Max, I was born in the mid 70’s and have immersed myself into the greats for DECADES now. I discovered Guthrie long ago and Matteo before I discovered you. YOU are the one I can’t stop listening to. I believe you have a certain magic that goes beyond technical proficiency. I haven’t been this excited about a guitarist since I was a kid discovering EVH. Thanks for the entertainment and inspiration Max!
If this guy was around in the 80s he would have been all through guitar world magazine just the same as Gilbert , Becker , Friedman and countless others . Incredible talent .

Absolutely love this young man, have been following all his vids since they started and he leaves them all in the dust to me. There is a musicality to all his shredding that just puts him a league of his own. He has the blues thing going, he has all the bends going, he can pick every note or go for a hybrid approach and blends it all together to create incredibly beautiful passages. He just keeps getting better and at this point he is technically every bit as good as Guthrie. Shawn Lane will always be number 1 but I honestly dig Max in the sense of musicality in the riffs. Shawn could go well outside the box to a point of non musical at times, Max never does. This video has some incredible playing, WOW..!!!!
You give me hope. A lot of youth don’t even listen to music you can learn to play on a guitar. This is a common complaint of music teachers today. I fell down the Neo classical metal and jazz fusion rabbit hole I don’t care if I find my way out.

super low action and minimum finger movement = speed. Also helps to have long, spindley fingers and obviously supportive parents who bought him nice guitars. Where will he go in the future? Jazz? Be cool if he made simply music that wasn't jazz or rock or any real genre. Just unique music.

He's got the look and the ability of a young EVH. IMHO he would be more interesting if he made it more Rock. That's why I think early Rush is so far better than the stuff after Permanent Wave. (Then, again, in today's market, if it had a gay insider producer, and he made it sound like any ethnicity, as long as it wasn't white.)

Tu peux être sûr que s'il essaie de jouer mélodiquement : il peut. C'est pas parce qu'il sweep à 300 à l'heure qu'il ne sait pas être musical. Guthrie Govan parmi tant d'autres est un très bon exemple ; une brute qui allié technique et musicalité. Faut arrêter de croire que si tu sais shred tu sais pas être musical, c'est des bêtises. La technique c'est comme tout : quand c'est bien utilisé, ça fait son effet. C'est pas parce que tu as vu des gratteux avec des signatures Satriani qui en foutaient partout que tous les gratteux techniques sont pareils. C'est un prodige, et ça c'est indéniable (et au passage, je suis un merde absolue en technique et suis quand même très fier de mon niveau 😊)
