherited his brothers powers as Princes of Asgard, their powers and abilities and most importantly, their share of their father's "Bor Force". So in an instant, Prince Odin became King of Asgard embodied with Asgard's life force by birth right, combined with his grandfather and father's cosmic powers and essences as Sky Fathers part of the cosmic balance. But here's where the extra powers come from. Odin also inherited his brothers life forces, essences, vast powers and abilities as powerful Princes of Asgard combined with their share of the Asgard life Force that they inherited at their father's King Bor's passing. In other words, Prince Odin now King Odin inherited by birth right more powers than all his predecessors before him, which was now called the "Odin Force" and reason why King Odin was the most powerful king ever in Asgard's history.
As for Prince Thor, Odin made a choice in his youth wanting an heir that would surpass and be more powerful than he (Odin) ever was. So he mated with Gaea/Jord who is the eldest earth Goddess because in Odin's own words, he wanted his heir to be more powerful than him so he could protect Asgard and the 9 realms. Prince Thor thanks to his lineage, was the most powerful Prince of Asgard ever, even more powerful than Odin was when him himself was a Prince of Asgard. So, when Odin passed, Prince Thor became King Thor "Odin Force" by birth right and therefore inherited all the powers of his late great grandfather, grandfather, father and all his uncles powers combined with Prince Thor's extreme and almost incalculable already existing powers. All his family were born as cosmic beings. So now we have a King Thor "Thor Force", a "Sky Father" like his fathers before him and the most powerful King Of Asgard to have ever lived thanks to all inherited powers by birth right. And we're not even talking about "Rune King Thor" yet, which is beyond being a Cosmic being, he's become a Cosmic Entity exceeding all who came before him and now part of the Cosmic balance that reaches far and beyond just his Universe. Rune King Thor is now a Cosmic multiverse entity only rivaled by other Multiverse Cosmic level Entities.
Rune King Thor has no enemies because it would be foolish for any other Cosmic Entities to engage in a battle that would be too costly and not worth fighting for, unless such Cosmic Entities were evil and seeking destruction on a cosmic level, then that's a different ball game because there are such beings. But a Rune King Thor would be more than happy to oblige and fight them as Rune King Thor.
*Most every feats done by Thor, were done while he was "Prince Thor"* , *and Thor Talk has shown many of these* , *A few examples...*
Prince Thor has lifted the weight of 20 planets with one arm, in one issue Wonder Man admits he's not on the same strength level as Thor, he also almost killed Gladiator when in Eric Masterson amateurish Thor version before being stopped by his fellow avengers, he has killed Sentry/The Void, he's defeated the Juggernaut with and without Mjolnir, he's destroyed planets with one blow of his hammer, he's walked across the core of a sun, taken direct hits from Celestials wilts cracking the armor of one of their most powerful, he defeated the Hulk more times then the reverse as they tied about 18 times but Thor won 8 times over the Hulk who won 5 times. Thor defeated Galactus, Silver Surfer and Hercules as well. Thor also defeated Hyperion, knocked out the Phoenix Force, fought against Zeus a Sky Father for months to a stalemate and all that while he was just Prince Thor. Now we have a King Thor who should be inheriting the "Odin Force" and becoming a Sky Father like his fathers before him. who should now be King Thor "Thor Force", both in the MCU and Marvel Universe comics. There's many more feats from Prince Thor that I could enumerate but the list would be too long.

Not a bad start at all. I do have nick pick here. Why does Thor look so old while ASGARDIANS like Sif don't? It's like marvel just has to make king Thor look like Odin to give the appearance of aged wisdom or somesuch Not gonna lie, I like the younger blond free wheeling Thor that we see in his new Herald form and in the past. There is no reason to age him up to the point where he looks like Odin...he shouldn't look like this for a few thousands yrs but after war of realms event he looks like a old man..Why? It's just silly In the context of near immoral characters.

I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised by this comic. The Art feels a whole lot better than the stuff we usually saw in Jason's run.
The idea of Thor being a herald of Galactus isn't too bad either, reminds of the what if comic were Thor also became a herald of Galactus. So the idea isn't as foreign as people may think, so in all I think the comic was pretty good. Edit: Forgot a few things, Sif's transition to her new role was also a pleasant surprise, her transition doesn't feel forced nor feels like theres a pointless political agenda behind. Her transition feels natural and it suits her, so i am optimistic about that bit. Thor's transition to finally being the king of Asgard in the 616 timeline for the first time does feel natural and it's written in a way that seems realistic to the Marvel universe. I am sad that my boi Odin is gone for now but I feel like every Thor issue has been leading up to this moment and it is done pretty decent.
