My grandfather had Parkinsons. He used to love reading, but couldn't hold a book or the newspaper still enough to read. He would walk laps around a tree in his yard, in fact, he did it so much he wore a trench several inches deep around that tree, and when he couldn't walk outside anymore he walked laps around the kitchen table.
I couldn’t stop my tears when I see Peter , this was so promising and beautiful.. Am gonna share this video to one of my dear friend , whom her husband also has Parkinson . Knowledge is key , sharing is caring . Beautiful documentary ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾

Michael J Fox has done so much for this deadly disease. When he informed everyone he had the horrific disease, my grandmother had just died from it. I was so scared for him and my mother and siblings.
This really hits home for me. My larger then life dear Father had Parkinson's and toward the end it was so heartbreaking. My heart goes out to everyone dealing with this terrible disease, God bless ❤️🙏.
There are people like Michael J Fox that got diagnosed for 30 years and modern medicine have kept him going before the disease took over. For Michael he is nearly at the end stage. He can't act anymore but was recently at a Comic Con convention in Philadelphia. Either way, it's a terrible disease that takes away everything eventually.
My husband had the same dr as Michael J Fox for a while. Dr. Silver in SD. Mr Fox contributed large donations for Parkinson's research. Dr. de la Vega in San Diego thought his diease was caused by toxins in Imperial Valley, CA from pesticides and the New River. One factor in my husband's treatment was diet. His protein was restricted to 12% of his diet. This made a difference. However, was not a candidate for DBS. His disease had progressed too far to be considered. This is an electrical implant to stimulate the brain. It used to cost $100, 000, not covered by our insurance. I believe it is now under medicare. It's kind of like a car with a drained battery, gets recharged, and runs for a while longer.
My father recently died of Parkinsons disease. When I saw Peter Sauer's dramatic results I couldn't help but cry. Its unfortunate about the other transplant recipients who had a different procedure. We gain knowledge through our mistakes just as much or more than we do our successes though. I sincerely hope that scientists continue to make progress. Regardless of if its by leaps and bounds or baby steps. Whats important is forward progression towards a cure.
If possible, you could always travel and meet up with that doctor with actual success to treat his disease. This is why it’s important to do your research in finding the right doctor.

My husband has it due to the psych meds he has taken for the past 30 years for Bipolar Disorder. He has had hand tremors for the past 15 years but they were mild until 3 years ago and are now noticeable. The only treatment is to stop or reduce the dose of his psych meds and even that doesn't guarantee the tremors will go away completely. His dose was reduced 6 months ago but there hasn't been an improvement yet. I just hope they won't get worse. I wish he could just stop the meds all together but if he does that, then he will have a relapse and end up in the psych ward. However, if his condition started to deteriorate , we decided he would stop taking the meds all together and would take the chance of him relapsing and see what happens.
I took my mom to the neurologist for her appointments and we met a 14 year old boy with Parkinson’s disease. My friend Shauna was diagnosed at 18 years old and died at 33 years old.
Wonder if the 14-yr-old boy was taking any psych meds? However, the treatment in those cases is to drop or reduce the meds dose.

