Slavery was a dark chapter of American history. We should learn from it, but yet at the same time, we shouldn’t incessantly harp on it and use it as an excuse to justify for poverty, crimes, the breakdown of family structure, failure of the education system etc.
I found Lester’s visit to the Monument to Freedom very moving. How apathetic and cruel we were to our fellow humans. How far we have come as a nation. And how far we have yet to go as a society. Demand Freedom!

Americans did not have a presence in Africa at that time, the European countries that were colonizing African territory did. Maybe inclusion of one or two near or within the garden monument could provide a the stark contrast between KKK 1920s statues used for intimidation and glorification in contrast with the figures of historic human suffering.
History must be remembered and taught,espically painful or shameful history lest we make the same mistakes again and again. Germany faces it's shameful past and doesn't sweep it under the rug. Adjacently, this reminds me of my earlier idea to take the old Civil War military statues and recintextualize them rather than bury them away in warehouses. Maybe inclusion of one or two near or within the garden monument could provide a the stark contrast between KKK 1920s statues used for intimidation and glorification in contrast with the figures of historic human suffering.

America must have the courage and wisdom to do the same. Do they have a virtual tour for those who cannot afford to make the trip? I hope so because everyone of us should get to bare witness to these autrocities of the past and learn from the mistakes of our forefathers.

Inflation is down. High prices are due to price gouging, corporate greed, shrinkflation. Why companies would get their prices down when now they are getting way more millions than before and have very happy CEOS and stakeholders? What do you think is the effect of deregulations and tax cuts for companies and the wealthy other than allowing them to do as they please and charge whatever they want for everything you need? FYI, the USA is a capitalist country, and the government *has not* power on what companies do. Why do you think there's such a scandal about airplanes malfunctions? *Because putting profits above safety has consequences, which are catastrophic when it comes to airplanes. The things crash, people get hurt and die.* And you think that's not important?

I haven't flown for 10 years. The prices are high, the inside of the planes are not friendly for tall people, and other flyers are so rude. I now hear about constant plane and maintenance issues. No thank you.
