The real issue with the Toyota products is the price. Toyota priced their customers out of the market. It is a stretch to even purchase a vehicle and then throw in the inconvenience of reliability issues and it makes the decision to buy a Toyota a no go.

The 2025 Nissan Frontier and PRO4X have a mild face and rear gate lift, some interior changes. Still has the 3.8 9 speed, and price point is on par for a loaded Pro4x... 50k out the door and that is leather.

Thankfully it looks like the reliability issues in their modern lineup are isolated to their truck line which coincidentally is also overpriced. It's making their previous generation of trucks on the used car market look like a really good buy right now.

I was honestly thinking of getting the TRD offroad with the 6ft bed. But after all the issues and the fact that the frontier pro4x is getting a 6ft bed next year. I think I will wait for that. Also I did some research the frontier and titan are built on the same frame. You can put titan suspension on the frontier you get a long travel suspension and wider track. Also you can swap the titan v8 in to the frontier. That honestly has me very interested even if i never do the swap. If Nissan sold the frontier with Titan v8 and suspension it would blow out all the other specialty trucks out of the water.

The fact that Toyota is already discounting a new release tells me either the economy is slowing down, prices are a bit high due to inflation or both like u mentioned. Having said that I like the specs on this one and would consider it or the Ford Ranger XLT with the 2.7, which is priced comparably.

In reference to the new Tacoma, there is NOTHING about that truck that turns me on, zero. I drove Tacoma's for 20 years before going to the Tundra, the 5.7 PRO. Seems like the Tacoma got smaller in every way including the engine. Might be ok for a teenager, if they could possibly afford it.

Every pickup truck should have at least a 6ft bed. It's absolutely insane that it's no longer the standard, even on half-ton trucks, nowadays. I'm so glad Toyota is still giving us that option on the new Tacoma. I just wish it was 48in between the wheel wells too, like the new Ranger.

Ben, Its not just the Tundra. Its the Lack of options. Everyone is unhappy with no engine options other than these turbo/hybrids…. That is pissing people off. Then the high Prices That is really pissing people off! AND now look at the NHTSA reports about the Tacoma. They are having too many reported transmission problems. And those are just the reported ones. Not to mention the lack of bump stop thing! Its a cumulation of things. And if they keep going Toyota will have a real problem on their hands… I think it started with the new CEO. I believe he has to go! IMHO.

If you openly admit you disregard facts in favor of opinions, then why should someone take you seriously? Are you afraid to consider that companies have been price-gouging customers for years, and that many people will make excuses to pay more for less?
Consider this: a family is struggling to put as much food on the table as they previously did. The products they buy are at best the same price or have gone up, while the amount they buy has shrunk (e.g., a 20 oz bottle of detergent is now 16 oz). The companies making these products have reported record profits (e.g., John Deere raking in $10+ billion in 2023 solely in profits) year after year. The CEOs of these companies are telling struggling families to eat cereal while said executives get $30 million bonuses after raising prices and laying off hundreds if not thousands of employees, again. Inflation has been in a favorable position and getting better for months (despite every member of an entire political party voting against the Inflation Reduction Act), and is in fact the best among the G7 countries (meaning the US is doing better than any country you can compare to it, such as France, England, Germany). So why is it that people aren't happy with their economic situation?
Because wages have not kept pace with the economy. Companies intentionally pay employees less and use more of their profits on stock buybacks and dividends. They keep prices high because, having seen that people will pay high prices and that they can rake in more money than ever before, they let their greed make all the decisions. They keep prices high and lie to customers as to the reason, and customers, looking for someone to blame other than the person they are buying from, blame some nebulous idea (the economy or inflation) instead of the person who is looking them in the eye and lying through their teeth. I don't get my news from anyone being sued for billions of dollars for defamation, especially if they lose more than half their yearly profits in a single settlement and fire their top earner to cover their sorry ass.
The economy is not crashing and burning. We are not on the verge of a recession. Feelings are not a substitute for facts. Cars have never been cheap. They have always been a serious purchase and only become more so because drivers both need certain features (airbags, seat belts, backup cameras) and want certain features (wireless chargers, multi-zone climate control, automatic rear windows and rooftops, heated steering wheels, heads-up display). Those aren't free and the automotive companies want to turn a profit on anything they can, not just to pay for the inclusion of a feature but to make an extra buck off it. And so they charge a very pretty penny for a car that isn't worth that much because they know drivers need cars. On the other side, drivers are not happy with how feature-heavy cars have gotten and thus how pricey they have gotten while their employers are withholding fair pay and therefore they don't buy. People want a good deal on anything they buy, they want to get their money's worth and not be ripped off, and it's worse with cars because if something goes wrong there's a scary-high chance that it won't be cheap and the driver must pay for it. Naturally the more expensive the vehicle the worse this gets.
I'm in a better position to buy a new vehicle than I have been at any point in my life save one other. I have considered what I need a vehicle for now as opposed to then, I have looked at a range of options from a list of choices, I test drove to see if anything felt right for me and I have talked with a number of people who have driven a variety of competitors' vehicles, and I have carefully considered my personal finances. And still -- still! -- I have to be careful because if I make a mistake getting a new vehicle, it will be a living hell untangling myself from it and trying again, time consuming and potentially harming my finances. I know everyone else on Earth has to put themselves through the same paces because god knows they don't want the frustration any more than I do.
So when I hear you moaning about "The economy!" or "Inflation, gah!" or outright bragging that hard data means nothing to you and wounded feelings are more important, I find it to be utterly unacceptable. You are borderline calling your viewers gullible saps when you do that, and while I can't speak for everyone, I can speak for myself when I say that I do not enjoy being treated as if I am stupid.
If you are so desperate to be proven wrong on this issue, then I recommend Robert Reich's content here on TH-cam. He will be more than happy to educate you so that you have facts instead of myths.