I lost my wife of 15-years to Parkinson's 2 years ago after her 12-year battle. I was angry and frustrated by the lack of progress here in the United States with its research restrictions. We are so behind in Parkinson's research and treatment compared to European countries. Both the UK and Germany have been making some amazing progress due to their ability to do embryonic stem cell research and develop new treatments to rebuild the brain cells responsible for making dopamine. In 2001, President Bush (Senior) banned federal funding of embryonic stem cell research, but in the UK it is the opposite, which enabled researchers there to discover new treatments. Our government is so fond of giving away billions of dollars in aid to other countries, but won't give a damned red cent to help find a cure for Parkinson's. Ok... I'm off my soap box now, like I said I'm angry, and I think, if that ban wasn't in place, my wife (and others) might have survived.
My brother has Parkinson's - makes me wonder about my future. It's been 14 years since this broadcast. What advances have been made in over a decade? Nothing.
To the narrator, my deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved father. Goodness just radiates from his Face. My most beloved, gentle, kind, sensitive grandfather suffered so, and then the dementia set in……..he didn’t know me, or his sons. Terrible way to die…….my grandfathers mother was from Norway??? My precious grandfather walked 5 miles a day, each day to work, because he wanted to! He was in fantastic shape, not everyone suffers from not enough exercise!
Yeah, "not enough exercise" is a great way to just blame the patient and call it a day. While it's true that a lot of people no longer get the exercise and sleep they really need, it's also very, very convenient. Besides that, certain changes are often symptoms of disease, not a "lifestyle choice".. It's like lung cancer or aids.. even people who never touched a cigarette in their lives and weren't "sleeping around" can get such diseases. Got Alzheimer's? Shoulda done more Sudoku! Can't always just blame sick people for their suffering, but very often people do, and sometimes those people are professional doctors.. and it's a sad state of affairs.. I'm so, so sorry that your grandfather suffered from this terrible disease.. my husband had meningitis a couple of years ago, and as his brain was swelling up in his head, he couldn't remember us. He went into a coma. When he woke up, I remember my youngest asking me "Mom, does he know who we are?" My husband did, but it was absolutely terrifying. Having something like that stripped permanently.. it makes my heart cry.. I wish people would be just that little bit more compassionate, even if that may obligate them to put in a little more effort to actually help people..
I am horrified by the willingness to subject innocent monkeys to the possibility of Parkinsons after making them go on a treadmill for who knows how long, while, on the other hand, people are upset about stem cell research on the grounds it's a potential human. Experiment on yourselves if you want a cure and also don't glorify human existence to the exclusion of using something that may help if not cure.
@@missnellafuland when you have Alzheimer’s or some other horrible disease you’ll be thankful that they didn’t do research on monkeys that could’ve possibly saved your life see ya
Maintaining acidic condition of your body with exercise or balsamic vinegar counter the effects of ammonium sulphate and nitrate salts and BSE. Prion infection?
After watching the entire 53 minute presentation, I was profoundly disappointed that no mention was made of the enormous progress made by studies of nutrition and the microbiome. Complete elimination of dietary sugars, grains and seed derived oils is likely to prevent PD in most people. Whether it can "cure" it still needs thorough testing and research of course, but it should absolutely not be ignored. Sincerely, David Silverman
Well, there is no mention because this Frontline episode aired in 2009, long before a connection was made with the role that the microbiome plays with the brain, and the large Vagus nerve that connects the digestive system with the brain.
The answer is Regenerative medicine and removing the politics from Embryonic stem cell. Deeper then that, wemust change our environmental policies so that things like "Round Up" cannot be used on our fruits and vegetables!
Time and time again it is shown the worst thing for the body is just sitting doing nothing. Normal exercise helps with heart health and yields many other benefits. Keep it moving as long as you can and grow a garden. Gardening is relaxing and allows some time outdoors. It ain't a silver bullet but you could do a lot worse.

Industrial regulations have to be imposed it has not been possible to get effective industrial regulations with negotiation of regulations. The regulations have to be imposed by professional opinion and defense of regulation.

I’m neither a Rhodes Scholar nor a Brain Surgeon; however, in my humble opinion, if more attention could be paid to **Cleaning up the Environment and providing excellent Nutrition** a Lot of what ails mankind could be eradicated. I tend to view life more or less thru the lens of the Spiritual and Holistic. If those who are moneyed and in power could cease from destroying and polluting our earth (which impacts the health of all of us) and make available to everyone healthy fruits, vegetables, real whole food, etc, then we would be Gucci because the One True God Jehovah has designed our bodies in such a wondrous way so that it heals itself with time and effort 💜
My father passed in 2006 of Parkinson's and Lewey Body dementia. We lived in a farming community and from 1964-1979 we were all expose to pesticides, herbicides and exfoliants. I remember standing outside and letting the crop dusters spray on our skin because it was cool, of course dad told us to stop once he saw it. Years after we had moved from that area a developer was going to build homes and once they tested the soil (20 years after we'd moved) they said the soil was too toxic for people to live there. My mother fought cancer for many years and my sister has also had many health issues including, cancer-non Hodgkins Lymphoma 4B resistant and other health issues. Alcohol abuse is also prevalent our family. My father asked me if I would be supportive of abortion if they could use the childs remains to save my father; I said no. It is like killing one person to save another. We are not God and I think the medical community should "do not harm" in unborn lives also. From what I understand, the aborted fetal cell transplants end up causing cancer in the brain.
Thank you. The future looks grim, because of all the horror music in these documentaries. Stop it. Turn it off, so people are able to listen to the content of the films, Mr. Cummings.
There is probably an ethical solution to the stem cells for Parkinson's problem in mesenchymal stem cells from live birth umbilical cords. Has anyone investigated this?
Using the embryos that are destined for the trash is an ethical solution. The only violation of ethics shown here was the actions of George W Bush and the other Republicans who would not support a veto over ride.
Oh, that's a surprise. I moved from California to Florida, and asked Mayo for my every three week estrogen shot, that I had been receiving in California. I had an early hysterectomy, and got osteoporosis, but I was fine when I moved to Florida. So, they decided to use me as a lab rat to see how fast I would deteriorate, along with the estrogen in my body. Then when I had gone from 900 to 5 in estrogen and I was always crying they put me in a mental hospital. Mayo can rot in hell. 🔥

