Salamat sa video Dada Koo. Brings back lots of memories going back to the late 70's. A happy place during my childhood. (Siguro mag ka edad tayo.)... Farmers market, Araneta Coliseum, Fiesta Carnival, Rustans, Ali Mall, Isetan ,New Frontier theater, COD (Specially during Holiday season...window shows), Goldilocks(caramel popcorn), National Bookstore, Goodwill Bookstore, Ma Mon Luk, Greg shoes, Marikina Shoe Expo SM Shoe store in Aurora BLVD.. ...and eventually SM Cubao in the 80's. The first McDonald chain also in Cubao. I left 25 years ago, been home twice but never went by Araneta Center. And before that, SM City & Mega Mall was the place to be. Sadly, Araneta Center when I left looks abandoned and dirty. And also scary place specially at night. So glad its coming back to its old glory as a cool and safe place to hang around. The last time I set foot at the Araneta Center (according to my wife) was way back in 1987 when we had a date at King Arthurs restaurant.
    Suggestions:
    1. When going from Point A to B, don't stop the video. Just fast forward it. Using a bicycle while vloging is also a good idea. More areas to cover.
    2. Try to name the cross streets. It will help as a reference.
    3. Speaking of reference, in this vlog, araneta coliseum is the best point. Use the term North East South West.
I wish you went as far as Aurora Blvd. Konting lakad na lang..haha...Me & Wifey are from QC (Im from UP Village and she is from the Sct. Area).Do a driving blog around QC area starting from Quezon Memorial Circle (Elliptical Rd.) stopping by Parks & Wild Life then Quezon Avenue Then Delta West Ave Timog Area, Roces Avenue then East Avenue back to Quezon Memorial Circle to complete the loop. And have a meal around Maginhawa Area in UP/Teachers Village. I heard there's a row of eateries back there now...also would be fun to see the University Belt. UST Espana Recto.
Wifey & I had fun arguing about the landmarks the whole morning (lol). Keep more videos coming. Salamat Ulit

the last time i set my foot prints in that area was in 1988. i was a 4th year college student of P.U.P. dyan kami pumupunta pag gumigimik. i still remember C.O.D. department store, dyan kami nag store practice in 1986 at tuwing magpapasko may show sa labas ng building.

Hi!
(Correct me if I’m wrong).
By the way kaya ko nalaman yong present COD, Fiesta Carnival at Rustan ngayon kasi tiningnan ko sa Google Map.
Nice video sir & thank you for touring us to the new Cubao👍🏻

I went to elementary school at Stella Maris College in Aurora Blvd. I remembered Ali Mall and the Araneta Center. There used to be Queens Grocery store and COD. Thanks Dada for sharing your vlog.

Nakakamis talaga. Thank you Dada Koo for your video. I'm looking forward to go there again to see it for myself. God bless..

Thank you very much again for featuring the Araneta Centre, its such a beautiful place, I was there 2 years ago, but I was not able to explore that much just the Ali Mall, Gateway Mall, Araneta, there were more beautiful shops and resto below the Condos.

So, the Gateway mall was built around what used to be the Araneta Coliseum's old, massive parking lot. That's a good use of their parking lot. Btw, the old COD department store was short for Cash On Delivery...not, Christmas On Display. They did have a Xmas show yearly though that I think has since moved to Greenhills. And, it's P. Tuazon Street, not just Tuazon Street.

Whatever happened to Araneta Coliseum? I remember going there with my Aunt. Charing Buenconsejo to see Del Shannon (singer of 'Runaway' song) in concert. I think in the mid. 1960's. Wow, things have changed! Regarding Muhammad Ali, while I was a freelance photographer, I took pictures of him during the Muhammad Ali Invitational Track Meet back in 1977 in Southern CA. running the 100-yard dash with other celebrities, like Tony Orlando (singer of 'Tie A Yellow Ribbon Around the Old Oak Tree' song) & Bruce Jenner (winner of the 1976 Olympic Decathalon), he was still a man back then. Those were the days gone by.

Yung JB Transit lawanit ang kaha nun if i remember. Dyan Ako natutu mag roller skating. Nan dyan pa kaya ung Marikina Expo along COD? Dyan ung magagandang sapatos gawa sa Marikina. Ay naku nakaka miss ung kabataan ko.

COD , he mentioned stands for Christmas O n Display. Actually the first COD was at Rizal Avenue Manila. As far as I know , COD stands for Cash On Delivery but I'm not so sure about that. Let's ask any surviving members of the Del Rosario family , the owner of COD what it stands for.
