The fact the BB hasn't changed their sound and people are still hyped over a new album ! of course i'm a 38 yo dad that listened to these guys in my teens .

Breaking Benjamin is the greatest dad/butt rock band of all time. So many iconic choruses. They have found their sound and for the most part they have stuck to that forumla. This song is definitely more in line with the sound of Ember and their older stuff, which is awesome.
Polyamorous dropped in 2002 and was the song that introduced BB to the world. Ben is from Wilkes Barre PA. Breaking Benjamin paved the way for a lot of the bands sounds you hear today. MIW and tons of other bands sound like Breaking Benjamin. Not the other way around.
Breaking Benjamin started out with a NuMetal/hard rock style. IMO they are one of the best gateway bands for people who want to start getting into heavier Genres. Their 3rd Album Phobia is absolutely Goated and I recommend that if you have an hour to kill listen to that album a lot of influences came from that album. Jared Dines created his whole platform practically on the sound of Phobia.. their Album “Dear Agony” was special because it was the first Album Ben wrote Sober. They have a song Called “Red cold river” which is more on the heavier side.

So THIS sounds like authentic Breaking Ben where as Motionless in White replicates and there's NOTHING wrong with that. That is what influence is and I love it!!!
Its another way around Breaking Benjamin first album was in 2002 and Motionless In White First EP was in 2009 so that makes Breaking Benjamin oldest and came first
It's the other way around Motioneless sounds like Breaking Benjamin. Here's the thing though, While Breaking Benjamin's sound doesnt quite change as drastically as say... Linkin Park's Chester era they still do evolve the sound overtime. They have alaways had a unique sound. And i'm glad they havent changed that even after an entire lineup change(Outside Ben himself) back in the mid 2000s Listen from Phobia to this song, You can hear it changing.
I've never given Motionless in White a chance but Breaking Benjamin has a sound and they dont sway far from it. Each song hit you in that spot. I think its good for these guys to take the longer breaks in between albums. because each album is large...huge... listenable from front to back. Breaking Benjamin is amazing the entire catalog is great. Their sound is exactly what I like... heavy chunky riffs, clean angelic vocals, and mind numbing ambience.
Love breaking benjamin for getting me into rock/metal when I was growing up. They are nostalgia incarnate for me. As for motionless, if you do give them a chance, they are also one of my top 5 bands, listen to their older stuff especially from Creatures, it sounds nothing like BB but they have gotten closer and closer to BB as time has gone on. BB is from Wilkes-Barre, Pa and MIW is from Scranton, Pa. Same valley, but same scene. There is no problem to say that Ben and Chris have a similar sound. Chris is quite open at just how much Ben and the guys influenced him and his sound. Same with Starset. (And I think you can hear some of Starset here with their recent colab with BB in Waiting for the Sky to Change). And Ben is open about how much he was influenced by Scooter Ward and Cold, which has been around since the 80's. One reason why he was so hyped to sing with Scooter on Ember. And - if you were alive at all to listen to the radio in the early and mid 2000's you know Breaking Benjamin. You may not know Phobia as an album, but you will know almost every song.
Chris motionless said he takes inspiration from Breaking Benjamin. I don’t blame you for thinking they sound similar because new motionless sounds like them definitely.
My opinion on the matter is, I like it both when a band does and doesn't change their sound. What I don't like however, is when a band changes their sound to the point you always confuse them for another band. Like, Motionless in white, you can still tell its MIW even if they sound like Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park, or Marilyn Manson - but when it's like the band loses their identity and you could confuse [x] song by a band for a song by another band very easily, that's the issue for me. A reason there are few modern metalcore songs I like (only some Spiritbox, Falling in Reverse, INK, Knocked Loose and Bullet For my Valentine songs). But admittedly I prefer alternative metal to modern metalcore, so I don't listen to the latter as much as I should either. (When it comes to metalcore, I prefer early to mid 2000s into 2010s melodic metalcore and nu metalcore over the sound metalcore has now.)
Correction.. how old are you youngsta? for the younger crowd.. Emotionless in White was inspired by Breaking Benjamin thats why the familiar sound at times. Breakin Benjamin was formed at least 7 years prior and Motionless states BB as a major influence

Blood & Red Cold River are decently heavy too 🔥
They came back to us with the same sound they left us with except a bit heavier.
If its not broke don’t fix it
I grew up on BB. I like their vibe.
P.S. If you want a great BLEGH listen to Autumn Lies Empty Tear Down The Sky.
If anything, Motionless is inspired by BB. BB has been around since '99. I love both bands, but BB will always be GOATED!
Correction.. how old are you youngsta? for the younger crowd.. Emotionless in White was inspired by Breaking Benjamin thats why the familiar sound at times. Breakin Benjamin was formed at least 7 years prior and Motionless states BB as a major influence