2023. Two friends died this year after more than a decade of dealing with Parkinson's. Both were in their '80's.
One hopes there will be a treatment or cure for generations to come.
biofilm, treat the biofilm
How wonderful to watch Frontline, even a long way away, from where it's made.
How about medical marihuana ! I’ve seen people with Parkinson’s totally stop shaking and being able to talk! There’s a thought to control de shaking, but we really need to find a cure, prevent!
Ulcer -> Parkinson's. -> Medical upcoding -> biofilm
Happy to see Charles in this video, he had a wonderful life. RIP
Thank you for all you do at frontline. The best journalist are on PBS 😊
It was a shill vid, it was actually shameless and deplorable especially the focus on dopamine
Ulcer -> Parkinson's. -> Medical upcoding -> biofilm
I'm cured of my Genital Herpes. God bless Herbalist Drewi1 on TH-cam.
My brother has Parkinson's - makes me wonder about my future. It's been 14 years since this broadcast. What advances have been made in over a decade? Nothing.
I love PBS documentary. from Ph🇵🇭
Diagnosis of Parkinson's went up like 50% or so the past 3 years or so
Source for this info?
I really hope with the discovery of CRISPR that we will finally be able to cure Parkinson’s Disease once and for all.
Ulcer -> Parkinson's. -> Medical upcoding -> biofilm?
To the narrator, my deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved father. Goodness just radiates from his
Face.
Awesome documentary.
you didn’t even watch it.

You realize the documentary has been out for over a decade? Have a great day!
Pathogen like h. pylori -> biofilm -> Ulcer -> Parkinson's? Treat the Ulcer? They may want to enslave humanity
Monkeys are not put on this planet for us to use for research! They are here for us to love, nurture, respect and support! Thank you Susan Harris!
👍
@@missnellafuland when you have Alzheimer’s or some other horrible disease you’ll be thankful that they didn’t do research on monkeys that could’ve possibly saved your life see ya
But not babies/embryos?
Leave it to rush limbaugh to make up another conspiracy theory about Michael.
Thank you PBS for another educational video.
I'm cured of my Genital Herpes. God bless Herbalist Drewi1 on TH-cam.
Maybe if we cut the pesticide with Heroin we can at least make the long-term side effects enjoyable
Maintaining acidic condition of your body with exercise or balsamic vinegar counter the effects of ammonium sulphate and nitrate salts and BSE. Prion infection?
Mao inhibitor and balsamic vinegar is the normal treatment for...... BSE contaminated food.
biofilm
I was just diagnosed. I've read alot about B1 therapy. I hope 🙏 it works !
Have u tried it?
After watching the entire 53 minute presentation, I was profoundly disappointed that no mention was made of the enormous progress made by studies of nutrition and the microbiome. Complete elimination of dietary sugars, grains and seed derived oils is likely to prevent PD in most people. Whether it can "cure" it still needs thorough testing and research of course, but it should absolutely not be ignored.
Sincerely,
David Silverman
Well, there is no mention because this Frontline episode aired in 2009, long before a connection was made with the role that the microbiome plays with the brain, and the large Vagus nerve that connects the digestive system with the brain.
Very touching, thank you!
Cure: whole grain cereals with milk blended with fruits, nuts, and spices. Be creative with the types of fruits, nuts, and spices. 🌿
There is no cure
Please don't mislead people saying that will cure it . That will NOT Cure it.
The answer is Regenerative medicine and removing the politics from Embryonic stem cell. Deeper then that, wemust change our environmental policies so that things like "Round Up" cannot be used on our fruits and vegetables!
i hope they treat the 'mptp' injected monkeys after testing. A lot of our medical science we owe it to animals and i hope we pay back our debt
So much information. Thank you!
But you know that Parkinson's isn't caused by sitting doing nothing, right? 🙄
@@themormonblacksheep 🙄🤦. My statement was directed towards many that have stopped physical activity because they don't understand the connection.
What a sweet soul his brother. I been in elder health care over 30 years.I have never taken care of black person or female with Parkinson all white males.
I noticed you said that the surgery that happened in America that was disappointing used at different method than the surgery that the gentleman had and, I believe it was Canada? Has there been further research with the original surgery method?

