    Just a note that the DC United rulebook *is* on the page, at the bottom of the Core Box description.

    I think they were foolish to release this now rather than 1 year into the new DCU movie releases. I would have just dropped it off the calendar and set the release date to go hand in hand with the new Superman movie. It might have increased sales by $1M with the free hype. As it is, CMON is flooding the market right now and competing heavily against itself.

    I’m scared to look into the United series. I have a “collect them all” issue which would be bad for me with that haha
    Ended up passing on brink, but backed 20 Strong. It’s the only solo game I actively play.

    With every campaign of the United series they have added more features (purple characters, equipment, new types of hero cards), but it’s not enough to get another version/campaign. I have the first Marvel United and would only be willing to get more if they added the new features to the old content. For example: Captain America with a shield equipment. I just can’t see them ever doing that.

    • @ketami2

      I'm wondering if I can just take the shield equipment card and just use it with Captain America from the first Marvel United. I don't know but I'll find out.

    Personally, I am looking forward to 20 Strong. I like the Manny Trembley's artwork (own and play Wonderlands War) and was very drawn in by the 'slay the spire' progress for the Red deck. Backed it, don't feel the need to over deluxify the counter.

    I don't see why we can't use DC united with some of the Marvel United. I was always a Marvel fan and have all of United, but I'm definitely getting at least the core box, the teen titans box, and potentially a bat family box when that drops. We'll see if i get it all or not.... i hope i dont....

    I am very tempted by DC United. If I did that, it would actually be the first crowdfunding campaign I have done this year (I've been good so far! Is it worth breaking that streak? I don't know.)
    I can't see myself going all in like I did with Multiverse, some of the expansions they've revealed so far look neat but I can do without, but I'm quite tempted by Gotham (I just love Batman) and Suicide Squad (a whole set of purple characters? No dedicated heroes or villains? That's new. Plus, 'The Suicide Squad' was a great movie.) I'm very curious to hear how much you end up going in for.
    Although I do with Multiverse had been delivered before this campaign launched! Very poor timing on their part.
    Tanglewood Red intrigues me because of its Slay The Spire nature, but on the other hand I just got the Slay The Spire board game (which I really like), and I have a big single player game coming later this year, so I'm going to pass on this one.
    Thanks for the video!

    Great overview, thanks for sharing your uncompromising thoughts 😊
    It helped me decide against Deep Regrets, as I don't like multiplayer solo games that much, and... I don't like fishing at all 😁 but I was pulled by the creepy skin.
    Terrorscape is a funny one. It looks great and fun to play on occasions. I passed the first campaign hoping to get it in retail, but the company is doing a tight control on how to get the game, so we're stuck with crowdfunding to get it, including the nasty shipping fee and some dodgy tax they impose for countries that normally don't pay taxes on crowdfunding. Took the plunge this time, but keeping to the core box as I probably won't play it often enough to warrant getting expansions (we have too many games to play a single one often!).
    Cheers!

    If it was strictly Batman, his allies, and his villains I would likely back. The updates keep naming all of these characters that I have never heard of which doesn’t move me at all.
    I’m keeping an eye on what continues to be released but likely will give it a pass. In fairness, aside from Batman, I’m definitely more into Marvel characters than DC.

    I so want to like the United system so I could get all those Chibli minis. I've painted 2 retail sets hoping the gameplay in the 2nd would be better than the 1st. But honestly I don't get it, I didn't get Jaws of the Lion either but love Imperium. I've not gone in on Final Girl, I'm not playing the content I have, but love the idea of the new content. I absolutely get the hype. Just try and stay strong and largely wait until pledge manager to get stuck in. Creators are so desperate for extra unit sales they don't care if you got in at the start.
    I really enjoy 20 Strong but it's not a casual pick up and win. It does require some serious thinking and development of strategy against what you're facing. In all the plays and it's not huge, (it's my take it on holiday pack), I rarely win, I get closer but in early plays I'd lose in 15 mins. The 3 base decks do play completely different, it is OTT production but it's going to stay around for me. Like all CTG games it takes some thunking(sic) to get on top of it. Totally agree about the promo pack. Never used them and unlikely to. The bit I don't get is the why this early into the franchise, 3 decks delivered, 3 in this release and 1 already named are people jumping in on getting a 20 deck storage holder. At the current rate of release you are looking at 2032 before you need it, 2027 before you need almost half of it. And as with earlier CTG stuff the sizing is likely to change, despite what they say now, and make it redundant anyway due to some gameplay addition outside the dice and decks.
    May the dice stay in your favour, have fun and stay safe.

    I've been reading a lot of Batman lately. I was really excited for DC United since I heard great things about Marvel United. Turns out, I only know like a handful of characters from DC I'm not excited anymore. I can't tell you where a single one of those 15 stretch goals are from. I'll still keep an eye on the campaign. If an Arkham box comes out and its an exclusive, which I doubt, I'll jump back in.

    Well Alex has been such a huge fanboy of Marvel United game series that CMON likely made darn sure he was well equipped to do the review on time.

    • @sethwinslow
      @sethwinslow หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Are you making a point? It seems like you’re implying Alex has some bias. The fact that he likes Marvel United (a lot) doesn’t imply anything nefarious.

    • @sidneyleejohnson
      @sidneyleejohnson หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@sethwinslow Is it bias, that he likes the engine based upon playing all the previous games based upon it? Yes? And no I wasn't implying anything nefarious. His filming his reviews on various editions led CMON to be sure they get the product in his hands first so that we all had his opinion early instead of late. That IMHO would just be marketing 101. Its a win/win. That said, one should always try to determine whether a particular influencer represents your own interests generally speaking in order to gauge the applicability of their opinion to your own collection management. It so happens Alex's opinions do generally overlap with my own but that may not be the case for every gamer. Best of luck in managing your own collection!
      Just an FYI, there have been many times where Alex did not get the game in time to do a full review before the campaigns end, and we're left with to back or not to back videos without full play throughs and his 1-5 rating. In this event, I have a much harder time determining whether I should back it (despite the name of the video itself). His full reviews IMHO are 10x more helpful than a quick impression on to back or not to back.
      One last point, if you support Alex, you do gain access to some of his own "stop the fomo" style opinions that he doesn't like to share out in the open. There is nothing nefarious about this approach. He has to add at least some value to the patron supporters. And yes I think they get something out of it that is worth their support. I do like to watch 3-6 influencers to compare notes across them... perhaps a consensus building comfort level before I back. But we're all human and can fall for situations that don't work out despite how much we try to avoid pitfalls. So if I get a small percentage of duds over most of the games I back with help by the influencers I can live with that risk.

    • @luisecmf
      @luisecmf หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@sethwinslow Its pretty obvious that he has a bias - he even says so himself in every video. He loves CMON games, he gets all their prototypes before their campaigns and he works for Gamefound, which hosts CMON campaigns. Alex has a heavy bias but that is ok as long as people are aware (and he makes sure to let them know in every video)

      @@luisecmf bias has a very specific meaning. It suggests a systematic distortion, which could be conscious or unconscious. I like cantaloupe. The similarity between cantaloupe and honeydew suggests I would also like honeydew. That’s not bias.
      Now, if you don’t like cantaloupe and you hear me rave about honeydew (after having tasted it, of course), you can dismiss my view on honeydew as resulting from my tastes diverging from yours.
