I have the OEM hardtop and I’m on the waitlist for TOR in May. Will be getting the wiper option also. Thanks for the video. I never take off the 2nd row and this is perfect. I’ll be moving my roof rack over also. Nice smooth lines.. now to make sure I sell the OEM!
I always figured that i would eventually upgrade to a hardtop after a few years! This is my aftermarket hardtop of choice. Looks great. Thanks for the excellent review!
I use the 303 Multi-Surface Cleaner in the white bottle. Use a toothbrush over the entire fender flare and then wipe off. Works great. I will also use the 303 Protectant in the blue bottle so help with UV protection.
For those looking for decibel comparisons, the phone that had the videos crashed and was unable to be saved; however, I have found the videos were synced to Google photos so I can stich the videos together. Been doing a bunch of travelling, but will get up as soon as possible.
I was one of the peeps that had to wait a year / half because I wanted a hardtop. I think the aftermarket ones look better in color / and the sportier look. Also live in a very windy state. My theory is the after market lines is less blocky then OEM. Little better aerodynamics.
Any update one the decibel difference in the OEM and TOR? Something simple like using the noise feature on the apple watch would give some insight. Appreciate any insight you may have!
Technically I had it installed at their shop, however; I've had it off and put it back on myself with the help of a friend. I also have a friend that purchased the top and had it shipped. I helped him uncreate it and install. It's very easy. Took longer to remove the soft top than install the hard top.
if anyone of these after market makers would put a simple gutter piece, I would go for it in a heartbeat... don't just make it look better, make it work better.
They have said it's coming as an option (around $500 including defrost). Pretty sure they are sourcing it from Ford, but I could be wrong. The early adopters will be given the entire rear glass section to replace. From what I understand, you can do wiper blades and washer and/or defrost. I might just choose the defrost as I typically don't use a rear wiper.
@@healnthruwheeln Thanks for the review. I really like the looks of the Turn top and especially since it's black and not gray like the OEM. A couple of questions for you - any update from Turn on the wiper blade option? A few buddies that have the OEM top said this is a must and they use it all the time. Also, how are those latches holding up - they look like they're not that sturdy and could loosen over time. Finally, how large is the single panel opening? I really like the OEM design with the 2 panels able to come out but not sure how often i would actually remove the middle panel. Hope you and your wife are doing okay and sorry to hear about your son.
@@healnthruwheeln do you know if there’s a video on how there made? I had placed two different orders on advanced fiberglass tops but I had to cancel twice because they keep giving delivery dates and can’t keep them because they’re still having manufacturing issues. I like how AFT are made (problem is they can’t seem to get them made) so I’m just wondering how these are made.
How about reading the author's about and cutting him some slack. Sorry for the loss of your son. My youngest son is that age and I can't even imagine the pain.
Great video. Can’t wait for the decibel comparison.

Mi main gripe with the Turn Off-Road top is the angle in the rear side glass dont math the angle on the back slope....
Very nice. Which 303 protectant do you use? Looking for something for my fender wells as well.

Hi. I received my TOR top yesterday and noticed some oily type film on it. Did yours also have that ?

I installed my TOR top two weeks ago. I'm very curious how it compares to the OEM for wind noise.
What are the dimensions of the TOR emblem/badge?
Have you had a chance to compare the wind noise between the TOR and OEM when driving 50+ MPH?
Do you have the decibel comparison yet? Thanks.
Hows the noise compared to OEM
So is this a fiberglass HT or composite?
Where is the decibel reading video?
Did you have your hard top delivered or did you have it installed at the shop?

My OEM hard top does not have a gutter either.
Wiper blades and washer fluid rear?

I prefer the TOR appearance.
How much are these tops?
We paid $4,499.

Ay yay yay: consider doing a voiceover- the sheer quantity of “uhs” & “ums “ made listening to this painstaking…
Couldn't agree more. I threw it together getting back from KOH off the top of my head.

After market vrs open, why do people make such stupid shit up.
*OH FFS trade that POS in on a Land Cruiser!*
Oh FFS, stop yelling grandpa.
Not with those new Toyota engine. This 4 banger easily beats a land cruiser and it's moronic new engine.