Super good! thank you. I plan to use that exercise finding.
What about the umbilical cords that are thrown away as there are companies that want parents to keep them for that child...can these be available for the grandparents or parents?
This aired in 2009.
I haven’t watched this film, but just wanted to share something I heard that might help. Do a detox of parasites and see what happens.
GREAT, KEEP IT ON!❤

I believe my own father's Parkinsons was induced by medical procedures necessary to save his life after his bowel burst. Incidentally, his dietary problems coud be traced back to his internment as POW during WWII.
No mention at all of diet??! Unreal.
Diet can not cure you.
My g wasted 53 minutes to say what could be told in 5 seconds
Beautiful program
Ah my cousin Lorrie has this from her mother's side. I'm from my mother's side a different side. What a difference gene pool makes. So sad, it really is. I worry about her two kids a boy & a girl. They never knew their mother died when they were young from Kidney cancer left side. Son has this one from mom. We all animals included get our blood from our Mothers Always. Remember.
Its so amazing that in 2009 the issues to America being more successful in a medical faield, falls to a political movement .🤔
The future will be based on electronic energy and frequency healing devises, just around the corner

Statin drugs can cause the same symptoms over time
So can psych drugs like Antipsychotics, mood stabilizers like Depakote, Lithium and Antiemetics (Antinausea) like "Reglan" (Metochlopramide) which are commonly given after abdominal surgery.
Embrace it. It is only the next step. What wee you expecting? There is a time to go, any excuse will due.
Industrial regulations have to be imposed it has not been possible to get effective industrial regulations with negotiation of regulations. The regulations have to be imposed by professional opinion and defense of regulation.
You can make changes in your personal life first. Why are you hanging hope on someone somewhere imposing regulations? Stop buying things that involve use of products that you're wanting "regulated." Regulate YOURSELF.

Maybe it's true that all the h-bomb heroin laced ecstasy that wasn't illegal yet in the '80s and early early 90s does have something to do with triggering Parkinson's disease as a long-term side effect
Ulcer -> Parkinson's. -> Medical upcoding -> biofilm?
I believe I saw a documentary about this years ago.
Eating habits weren’t mentioned a single time during the documentary.
We are, what we eat.
That's because all that contaminated ground is where our food comes from.....
If forcing toxins on helpless animals would save my life, I would choose death. Using animals this way is vile.
You're love to the rescue
A Miracle

Why would you have loud music in the background so we can’t hear the narrator? Very disappointed
I met an incredibly woman in a supermarket with this condition.
Perfect
Get rid of the music
Dr. Antonio Costantini ,His High-Dose Thiamine (HDT) therapy has already helped thousands of PwP (People with Parkinson’s)
The Mayo clinic is notorious for not treating Alzheimer's disease in the normal ethical treatment.
Good Program: My TH-cam channel explores the microbiome... and the lymph system that transports neurotransmitters and precursors to the lymph nodes and BRAIN. It seems obvious that the Lymph is moved only by muscle movement since it doesn't have a pump like the heart. Genetics AND sedentary lifestyle could combine in PD. (c)
Oh wow, my mom has Parkinson’s and she’s genetically half Norwegian. That’s really interesting.
Is there anyone with Parkinson's here whose body temperature reaches all the way up to 37C=98.6F during the day?

Parkinson's Disease I once had a friend who had Parkinson's Dopamine Oil stiff deep brain stimulation and progressive and no cure

Scary how street drugs can neurologically damage you permanently.
Could meth be used to treat Parkinson's given the spectacular surge in dopamine it causes? I don't know, it's just a thought but I wonder...
hmmm . ? Meth or Adderall or a similar stimulant ? I'd be surprised if they have not been at-least tried.
