Just got my JU-06A and JP-08 both with the K-25M keyboards attached this week - I’m 60 year old from the 80’s punk rock / art rock / fusion days and i had a Roland JP-6 that i had bought in ‘84 for $2,876. At SAM ASH MUSIC here in nyc and it was hit by a 2x4 years ago and i threw it out - so I’m having FLASHBACKS RIGHT NOW with my 2 boutique series LOVE THE SOUNDS!!!💯💯💯😎🥸🤪🤓😜🥰

Nice! As a guy who owned a Juno 6 in '86, I'm both tempted by this synth (Juno!) and repelled by it --it's tiny, digital, and has only 4 note polyphony (what!). It does capture some of the sound, though, especially those square waves tumbling out of the arpeggiator like liquid crystals. Classic and lovely! Thanks for sharing. :)
@@Motocicleiros hey saw this and thought I’d reply as I recently picked up the JX-08 instead and it is really fulfilling my Roland / Juno temptation. Unlike the JU-06A, it has 20 voice polyphony! It’s also bitimbral, has 2 oscillators, and loads of effects. It’s not analog obviously, but it still has that luscious Roland vibe.
Awesome - I might have to look into the JU-06a once I master the synths I already have lol. Curious: do you run stereo out from your microcosm? If so, what cable to do you use to go from the mono synth to stereo microcosm?
The microcosm let’s you configure it so you can send in a mono source and then produce a stereo output in the global config of the device. No special cables
Hey Liam, is there really no way to sync the arpeggiator to midi beat clock? I've confirmed this but it was heartbreaking and I just want to double confirm and ask if you have any workarounds
@@LiamKillen such a bummer. This thing is so close to being the perfect little juno clone and then they leave the arp floating WHY god 😅 I've just been using the arp to write and record the midi part, quantize it, and then play it back so i can perform the juno parameters but that extra step is no fun
Ahh it really depends- often times with a sequencer you have to put all the parts together before pressing the button- the JU-06a, yeah it’s like a cherry on top sort of deal

I love little power house synths like this. They can be swapped in and out and stored so easily, plus not taking up crazy desktop space.
Yeah these types of synths are my jaaammm
An amazing depth of sound.. goes right to the core of ones being .. intense .. crisp .. absolutely breathtaking .. thanks for the walk through ..
Thanks as always for watching!

Oh that’s so awesome! I hope to be doing synth/music production stuff at your age + beyond! That’s inspiring
Great quick tutorial. Just got the JP-08 and JU-06A last week. Cool to know chord mode works with arp and sequencer. Will have to try. Thanks!
It’s the best!
I’ve watched demos of both- this combo must be killer

Yeah there’s something special about it. Thx for watching!
I am in the very same boat. Same keyboard, same time, same temptation.

Great demonstration 👌

@@LiamKillen is it possible to records different chords within the same sequence ?
Definitely love the format. Great to see you succinctly show off the power and workflow of the JU06A beastie.🔥🔥🔥
It’s such a beast I love it
Wonderful video! How can I change the velocity of the arpeggiator? Thank you
I don’t think you can! Thank you for watching! 😊
Loved it!
Absolutely love this! Wish I played keys so I could dive in!
No need to be a key player with that arp + chord function!
Loved the vid & jam
Thx for watching !
Is that keyboard unit the one from Kraft? K-25M? It looks great paired with the actual Roland module!
It’s a unit direct from Roland!
bro, we need more videos with the digitone pleaaaase
Anything in particular?
I have some Digitakt stuff coming next week :-)
@@LiamKillen id love to see a "how to ambient" on the digitone alone, cause theres not enough vids like this ;) best regards bro
Bro it would be epic if you did a vid on synthwavey arps on the Digitone too 🔥
Digitakt and Digitone combo videos! There’s so many tricks to using the LFOs on Digitakt, especially now since there’s two per track!

You can get a mono 8th inch to stereo quarter inch which would work great.

Very cool
🍻
Is it possible using the arp by the internal sequencer..?
Thanks✌🏻
Yes ! If I remember correctly, yes you're able to do this - just turn arp + hold on and add notes into the sequencer
@@LiamKillen ah...I don't knew...thanks..✌🏻
Damn these apps sound so dreamy! Is there a good software version of this too?
Arturia has a great one called Jun 6v- here it is: th-cam.com/video/XWAboJycNog/w-d-xo.html
Thanks man! I'll check it out

Maybe there is a way and I just haven’t found it. Generally I use the sequencer which works great

With a 500$ Microcosm - every synth sound nice....
You're right lol
Everything suddenly sounds like Stranger Things soundtrack.
😂
Not a bad thing 😏
🤩❤️😍
Thank you for watching ! :-)
Idk if it's depressing or interesting that a lot of music you hear is basically made by pressing 1 note and having AI make the rest up.
Ahh it really depends- often times with a sequencer you have to put all the parts together before pressing the button- the JU-06a, yeah it’s like a cherry on top sort of deal
▲ what a fat sound this tiny beast has!
I'm using it in like all of my music lol.
Joke
This guy ain’t jokin’
