Great video, thank you for sharing! I truly appreciate your forthrightness and outspokenness. Videos like these are a wakeup call for those who may mistakenly believe they're excelling when there's room for improvement. Keep up the excellent work!
I agree with everything you said other than he's a level 1 / level 2, that's pretty unfair... The main reason why you are critising him is due to the designs and how bad they look, this will easily be solved once you are a job and you get a figma file sent to you rather than creating one from scratch. He is full stack - which is immediately better than many people who focus on frontend only.
@@cristian-florea-coding Yep hiring managers will not be impressed and will toss the resume.......he also needs to research how some real pro developers design and develop their portfolios to see how he measures up within the industry.
The sad thing about people like Jeremie and others who build portfolios and hope to get hired is that they put in a lot of effort but don't get any feedback. That's why I joined your programme and other people who are serious about coding should too. The apps we build are top notch and the reason we succeed is because you only accept the best version of us.
Front-End Developer vs Website Designer/UI/UX is a different thing. Bet he can code it given the design from a Figma file. I think he better copy a portion of other company websites if he can't do UI
Nah, this review isnt it, he is obviously a good web dev but made websites with bad design. A better advice would have been to let him clone good website designs rather than creating his own as he is obviously not a good UI/UX designer.
Jeremie is more than a 2, a 2 is like just knowing html and nothing else, he just has no aesthetic styling in his projects, some aspects of his portfolio are styled adequately while others are not. I agree you cannot have projects looking like that, they need to look beautiful and styled well and not using default Times New Roman font for all his text. But it looks like he actually created the functionality in his projects or at least, I presume so as I could not see enough of his projects from this video, he just has to become better with design and he could get his portfolio up to a 7 given his projects are decent. I would rate no lower than 4 maybe a 5.
you are the coolest TH-camr out there. I didn't apply for your mentor ship program and if I had the money I will. but guess what just by hearing the advice from your youtube channel I will make it and share it with you. maybe then they will belive that coding is not dead.
Hey i watched it twice, you graded him on the design ,which is necessary because the developers wont see the portfolio first but someone from non tech background. What about the features he created? Are they bad too?
@@cristian-florea-codingwhat is the definition of 'too simple '? Ex: a comment section in a blog web app, is that simple? Or a comment section like Twitter is that simple(nested comments)?
Respectfully, all your takes are terrible man. The last thing I would ever tell someone is to just stop applying, he's clearly got a hold of the core-concepts of web design, and at an entry level position nobody expects the world from you. It's all about numbers game with applying at entry level. Hard disagree on his job readiness as well. Seems to me like you're trying too hard to fear factor people into buying your course and its very obvious.
All you said is his design was bad and basically shit on him. You didnt really give much else he can work off of, your only advice was to join your membership program. This is just some aggressive marketing to sell your course. Yikes
I am strongly disagree about 1-2/10 job ready. He could be perfectly job-ready and this little portfolio projects are not describing him as a developer, it only describes his abilities to sell himself on the market. Designing was always be a problem for a devs, QA is also not a requirement for a frontend for example. He had sorting project - it may requiere some deep dev understanding. If it looks like shit - it doesn't mean nothing except of he is not very good at design. You never know if he is able to make smaller project himself, if u gave him the design , good description and qa tester( as it would be in a real company ).

For a beginner front end learner like me, it is both discouraging and eye opening.
That’s fine if you’re discouraged. This is a competition and not everybody will qualify to attempt the race

Somebody woke me up to that and I'm in the process of redesigning a few projects based on other sites.
i literally took one thing from this video and i really needed it : "be serious on what u make"

ok bro
Damn, your website sucks for someone who can be so critical. I opened on my phone and the scrolling was buggy af.
Check the link on his description qnd scroll on your phone guys🤣, scam artist
I noticed that too. It's broken. He should fix it.
@nikos4677 what phone are you using?

There's no sarcasm involved ,I am genuinely asking.
And what is hard ? An example would be great to explain.
People think they are too good than what they really are
Gotta be humble and get better
Be the underdog and act like it
The header is made from tutorial or the projects are old. The difference in design, responsiveness and animations is huge.
the other thing is that entry level developer you must know everything lol
Shit… I’m screwed 😂
😂😂😂
