I really do not say that because I'm a Mercedes fanboy or that I want now to hate on M3 or RS4, but the C63 AMG (W204) is the best car you can buy in this class and price category, it just provides so much for the money ✅🤙🏼💨🔥
I have never owned a Mercedes but wanted a 4 door car with a bit of HP. It was between the C63, CTSV, and the M3/M5. Picked up a P31 and love it. It's subdued and classy but also a roaring beast. People are shocked when you hit the gas. It's amazing how much these cars depreciated.
Insane bang for the buck. If I were in the market for a daily driver there is no question this is what I wold get. These are such special cars and the prices just blow my mind they are so cheap.
I used to have one, probably my favorite car. The engine has some issues such as the head bolts which end up leaking coolant into the engine which requires a new engine. Came just to watch the video for a reminder of the sound.
The more they push to regulate big engines like these the more I plan on buying and investing in them before they are gone. I always wanted a big V8, V10, or V12, now I might have to get all 3 (granted they might have a lot of miles so I can afford them better lol) I'm getting this as my first big V8 and I'm going to get a 06 Corvette because of the deal you can get on those. I wish all my fellow petrol or car guys the best
I’m in the market for one just like this one. The C63 seems to be a true sleeper and looks really mean and amazing. I drive a 2005 C230K sport sedan with the AMG, exhaust,Suspention, front bumper cover and Brabus wheels. Not sure if the guy whom I bought it from special ordered it but it was my win his loss when he sold it to me. I only paid $1150 for it do to a busted timing chain and of course it bent all the intake valves, so I had to pull the head out. Replaced all the valves, had it replaced-surfaced and the head completely machined by an awesome machine shop I’ve used for years. The body is in awesome condition so is the interior. I tell u I’ve had so much fun with this supercharged in-line 1.8 liter four cylinder that it’s crossed my mind to slap a Hemi in it (392). But When I saw a C63 I completely fell in love with the look, stance etc. So I’m now in the hunt for one and hopefully I will find one that’s in great shape soon. Anyways, sorry to bore you guys but loved the review and when I get mine I will post it and do a full review on the car myself. By the way I’m not selling my little C230K, it’s just a fun little car to drive...
The noise on start I forgot what it is that causes this but it’s actually a problem I think it had something to do with the intake cam or the lifters being stuck.
BLACKOUT 416 The thing is, they barely redesigned the C63 for the coupe, so it looks weird; they just removed the doors and put on two larger doors. I’d not say it’s ugly, but the sedan has better proportions.
The headbolt issue has been addressed since early 2008. I have a 08 e63 same 6.3 eurocharged exhaust every mod and never had an issue- the dealer ran my vins and I was in the headbolt era that was not effected. Stud the motor it only takes about 4 hours-
The headbolt issue was not fixed until early 2011. ALL M156 engines before 2011 have a headbolt issue and should be avoided. Your dealer lied to you. "The new head bolts were installed starting with M156 engine #60658 in early 2011. If you know where to locate it, you can check your engine number. Some owners report finding numbers less than 60658 on 2011 C63s."
@@travr6 This is not entirely true. For the headbolts, don't go by the year of manufacture. Go by that engine number you quoted. For example, my build date is February 2010 but my engine number is over 60658, many people on the forums, advised my car was affected because it was a February 2010 build, so there is only one real way to check and that is to remove the valve covers, and I have upgraded headbolts from factory on an early 2010. And there have been many reported cases of 09 cars with the upgraded headbolts and have higher numbers then 60658. If you're not sure if your car is affected, just run your vin through one of the online decoders, and it will give you your engine number. :)
I’m considering a 2012 onwards model. With the announcement that sale of new petrol/diesel cars will stop in 2030, I wonder what impact this will have on these sort of cars. Higher road tax/fuel costs to stop people driving them perhaps? Feel like these are the best and final years to own a car like this. Would welcome your thoughts. Thanks
